Never AGAIN!!! No wonder they always have Groupon deals. No customer service, SLOW. My deep tissue massage was a complete waste of time. I will NEVER come back again

My very sweet friend got me a gift certificate to tea spa for my birthday. She must have looked on Unilocal to find a good spa place near my house because she lives on the west coast! Tea spa definitely did not disappoint. I requested a 90 minute deep tissue massage by a female therapist, but they didn’t have any more for the date I requested, so they asked if I wanted a male therapist or to reschedule. I said a male therapist was fine. The place was easy for me to find, and parking was not a problem the time/​date I went, which was on a Sunday afternoon. My masseuse was Ben, and he was amazing, focusing on the points where I had knots, which was my shoulders/​upper back from too much work stress. I felt like he paid a good amount of attention to every part of my body, and I was very relaxed and happy after my appointment.
Their membership looks like a good deal at $ 50 a year, with pretty big discounts on services. If you get a lot of massages, you should look into this.

I went here yesterday 1÷14÷16 3pm, location is good and easy to find, parking is on the other side in front of subway.
first I arrived 15 min. early to do my paper work as a first time costumer, I got the 60min. signature massage with foot scrub which is given to me by my lovely sis as a gift. Place is nice and cozy, the aura of relaxation is overwhelming that want you to go to the from right away but first I have to wait for my massage therapist. she came 10 min. before my appointment her name is Mimi very nice lady she prep the room and then take me for briefing and introduction.
i had a medium pressure body massage it was very relaxing, comfortable and miracle feeling to take away all of my body stress, the foot scrub at the end was amazingly relaxing telling you to come back for the next appointment. overall I like how early she came, the massage was outstanding and people are nice. definitely will recommended it’s worth it. of course don’t forget to leave gratuity on her envelope located at the desk at front.

Great Spa very friendly and helpful staff. The masseuse I had was great go see Jane if you need a good massage! They also have yearly memberships which is amazing for $ 49!

This place is great! My new go to spot for massages and facials. It’s small and short on ambience, but they make up for it with great techniques. I just had a 30 minute quick facial and my skin is glowing.
If you’re looking for a moderately priced spa (this is not high end), then I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I am very disappointed in the way my appointment was handled. So I have been to the Tea Spa before and it was ok. I had a massage and it was ok I have had better but it was a Groupon. My expectations were not very high but if I ever needed to go back I would have. So yesterday I called them because I was looking for a great place to get a wax and their prices were very decent. I called and the receptionist was very nice and said that she could take me same day in about 45 minutes. I told her I would take it because I was right down the street. So about five minutes later, after I changed my clothes and got comfortable so I could walk down the street the phone rang back and it was the receptionist. She said the esthetician wanted me to know that their would be an extra charge if she had to tweeze too many hairs after she waxed… wait what!!! How do you charge me for something that normally is apart of the service. And what is the determining tweeze that takes me over the number of tweezes I can have… do you see how stupid this sounds! It’s your job to tweeze. You all lost out on $ 45 which in itself is dumb because a full face wax should include eye brows… it is apart of the face last time I checked!
I would have been ok paying $ 15 for eye brows and $ 30 for the full face but it is an insult to charge as much as you do and then call me back talking about extra for a unknown threshold of tweezes. You all need to do better and I am very disappointed. I do appreciate the call ahead to let me know but I went somewhere else and got the exact same service for $ 30 which included my eye brows and they tweezed with no extra charge I gave them a really nice tip too. And when you really think about it what you were gonna charge extra for tweezing you probably would have made more in a tip. You lost more than just money but a potential client. For what it is worth you did me a favor. Saved me money and a headache!

I went back. Booked sauna and massage.
The sauna room was cold when I got there and I had to wait for about 20 min. Got into the sauna only for 10 min because the massage time was up. The masseur used tons of oil which I found disgusting. It took away all the pleasure of having a massage. I am not coming back.

OMG! Aly may have given me the best massage of my life. This was my third time to Tea Spa, I love them because they always provide wonderful deals via there websites and there massage therapist are extremely professional. The first two massages were wonderful, but this one just went above and beyond. The head massage and hand massage were my 2 favorite part. I wish I wasn’t moving otherwise I would make a monthly date with Aly. If you live nearby I highly recommend him!

I’m so happy with the assistance and level of customer service. I fell and hurt my neck the day before getting a massage. I was unable to turn my head; however, after one massage, my neck and back felt so great!
Signe, the receptionist, is so friendly and makes you feel right at home!

Used a couples groupon for the wife’s bday and it was an amazing first time experience. Everyone was friendly and professional. Definitely will return.

I came using a Groupon and I have zero compliants. They were professional, friendly and very thorough with the massage. This was my 1^st time having a professional massage and it is NOT last.
Its located in a mini shopping center in the cut but the inside is clean and peaceful. I can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I came in for a couples massage, I found out about them through a living social deal. The reason why I didn’t give five stars is because, Since I’m pregnant they decided to up charge me $ 25 plus the tip they were expecting to get. –not professional-​since I had already paid for the service. their bathroom is in the hallway outside of the spa and they share with another business, it was so dirty, since I’m pregnant my nausea is always present, with the smell of that bathroom, I almost threw up.
The massage for me was OK but my husband said that was the best massage his ever had, and him and I get massages together at least once a month so for him to say that, I had to give them a good review.
Everyone was very polite. And the spa itself was Clean

