5-star service all the way. I’ve been seeing Dr. Bernstein for about 8 – 9 years now. I used to have a lot of dental problems — most due to the extremely polluted area I grew up in, others due to the atrocious dental service I received over the years. Dr. Bernstein and his team managed to get me back on track — he was very forward and blunt with what needed to be done and how long it was going to take. He walked me through the entire process, helped by suggesting a payment plan. I’ve been seen by both Dr. Bernstein and Dr. Perkins, they’re both excellent docs. Oh, and you get a jingle with your dental exam. Dr. Bernstein is especially talented when it comes to singing :)

I’ve been going to Dr. Bernstein for many years. Dave P’s review sums up his practice perfectly. I can only add that for the very tricky things that you need to get done as you get older, he is outstanding. When I finally started needing crowns, he fit them so perfectly that I don’t even notice that I have them. His staff does all the insurance paperwork, he does excellent work, and he is very entertaining to listen to. What more could you ask for?

I started going to this practice more years ago than I like to admit – basically it was just Dr. Katz at the time(he’s now retired). When Dr. Bernstein joined the practice I started making my appointments with him so it’s been 30 years? maybe more? He treats me, my husband, and two children(now adults). He does not bilk you, is a fantastic diagnoser, and is rather entertaining. I would not go to anyone else – if he retires I guess my dental check-ups are over!

Dentists. Really. Does ANYONE actually enjoy going to the dentist? I don’t, but as even Dr. Bernstein would probably say, «A necessary evil is still a necessary evil.» I’m biased in as much as I’ve been going to the same guy for something like 15 years. Now, mind you, I moved from MD to Sterling, VA11 years ago, and I still made the trek [1 hour each way] up to Randolph & New Hampshire twice a year to go have a dude stick his 2-layer latex glove covered fingers into my mouth and do things with sharp objects that make me cringe. For twice a year teeth cleanings(which so far is all I’ve needed), he’s excellent. Whether he means to or not, he provides entertainment, in the form of a somewhat cynical guy who doesn’t couch his opinions too tightly. At the end of the hour, it doesn’t seem like it was all that bad. Now onto the important stuff: Yep, he takes insurance. Yep, there is parking, along side of the building and in the garage in back(you will NEVER see a smaller, steeper parking garage in your life, avoid if icy). Yep, there are magazines in the waiting room, some published after 1943. Yep, there is an office staff who is religious about keeping appointments and making sure the paperwork is complete before leaving. Yep, they DO want to help you keep your appointment, so there is a snail mail mailing that arrives about 2 weeks before your appointment, and they call you the day before to remind & confirm. Here is the best part: This guy is ONTIME. He doesn’t bump appointments, he doesn’t run late. My appts are always at the top of the hour, and I have never had to wait more than 1 or 2 minutes past the hour for him to call me back. There are two other dentists in the practice, along with at least one dental hygenist, but Mark really is the guy to go see.
