I am very impressed with Fernando and his team. I was in need of replacing a vanity sink in one of my bathrooms and some roofing handyman services. I had been putting off the work for months and even considered doing it myself because the estimates that I received from other contractors were ridiculously high and super-​inflated. Also, the other contracting companies either seemed disinterested in smaller jobs, not trustworthy, or left me with reservations and not a good feeling overall in having them do the work.
In comes BBC Construction/​Remodeling LLC. From the point of my initial meeting with the owner Fernando to the actual completion of the job, I am thoroughly satisfied with my decision in hiring this company. Fernando was very professional and his team did a great job on the work I requested. He was able to assess the work needed accurately and offered up great advice/​recommendations on the work to be completed. In addition, he exuded two of the top qualities I look for in a contractor:
1) Patience — Not once did I feel rushed with my initial appointment. He listened attentively, was not pushy and seemed eager to help. Nor, did I feel like Fernando was annoyed by my slue of questions. And, believe me there were many… He patiently listened and answered every question.
2) Attention to Detail — Fernando did a great job at assessing the work needed to be done and provided a fair estimate of the cost. Antonio was the crew member assigned to the work I requested. This guy was top notch. He performed an exceptional job on completing new plumbing and installing a new vanity sink in my home. He had great attention to detail and cleaned up the site afterwards. He also was the guy that handled the roofing work I requested as well and even completed a few things that were not a part of the scope of work! He could have ignored it or charged me extra, but he didn’t! This is when you know you have found a quality, first rate company that takes pride in what they do.
I would recommend BBC Construction/​Remodeling LLC; without reservation. They are dependable, trust worthy and do great work. The entire experience made me feel as though customer satisfaction is a high priority.
I have a few more projects around the house and I definitely will be reaching out to Fernando and his team for their services.

Fernando is the best!!! My upstairs shower was leaking downstairs into my dining room. I had 2 different plumbers come in and rip the shower wall open only to be unable to find the problem. They told me I needed to rip the bathtub out and install a brand new tub and piping altogether.
Fernando looked around for less than 5 minutes, found the problem, and fixed everything in a matter of hours and for dirt cheap. There’s no more leak and I didn’t have to shell out $ 2,500 for a new shower like the other plumbers suggested. Fernando really saved me here. I plan on remodeling the bathroom someday and you can bet on who I’ll call for that project.

I have used Fernando for several small to medium sized jobs on both our house and a rental property. He is a wonderful guy. He is responsive and does high quality work. One time I was out of town and had a pipe start leaking at a rental property and he was able to go over and do an emergency repair which saved me a big hassle. What I particularly like is that he is very honest about what he can and can not do and deliver. He also prefers to give written estimates and takes credit cards for payment over the phone, which is a big convenience. Some caveats that I see from the other reviews are that sometimes the work isn’t completed exactly when planned and there are some unplanned expenses. However, if you do any sort of renovation work, you know that this is pretty normal for the work. Contractors are always trying to balance multiple jobs and things always take longer than planned. I will say he always stays in good communication with you and you just have to be a little flexible as that is just the nature of this type of work.
Bottom Line: I would recommend him whole-​heartedly.

Fernando and his team are amazing. It’s my first time working with a contractor and my experience has been seamless. I have a restrict HOA and when I didn’t pass inspect the first time, he returned to completed the job again. I truly appreciate all his patience, effort and time. Look forward to working with him again! I definitely recommend him.

Fernando and his crew saved my LIFE.
I initially selected BBC to FINISH my kitchen because my original contractors bailed on a planned weekend of work. Seriously… I interviewed 4 other contractors, who either never showed or didn’t have time to take on additional business… Unbelievable…right?
Then there was BBC. my rescuers
When Fernando and his employee arrived to assess the work that was still needed, they arrived on time and exhibited a great wealth of knowledge in their profession. They even set up my new stove, during the consultation visit, so that I could at least use it for the time being (until the entire kitchen was finished) I was already impressed.
They installed my kitchen counters, sink, dish washer and painted the entire… it was perfection They even sealed off the kitchen entrances when they were working and placed cloth on my wood floor and worked. non-​stop.
After these jobs were completed Fernando noticed that my new slate floor (installed by different contractors) were sinking, uneven and moving. not installed properly. He brought it to my attention (although I noticed it as well). As a result, I hired BBC to re-​do my floors. They are GORGEOUS!!!, leveled. did I say GORGEOUS.
Now I’m planning on a bathroom remodel.
The BBC staff is pleasant, professional and the work is exceptional.

We’ve been extremely happy with Fernando and his crew. He was referred by 2 sets of friends who had BBC do their basement remodels. I’ve had him do some painting and the install of French doors. Quality work in all cases. We’ve been so pleased I’ve already contacted him for some additional work. His prices are very reasonable and competitive.