I’ve seen this place many times before since I live around the area. When I noticed there was such a great deal on Groupon especially for a 60 minutes couple’s massage, it was a done deal. I purchased the voucher for my boyfriend and I. I was happy how easy it was to redeem the voucher. Helen, who is amazing, booked my appointment. She was supper efficient and was able to book a time slot that was extremely convenient for us and answered all my annoying questions! I love that Tea Spa gives out confirmation calls the day before, saved me a phone call :)
The spa is in ‘the cut,’ but once you get to the spa, you can feel the relaxing environment. The receptionist on duty was extremely sweet, attentive, and helpful! (I’m so sorry, I can’t remember her name) She offered us tea while we fill out some paperwork.
We had Ben and Marilyn who were really great at what they do. My boyfriend and I were happy with our massages. We were so relaxed we didn’t want to leave.

I found Tea Spa through Groupon and I have only had professional massages through them or on a cruise. I’m no expert but they do a fantastic job. I go back twice a year. They have a membership you can sign up for that gives you discounted prices and a birthday treat!
They are tucked away in the middle of busy Wheaton with free parking by the Subway restaurant but if they’re full, there’s plenty of metered parking around. When you make your appointment, they always make sure you are aware of that fact and to arrive early. When you arrive, they offer you tea or water while you relax in their waiting area to calm music and dim lighting. They lead you back into your room and go over your intake form with you. Make sure they know what you are looking for in your massage (a relaxing one, sore muscles, deep deep tissue, etc.) they ask if you have any areas you dont want touched or you want the focus to be on.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. They play soft music and aromatherapy while you are getting your massage. I would suggest trying to not get an appointment during rush hour since the rooms are right against Georgia Ave and you can distantly hear the honking. It’s not very loud but it does minimally affect the atmosphere
Afterwards you can hang out in the waiting room to relax with some water or tea. I’ve never been steered to the door. I’ve personally sat in the waiting room for 20 mins after my massage just enjoying the relaxing atmosphere while I finished my tea.
I would definitely recommend Tea Spa to anyone looking for a relaxing get away nearby

When you have a special deal as an introduction to a new spa/​salon, it is a mixed bag. Most of the time, you should expect a taste of what you could experience as a regular customer. Isn’t that the point of the special offers — to draw in and persuade new customers to become regular clients? Well, I can say that this spa was not impressive at all in the sense of trying to persuade/​woo me to becoming a regular customer.
If it were just me and I didn’t see how other customers/​clients were addressed and helped, maybe I would go back, but… it seemed all around that clients/​customers were confused and asking for their special offers or clarification. There were 3 other clients/​customers while I was there, and 2 of them were having issues that seemed to be very challenging to be resolved. Plus, when I walked into the spa, the staff did not greet me or help me for several minutes because of the dilemma with one of the other clients. It made me feel unwelcome.
During my time there, I was surprised to see that there were at least 4 total staff folks working. I suppose they each had a specific job/​duty.
As for the special deal I had purchased, it was not honored in its entirety, and there wasn’t even any apology or question about that dilemma. Very strange.
The actual experience, or part of it, for what I received, was 50 minutes long. Of those 50 minutes, 15 minutes were for me to relax/​«mask» at the end. Really? I realize the value of that part of the process, but, it just confirmed for me that the experience was only mediocre at best. For a cleansing facial experience, I kind of expect a little bit more. Facial massages are also nice, but, if that’s half of the rest of the time, umm… ok, I guess.
Finally, the weather is heating up, but it’s the DC metropolitan area. Hot weather is not anything new, surprising or unexpected. So, if I am supposed to be relaxing at a spa, when I feel uncomfortably warm, that’s not a good sign — especially since I become cold very easily. For me to be uncomfortably warm, I feel bad for everyone else! The HVAC system either needs work, or, they need to make the summer environment a bit friendlier to patrons.
The hours and location are somewhat convenient, as the hours are longer into the evening, and the location allows for finding parking within a block (street or across from the spa).
Overall, I am hesitant to return, as I might melt if the weather is any warmer. Besides, I can massage my own face and put on a mask– much cheaper at home.

Con: it’s on a main road so you can hear motocycles, fire trucks, ect. But it’s not that bad.

Not a bad place, and for the value, it was a pretty good experience. It’s not the most luxurious spa I’ve been to. Bought a Groupon for a couple’s massage, which neither of us had ever tried before. Our massages lasted 50 minutes, not a minute more or a minute less. Massages were not bad, but slightly painful at times. The location of this place is at a very busy intersection, so you will hear horns honking, bass, etc., which is not so relaxing. You can park for free in the Subway lot, which would’ve been good to know in advance. If you don’t have cash for a tip, you can put it on your credit card. We weren’t offered any tea (despite the name), just tiny Dixie cups of water after our massages.

First off I will start with the location. It’s suspect. Area is hood. However once you are inside the spa, the serene environment negates the neighborhood.
Now I do not know if it were the extra strength Tylenol I took in preparation or Sherrie’s technique but baby I felt nothing. I did not flinch. I did not guard. I didn’t have to deeply exhale. I have been waxing for at least 8 years and never have I ever had a painless waxing experience until today. Sherrie is dope. Very cool. Very chill. Her technique is so smooth I just knew in my head once I take a look there will be hairs. Nope. None. Zero. Zilch! I will most definitely be back for a monthly visit. Go to Sherrie for a Brazilian wax. Amazing work!
