Claridge House

Very clean older building with spacious (huge, really) rooms and lots of closets. Our balcony faces a (manure?) processing place/​industrial park, but I work from home and it doesn’t disturb me at all. The smell in the warmer months can get a bit much, but you can just shut the windows.
Very quiet for the most part and the management/​front desk is super responsive to repair requests /​noise complaints, etc. I’ve even had maintenance in for routine stuff and they’ve offered to fix holes left in the wall from the previous tenant that I’d probably end up charged for after the end of the lease! Very nice people.
Clean up for snowzilla was wonderful. They had a plan of action days before and plows every couple hours during the night, then they helped everyone dig out in the morning and relocate cars to plow the whole lot. Safe community — Lots of military men and women live here because of the Annex nearby, there’s a community center directly across from us and we’re about a 1.5 mile walk to metro. (and a short walk to Parkway Deli).

Moved here in early May, so far so good.
The place is clean, well maintained and quiet, no pests. Car parking is OK. Front desk is professional and helpful, community is nice. Maintenance issues are resolved fast.
It took a couple of weeks to set up Internet connection, but it was Comcast issue. Beware — only Verizon and Comcast are supported, no RCN.

At first we my husband and I loved these apartments! The first night we woke up sweating because it was too hot in the room. We tried to turn on the AC. Well apparently Claridgehouse determines if you are going to be cold or hot. They control the units themselves. So if you are hot in the middle of the night, unless you purchase your own fan (which you shouldn’t have to) then you’re going to stay hot. We started to leave the windows open and all you can hear is the blinds slamming back and forth on the window sill all night which is beyond annoying. We’ve also had a few of the blinds just snap off because of this. A few of the sockets only allow one thing to be plugged in, which is pretty inconvenient. There are no ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom so you have to plug in a floor lamp which can be annoying at night when you need light and all you have is the light of the floor lamp.

Ehhh… It was a decent apartment I went to in my area. The apartment community room is alright. There’s not much in this place. And yes, I have family living here. It’s an okay place to live.
