Kitsap Credit Union, Highlands Branch

This is by far the best branch at the kitsap credit union. The employees are so nice and helpful when you have questions. I believe their fees are fair and that if you how to manage your money better, you wont get any fees anyways! I see so many rude comments from people who obviously don’t know how to manage their money or their reactions! you don’t get what you want by being a bully.

Kitsap Credit Union was an amazing credit union. i would have lost my house (due to ex husband) if I had my home loan with any other institution The CU saw proof in what was going on in my life and worked with me for several years until I could resume my normal payments on time again. I thought it was a great credit union before and during the time that I had issues.
The negative changes began with the Credit Union when they changed their computer system in 2014. They have been inconsistent with their service and are charging for services that they did not used to charge for.

After over 14 years of being a customer, 4 different loans and seven accounts, me and my entire family are closing all of our accounts because of the numerous times we’ve been dissatisfied with our treatment by different employees. I’ve had issues having access to my own money so many times I’ve lost count. I’ve had breaches of my account because of their poor security measures. I’ve had them place holds on checks without even making the attempt to verify funds. I’ve had issues depositing in the atm and drive thru. I’ve received nasty grams for depositing too much in the atm. Ilyou can only do 5 transfers a month and they charge you a ton if you run out of transfers (which you can’t know the total of) I had to complain to the PO branch manager because they placed negative remarks on my business account causing issues everytime my husband (of another race) came in to deposit checks but when I came in, no problem. It has interfered with my ability to make money in the construction industry. About 10 days ago I came in to get a replacement card and sat down with someone who ordered me one. It took 10 days to get it. So, every grocery store visit, every tank of gas, I had to withdrawal cash. Very inconvenient. When I received the card I called the number to activate only to be told they couldn’t activate that card and they told me to go into the branch for yet, another card. Guess what? The front desk guy, Josh, treated me like I was lying about ever receiving a card and told me it would be another 10 days or they would charge me for it. He didn’t even attempt to try to ask to have the fees waived. He gave me attitude and was very rude, slow and stern. After he groomed the assistant manager I spoke to «Mo» who acted like I was asking for her children’s college fund or something. She point blank told me that I had to pay to get a working card even though they already sent me one that didn’t work. She didn’t offer any other solutions and never apologized for the poor customer service I’d received by Josh. After I explained how long of a customer I’d been and that waiving the fee was the right thing to do and she denied me, I asked if five dollars was worth losing my business where she replied, «I guess so». After closing a handful of accounts by a very professional and understanding teller I came home and decided to write this to warn other families and business owners to avoid this credit union. They will NOT allow you to conduct business as you should. I never had this many issues with any other bank previously or any other one of my banks. Use them at your own risk. –shafted after 14 years.

Kitsap CU used to be wonderful. They weren’t always about making a dollar off their members. In the last six months they’ve sent me a new card with no notice and turned off my old card, so I was charged many overdraft fees.
Then they overhaul their systems which are bipolar with allowing money transfers. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. So I was recently charged $ 140 in charges due to trying for TWO DAYS to move money from my biz accounts and personal accounts, etc. obviously it wasn’t letting me move the money cause the charges keep racking up! The customer service reps treat you like a criminal now, instead of a member. It’s actually shameful.
They also for the last year wouldn’t let me perform business deposits via an ATM… however…now since i was crying on the phone I was told I could perform those deposits. So what’s the real answer kitsap?! Yes? No?
Kitsap you are losing my business unless you change your practices. Making money off your members by changing your software so that we can’t move our money around is not ok.

Kitsap Credit Union is simply the best! I was with US Bank and their customer service was AWFUL, so I left. I have my car loan through Kitsap and I couldn’t be happier. Anytime I come into a branch the wait times are short, and the staff is efficient. I normally hate dealing with banks, but I always leave satisfied, with a smile every time! Thanks Kitsap!
