The woman at this Minute Clinic did a bang-up job of trying to diagnose and respond to my problem. She recognized what she could not do and what she could and gave good advise in both cases. She also helped me with an insurance problem that could have stymied the whole thing.

This was hands-down the best healthcare experience I’ve had. Ever. I did a walk-in appointment for a soar-throat/be tested for STREP. I had maybe a 15 minute wait, while the nurse-practitioner finished the patient before me. The nurse was absolutely WONDERFUL, very nice and attentive — I just like I was in any other doctors office. She did the Strep Test/took my temperature. I had strep so she wrote a prescription that I then had filled at the pharmacy in the CVS. The whole thing took less than an hour! I thought the kiosk was amazing. I put in my last name, DOB, zipcode and it found me in their system! I’m never going to a PCP for little things like a soar-throat or vaccines again! I know minute clinic is relatively new, but I think now(in 2015) they’ve really worked out a lot of the kinks. I had a truly fantastic experience. And again, the staff here at this one on Georgia Ave(both the Nurse Practitioner and Pharmacists) are fantastic.

I went to CVS today to fill a prescription when I saw there was a Minute Clinic there offering Flu Shots. I thought… how convenient! I’ve been wanting to get the Flu shot so I can kill two birds with one stone. I went over to their kiosk and spent about 5 minutes filling out all the electronic forms. It showed that there was one person in front of me and the wait would be 54 minutes. I was given the option to get a text message when the wait was 30 minutes. I figured I’d come back to pick up my Rx and get the flu shot. Well it’s now 4 hours later and NO text message. I just called the Minute Clinic customer support. The person I talked to apologized for the«hiccup» and said that their kiosks«have a mind of their own that no one could control.» That I could go back now, as there are only 2 people there now with a 14 minute wait time. I told her NOTHANKYOU as it was convenient before and not now. I don’t have time for machines with ‘minds of their own’ . On principle alone, I’ll be looking for another place to get my vaccine.

I’ve been to the Minute Clinic before and had good experiences. But today I needed to drop a friend at the airport and then see a medical professional for a painful sore throat. The web-site said they would be open until 2:30 p.m. on New Years Eve. We got to the clinic a few minutes before 1:00 and their sign-in screen was off and there was a note pinned on it saying they would close at 2:15 that day. I asked two girls waiting how they had signed in and they told us the nurse had come out a few minutes before, turned off the sign-in screen and said she wanted to have everyone out by 2:15 so wasn’t taking any more patients. There were only the 2 girls waiting and they were obviously together. It did work well for us though, we were heading for Kensington when we noticed a new MedStar PromptCare clinic on Georgia Avenue and stopped there. That was a very good experience – will write a separate review.

The minute clinic system in general is a mismanaged clusterphuck. We called the only phone number available for all these clinics when someone decided to not show up to another location and do their job. The company rep on the phone said to go to this location an at 2pm you have an appointment. Guess what? We get there and the nurse says they don’t do that– it’s first come first serve and that we are not in the line. So we get in line and after 2 hours we get the tb test administered at another location checked. It took 2 mins but of course the whole process took over 5 hours! This organization does not know it’s own policies and has no respect for the time and money of it’s customers. AVOIDMINUTECLINICATALLCOSTS!
