Freehands Craft Studio is a teaching and learning space in the Washington DC area that offers quality handicraft classes, parties, camps, and special events. With the instruction and guidance of our inspired artisans and makers, you can learn new skills and create meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces. We offer high-quality sewing, knitting, paper, and crafting lessons to both children and adults.

Established in 2013.
Freehands Craft Studio moved into its space in Silver Spring after a few years of private lessons in the area.
Meet the Business Owner
Kesa S.
Business Owner
Kesa Summers is a Midwestern girl at heart, but has loved living in Silver Spring for the last seven years. She is a certified elementary school teacher who left her classroom teaching position at the Lowell School when her family welcomed their third child. She has spent the last year and a half working as a tutor as well as giving private and group sewing lessons. She is starting Freehands Craft Studio with the hope that she can overlap two of her passions, teaching and making, while at the same time enriching her local community by providing a place where kids and adults can learn new skills and make along with her.