This business refused to do any work based on my zipcode. Although I am located within the same county that the business is located, they refused to do any work based on my zip code. They gave no explanation for why they would not do work in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Attention to detail is their best feature. Fernando came out to the house and gave me a fair estimate for the work to be done. There were some communication glitches, but overall the work performed was precise. I gave them a key to the house and the crew was very trustworthy. They sanded all the surfaces and smoothed them out and the painting trim work is very nice… all the edges are crisp. A few minor inconveniences. they switched my vent with my return and I forgot a vent that needed painting. Also, the first two days were great, but then the crew dwindled down, so the job took longer than I expected, but I should have asked as well. In the end, Fernando came by to do a final walk through and inspection with his crew and touch up any last areas. Overall, I was very happy with the attention to detail and the politeness of his crew.

Really great job. They replaced our front and back doors. The price was reasonable and consistent with the quote received. This team, Fernando, Antonio, Raul, they took pride in their work; took pictures when done. Great attention to detail. Were able to find molding to match the vintage type around an adjacent window to preserve the style.
And all this despite Home Depot completely messing up on the inventory, and sending them to 3 locations. I felt for sure they would raise the price because of Home Depot’s wild goose chase, and would not have objected really, but the final price only added the tiny cost of a little more molding from the quote (which I had approved during the installation after I saw what the options were to keep things looking symmetrical).

Very impressed with Fernando and his crew. This is the second project we called Fernando on, and we will definitely be calling him back for more work. His team had great attention to detail on the trim and tile work they did at our house. Our next projects will be crown moulding and a stone accent wall. Fernando and his crew are very clean, professional and punctual. We are very pleased.

4.5 stars. Full disclosure — I’m writing this review on my mom’s behalf. When she started looking into a kitchen renovation, I started looking into kitchen contractors on Unilocal.I searched highly-​rated PG County-​based contractors and found BBC Construction & Remodeling.
I’ll start by saying Fernando and team did a beautiful job on mom’s kitchen and finished on the EXACT date that he’d estimated before starting the job (approx. 4.5 weeks). Fernando was very patient throughout the process. After his original estimate, he came to meet with mom, my sister, bro-​in-​law and I to answer all of our questions about the renovation. Fernando also gave my mom some great suggestions on how to improve the overall polish of the finished kitchen (such as adding pot lights and choosing beautiful and affordable marble countertops). The team gutted the original (but refaced) 1940s kitchen, including taking down a bunch of soffits and rearranging the kitchen into a much better flow. Mom’s eat-​in kitchen is cozy, but the renovations have given her significantly more counter space and tons more cabinet space.
Reasons that I bumped down his rating .5 star: 1) there were times during the renovation when he wasn’t super clear about the scheduling of when his team would be a my mom’s house. She wasn’t comfortable giving them a key to her house (which is his preferred setup), which meant that he had to tell her what days he’d be coming by. However, they didn’t always show on the days that they said they would. In the end, this didn’t end up being a big deal because, as I mentioned, they finished the job on time. But this did up the frustration level of my mom, a retiree who likes to sleep in late :) On the days she thought they were coming, she’d get up early to let them in, so if they didn’t show, she’d be cranky for the rest of the day.
2) The final costs were a couple hundred dollars above the agreed upon estimate. This was largely due to upgrades that Fernando recommended mid-​job that mom had originally turned down. For example, he suggested pot lights instead of a florescent light fixture. While I agree that it looks MUCH better with the pot lights, to mom, it started to seem like expenses were adding up, which in turn upped her anxiety level. What can I say — renovations can be stressful.
All in all, I’d HIGHLY RECOMMEND Fernando and his crew any day. They did a great job. Just relax and trust that he knows what he’s talking about and then enjoy your awesome reno :)

Fernando just saved me from a $ 335K mistake of a house.
There were some looming questions after a home inspection on a house that I was under contract to purchase, and it was recommended I call in a contractor for estimates. Because of the tight schedule I had with the sale, I had 2 days in which to get someone to come give me an estimate for repairs. My agent recommended BBC, and after calling with them Fernando was able to come out the next evening.
Within 15 minutes of being there, he identified several issues (that the inspector had also pointed out), and went down to the crawl space to look at some other issues I had questions on. Within a few minutes, he emerged with a detailed explanation of the issues and did not beat around the bush with telling me that I did not want this particular house due to some severe structural issues we had been questioning, and that the repairs would not be feasible.
I appreciated his willingness to come out on short notice, his honesty and bluntness about the house. There was no rush, and he made sure that all of my questions and concerns were met. Ultimately, his review of the situation is what made me walk from the house. BBC will be my first call in the future when the need arises.

I would definitely recommend BBC. They were very professional, prompt, and did an outstanding job on a kitchen ceiling repair /​water damage project. Looks as close to the original as you could expect even before repainting.

Fernando and his team are truly amazing. They are professional, thorough, and friendly. We hired Fernando’s team to come and fix a crack in our ceiling and roof shingle back in May. The work he did was exceptional, you seriously could not tell we ever had any roof issues.
We also just hired them to come and paint our kitchen. They did a fantastic job, and I’m beyond happy with the finished product.
Fernando provides accurate estimates (and he always lets us know ahead of time what the cost will be for additional work that’s needed before moving forward).
Lastly, his team makes it a point to thoroughly clean the work area after they are done. They wipe everything down, vacuum the area, and ask if we are happy with the finished product before we pay/​they leave.
I would recommend this team to anyone in the area looking for a great contractor, painter, etc. Can’t wait to have him come back and do more to our home.

