California Gold Tattoo

I ended up not getting a tattoo with D’mon but I have to give him a review for his professionalism. I was super impressed with how he manages his business. I made an appointment with him via email through his assistant Emily, who was super helpful and friendly. I ended up changing my mind the week of my appointment, and they refunded my deposit immediately with no questions asked. It may not seem like much, but I was just really impressed with the promptness and professionalism he and his assistant displayed throughout the entire process.

D’mon is awesome.
Granted my piece was pretty simple, but he took half as long and charged half as much as quoted. Very nice guy. Very knowledgeable and talented. Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be going back for any future work.

Great place! Very clean and professional. John MacIntyre was beyond amazing, so very nice and accommodating. He’s not only a very talented artist, he really listens to your ideas and helps you figure out the perfect design. Prior to tattooing my friend and me, he spent a good amount of time with us helping us figure out our tattoos. He was very kind even though we may have been needy tattoo-​ees. And the tattoos were nearly painless. ;)

My experience at California gold tattoo was nothing short of perfect. From the moment I decided I was getting a piece done by D’mon to the moment I was done. I was satisfied! The handling of the appointment, follow through and everything in between was awesome and I would not recommend anyone else. So much that I’m already trying to get another appointment booked. DMon is everything! I’m so happy with the clean lines. His moniker «the architect» is spot on!
The shop itself was clean and uncluttered, the restrooms where clear. There wasn’t a lot of horsing around, which you find in some tattoo shops. (my last tattoo experience ended with the guy wrapping my tat showing me his penis!)
There were pillows with disposable cases, which made my time on the table comfortable. Dmon was very collaborative, he had my artwork ready. He also let me slightly change placement without complaining. He made my experience extremely comfortable. To top it off, it wasn’t as painful as I thought. He was fast, professional and (kinda sexy! Lol). I’m ready to book another appointment.

Called last minute and got a tattoo done by Dougie Mittz. Had an awesome conversation while getting it done. He’s a very talented artist and a nice person.
If you’re looking to get really fine lines, he’s the guy! I showed him a few photos of what I wanted and had his artistic input. The tattoo came out beautiful! So much better than what I wanted it to look like!

John McIntyre is one of the best… period. With so many artist to choose from the most important thing you want/​need in my opinion is to connect with your artist. Thats and obviously great work. John did my sleeve five years ago and honestly once a week I get a compliment from someone on the street. They always ask how long I’ve had it and when I tell them 5 years they’re blown away because the colors are so vibrant. Did I mention that John drew the entire sleeve on me by hand??? He is a true artist. Im getting a new piece next month and I cant wait. I brought a friend of mine in to do a cover up. She had a bad burn from a motorcycle on her claf. John put a flower with a butterfly on it. You couldnt see the scar and the tattoo was amazing. Go see John, you wont regret.

Douggie Mittz is my guy. He’s tattooed me many times over the years and also did a great cover up job on someone else’s bad work. All the people at CG seem terrific and all are friendly and professional.

I don’t have enough good things to say about California Gold Tattoo, and artist John McIntyre.
My best friend and I decided we would finally take the plunge and honor both of our moms’ passings by having their handwriting tattooed on our wrists together. Being that it was both of our first tattoos though, we were super crazy nervous, afraid, and completely unaware of the process or what to expect.
A friend referred us to California Gold, and from the second contact was made it was an amazing experience. The dude who spoke to me over the phone was so patient and willing to answer my ‘silly’ first-​timer tattoo questions. And when he told me that John was out of town for a tattoo conference when I asked for him specifically, he gave me his direct cell number and told me to text him! Amazing.
John managed to squeeze us both in, and made a slightly scary experience so fun and so very special. He joked with us, told us awesome stories, made us feel so comfortable and at ease every step of the way.
Best of all, he did an absolutely incredible job. Every day I look down and fall more in love with the tattoo that I never thought I would ever have. Beyond that, my best friend and I have this incredible experience he allowed us to share together (including multiple pics and videos).
THANK YOU GUYS times a billion. I will recommend you to every single person I know (and especially the fraidy-​cat newbies who you can mess with and scare the shit out of! :))

I was referred to Doug through a friend of mine. I looked over his work on Instagram and was impressed. He was very cool, friendly and professional. Everyone there was very welcoming and friendly. About 4 hours later he was done with my tattoo and I was very happy. He was very informative on how to take care of it at home. I will be going back to him for my next portrait. Thx guys

This shop is great! I have been getting tattooed by Jeff Page and D’mon for many years. They are the best! I have never seen so much thought and detail go into the tattoo process and the end result really shows it.

Filled with artists that have been pillars in the tattoo community for many years. You really should come see for yourself. Jeff Page and D’mon have been tattooing me for years and i look forward to many more years of work from them!

D’mon IS THE MAN. If you want something well thought out, designed and executed with such skill, ask for him. His line work is top notch. I got my first tattoo with him today, and was so impressed. I was supposed to go to a tattoo place down the street on Sunset, but the vibe and style was way off. I left California gold with a big hug from my new favorite New Zealander! The coffee shop across the street, muddy paws is great too.
**D’mon originally declined my WALK IN request because he was working on a deadline, so he referred me to his coworker. That tattoo artist was not comfortable doing the small detail I wanted… So D’mon PUT HIS WORK TO THE SIDE to fit me in. Such a nice soul. If I am in LA again, and get another tattoo, I will be calling D’mon.
The pricing was great, considering the quality and care and love that D’mon gave me. The environment was chill, and I felt at ease. I knew it was the right place when he advised me against my original location (below the collar bone) and suggested I center my tattoo either on my chest or back. I know that thirty years from now I will still love my Beetle tattoo, perfectly located on my back.
Long story short, if you want a great experience and a beautiful tattoo, go to California Gold, and ask for D’mon.

Nothing short of amazing! Mr Jeff Page is the man! Great tattoo, awesome atmosphere. friendly and personable staff. I found my new favorite place to get inked!

First things first. The tattoo by D’Mon. Took what I discussed and elevated my vision completely. listened to me and created something special, unique and perfect for me. The detail is Incredible and the work is some of the best I have seen. (and I did heavy research with MANY shops and artists.) The other part of this is the artist himself. Humble, gifted and really puts his heart and soul into something you are going to carry on you for the remainder of your time here. It is important to choose wisely. You have no concern if you go to D’Mon. Could not be more pleased or grateful for this shop and D’Mons work. Google his Facebook site… D’Mon Tattoo. There are far more images there that show you the caliber of his work than on the shop site. VERY satisfied.

So happy for my friend D’mon and this new shop owned by himself and some amazing and experienced artist.
D’mon was able to knock out some lettering done on my right and left biceps in one sitting. Great guy and a real talent!
