Epit of Eves Catering

Epit of Eves has catered two events. One Jack and Jill ceremony for 25 people and Thanksgiving for 15 people. Epit of Eves did a wonderful job on both occasions. The food was amazing. The Thanksgiving meal tasted like home cooking.

My wife and I hired this company to do catering for my wedding. The company began setting up tables late, did not fit as many tables in the ballroom as we agreed to, so some families did not have a place to sit. Though our event started 60 minutes late, there were tables and families who had not been plated or fed 2.5 hours after the contracted time. The food served was cold, and the rice was raw. Many people present in the event witnessed and complained to me, the groom, of these facts, and it is my right to provide truthful feedback on my experience. If they were more staffed to handle the event, maybe they would have delivered the service they promised under contract, but that was not my experience. Instead of enjoying my wedding, I was constantly handling complaints and managing things that should have been taken care of by the company I hired to do so. Threats against people who are stating facts are a poor way to keep a 5 star image. Facts are facts, and they are allowed to be shared, as protected by law.

I have attended several events catered by Epit-​of-​Eves Catering, with guest counts around 100. The food choices and desserts taste fantastic! I especially love the jerk chicken wings and potato wedge fries. I’m not a big fish eater, but Evelyn’s fried fish is flavorful and fresh out of the fryer! And, I can’t even find the words to describe her desserts! I’ve always been a fan! Cakes and cookies are all made from scratch. Evelyn’s team is very professional, timely, and has excellent presentation skills. I highly recommend Epit-​of-​Eves Catering for any event type in the DMV area, large or small!

We used Epit of Eves for a dinner party of 26 people that we hosted at our home last weekend. The owner, Evelyn, was very responsive and flexible throughout the entire planning process. I ended up having to change my menu, and she was very supportive as she laid out my choices. I ended up going with fried and jerk chicken wings, waffles, macaroni and cheese, and a sautéed kale/​collard mix with a triple-​layer chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was spectacular! My husband and I enjoyed the food, and we got plenty of compliments from our guests. We also appreciated the cheese/​cracker and fruit plate that she created for appetizers while people mingled at the beginning of the party. We paid extra for her on-​site service, which included set-​up, cleaning up behind our guests, and serving dessert. It was a wonderful event, and the food was a big part of its success. I will definitely call on Epit of Eves in the future.

Such an expensive, embarrassing disappointment. We booked this caterer for our Grandmother’s 90^th birthday brunch. We were expecting mini-​quiches, an assortment of breads, fruit salad and salad for fifty people. What we got was two greasy/​non-​edible pans of «quiche,» a box of melting, store-​bought donuts, a bowl of unwashed grapes and no salad (despite having ordered and paid for it).
We managed to get by on family love and party spirit, but had to quietly apologize to our guests and relatives for the disappointing food. Not the ideal topic of party conversation.
If you like getting ripped off, this is the caterer for you. If not, go elsewhere.

I have had the opportunity to attend several events where the catering was provided by Epit Of Eves and the food has always been superb! Everything from the flank steak to the strawberry shortcake is to die for. The strawberry shortcake is one of my personal favorites that I can have again and again.

This wonderful dinning experience is always coupled with amazing service. The staff at Epit of Eves are true professionals and you will not be disappointed.