We contacted Fernando, owner of BBC Construction, for a quote on our kitchen and dining room remodeling. Our first meeting with Fernando went great. He was very patient and listened to our ideas. It was a big project, which involved removing walls, installing hardwood floors, installing cabinets, and adding electrical fuses. After we signed the contract, Fernando and his team showed up at our house and began the process. Fernando and his team were very professional and courteous. They worked efficiently and diligently to get our kitchen completed in a reasonable timeframe. Fernando offered ideas and suggestions without being intrusive. He kept us updated on the progress and even stopped by our house after work hours to meet with us regarding last minute requests we had. He accommodated our requests and completed the kitchen renovation within the agreed timeframe. Also, thanks to his referral, we received a HUGE discount on our cabinets. We are extremely satisfied with the services that BBC construction has provided. We strongly recommend BBC Construction for your kitchen remodeling. We will definitely be contacting him in the future for other home improvement upgrades we have in mind.

Fernando and his crew did a fantastic job and in a very compressed schedule. The jobs ranged from painting high traffic areas of the house and external trim, caulking windows, caulking the bathroom, and replacing rotted wood.
The cost was not the cheapest or the most expensive, but was very reasonable. Of the three quotes received, Fernando was realistic and provided detailed explanations of the job and his approach. He listened to the customer’s needs, and offered recommendations to minimize cost and still accomplish the job. The job itself was conducted in a very professional manner. The crew was efficient, and took care to protect the flooring, appliances and household effects.
I would highly recommend BBC construction to others, and will certainly call them in the future.

If you need renovation of your kitchen and most likely any other room, you should call this business aka Fernando first and then compare all other prospective bidders to this one. You will find the cost competitive and reasonable. More than that you will get more than your money’s worth when it comes to craftsmanship, expert advise, and dedicated time and workers to your project.
Everyone who sees my kitchen after BBC’s renovation in March just cannot get over how beautiful it looks from before. I agree and relatively for so little.
I plan to use them again and have already referred others who have been well pleased with the results.

This rating is based solely on our experience with Fernando as we did not end up working with BBC Construction after our experience.
We contacted BBC based on the wonderful Unilocal reviews and had hopes that they would help us make updates to our very tiny bathrooms. After a lot of email and phone tags, we finally were able to set up an appointment with Fernando. As excited as we were to get his perspective and expertise, he was not very helpful at all. My husband and I felt like he wasn’t listening to anything we were saying. He kept trying to expand our bathrooms which if he paid attention — was pretty much impossible and would have been VERY costly to just «expand» it by a few inches. We just wanted to update the look our our bathrooms. We both felt like he didn’t want to take on the job based on his illogical recommendations and swift walk-​through. He even had the audacity to mention how important it was for him to keep his perfect Unilocal reviews. That comment was very unnecessary for what we were asking him to help us with.
We both shook Fernando’s hand and it was as we ALL knew that this would be the last time we would communicate. We were pretty disappointed with our experience and not sure why Fernando operated in such a negative disposition. Maybe he is used to his company working on huge houses in upscale neighborhoods. Or, maybe he felt like his time was wasted because we looked like a young couple who didn’t have much money (which is NOT true). Who knows.

We contracted this company to come and assess some water leakage and dryer venting issues we had in our home. They came by that week, worked efficiently, and were reasonably priced. They were very thorough and were appreciated by the home owner. Would definitely recommend them to others, and would call on them in the future if we needed their expertise again.

Fernando and his crew did a complete kitchen gut job and renovation right after we purchased our first home. The floor joists, flooring, walls, cabinets, counters, and most appliances were replaced. We also had electrical and plumbing work done with Fernando. I highly recommend his services — the cost was reasonable, he is very reliable, and he puts his client first, no matter what!
Fernando was very patient and understanding about getting permits for our work from PG county and together we got it all taken care of, after a couple of weeks of gut-​wrenching bureaucratic messiness. After demolition, the work proceeded with the installation of porcelain tile, putting up brand new drywall, the trim, the painting, installing the cabinets, replacing a window, installing the appliances, coordinating plumbing and electrical work, etc. We had a water line added to the fridge as well as the gas line moved to accommodate a change in stove location. Fernando also came up with a great idea for handling the dead space in the corner of the kitchen where the entrance to the cellar is. We ordered an extra cabinet and they used the door to create a dummy cabinet and counter in the corner so we have some more counter space and the kitchen looks contiguous.
Fernando has a great eye for aesthetics and cared a lot about making sure we were comfortable, happy, and taken care of. Although our work took longer because of permit problems and the floor needed to be completely rebuilt, Fernando saw the work through all the way to the end, through all of the tough stuff, and kept our happiness his #1 priority the entire time. The kitchen is gorgeous, sturdy, and fabulous.
