2.75 stars as an elegy– DIlsae closed within the last few months. I’m sad but not surprised. The food was better than average, but the prices were high, the portions small and the service was warm and friendly but generally slow and ineffecient. There is a kabob place there now that also serves Indian food, but I haven’t tried it.

My wife felt that the butter chicken was too sweet, and I agree. The quantity was good and other dishes were good. Service is very slow.

What a joke. Their buffet is an insult to the Indian cuisine. U have a choice of 5 dishes. NOTHINGHERETASTESGOODANDTHEOWNERSARESTINGY. Head up Route 29 to Columbia for better Indian food

Oh so sad when compared to last year! The buffet has been cut back drastically. No salad. No riata. No tamarind. No samosa. I went for lunch with coworkers, and we were there from 11am to 1pm on a Thursday — and we were the only customers. The bonus was that the owner gave us free mango lassi and free papadum. But you can tell that they’re hurting for business from the cutbacks in the buffet variety!

I LOVEDTHISRESTAURANT. I went here one day during my lunch hour and i was pleasantly surprised. The prices were very reasonable for the food, considering how indian food is very pricey at other restaurants. it was $ 8.95 for the buffet. There was a good selection and the food tasted great. I was also impressed by the Proprietor’s treatment as he periodically checked up on me asking me if i needed anything despite it being a buffet. I also came back a second time a few weeks ago, but this time it was for dinner, and i brought my girlfriend Monique, who had never had Indian food before. We had the butter chicken and an order of samosas. The chicken was cooked to perfection with just the right balances of spices in the sauce and the samosas were crispy and excellent. Again i was impressed by the management as they were genuinely concerned about customer satisfaction. One more thing, I was especially pleased the fact that the restaurant had exceptionally CLEANBATHROOMS, something i don’t find in other restaurants. This place has it all with food, service, hygiene and a warm customer friendly ambiance.

My colleagues and I go every month to this place. It’s a small, friendly restaurant but the food is great! Love the Buttered Paneer(and Buttered Chicken) in the buffet line. No complaints.

Two words: food. poisoning. And not just me, my boyfriend, too. The food was tasty, but I can’t sing the praises of a place that made me hug the porcelain toilet.

+4 for flavor, –2 for value. This place is near us in a small strip mall. We finally got around to trying it. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the«take out» ambiance. You know, where the counter is in back, and there are only a couple of unclothed tables in the front. We had planned originally to eat in, but when we saw that, we realized there was better ambiance on the couch at home. The food prep was quick, about 10 minutes. Lamb curry, chicken tikka masala, naan, and gulag jamun — $ 30. We took it back, and it was good, well flavored and seasoned, with a hint of spiciness. The only problem is, there wasn’t much of it. There was less than a full breast’s worth of chicken, and there were only about 8 cubes of lamb. Fortunately they gave us a lot of rice and sauce, otherwise we would have had to run out for more food. Most Indian places we go to give us more food than we can eat and we get leftovers; this place left us licking the plate. Unless something changes, or I have a desperate urge for Indian food that can’t be satisfied somewhere else, I wouldn’t go back.

This place is great. Great food and friendly service. I’ve tried the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken, and both are excellent. The tikka masala is a bit on the spicier side, but is not overwhelming. The butter chicken dish is almost as spicy. Each dish is packed with flavor, with both having a generous portion of meat. The management is really good and is very concerned about customer service and attracting customers. They understand that taking care of the customer increases business. They usually close temporarily(as most Indian establishments do) on Mondays and Tuesdays around 3pm, but the manager took my order around 3 and let me pick it up around 3:30 with no problems at all. The only slight disadvantage is the naan can be great on some days and mediocre on others(sometimes over-cooked). The dishes are greasy, but that may be because of the nature of the dish(i.e. can’t expect fried chicken not to be greasy). The décor of the restaurant is simple and is probably not the best place for a quiet, dimly-lit romantic evening. It’s not a «hole in the wall», either. Just simple and to the point.

Ok guys don’t shoot me. I read«few» good reviews here and decided to give it a try and I hate to say I was disappointed. Chicken curry and Chicken Tikka was still pink. Showed owner twice who was very nice but did not bother going back and checking the food and told me not to eat pink. Later I saw other customers walk in and no action from owner. When I was leaving I reminded him again and his answer was«they are over cooked and they are just fine» I was shocked and told him to check the UN eaten peaces I’ve left on plate but no action from him. I hope others don’t get sick since when I came back to office I started having belly pain :-( Beside that buffet was not worth the 10 bucks for this watered down invention at all since the variety is very small and food does not do justice to good Indian Food this comes from a foodie from Indian subcontinent. I’ll not recommend and will not go back either.

2.5 stars. Never thought I’d see the day when an Indian Restaurant made it’s way to Burtonsville, but apparently that day has come. Seeing as how it’s Burtonsville(generally speaking), the buffet is a little watered down flavor-wise for my tastes, but then I find most indian buffets are. I need me some spicy channa masala, and rich with flavor mutter paneer which I why I generally order off the menu even if the dish I want is being offered on the buffet. I also was not impressed at all with the samosas and got some palak/saag carryout that didn’t do it for me. That said, the space is adorable, but they need to work on improving the food. Maybe they could pick up the cook that worked at the now defunct Kitchen India because that food was awesome and I wish I had that dude’s number cause I would totally have him do some catering for me. Since I do not live extremely far from Dilsae, it would be nice to have a little go-to Indian spot that I could count on.

We had Aloo Saag, Malai Kofta, Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Lamb Curry. The Chicken Tikka Masala was very good, the rest were excellent. I would be happy to have any of these again. It’s in a strip mall, and the place is pretty plain, so this wouldn’t be the ideal place for a romantic dinner. But wow, the food was great. NOTE: This restaurant is closed Saturdays.
