Since when did working at J. Crew mean you had to be a snob? Walked in yesterday with stars in my eyes after seeing the cutest pair of shorts only to have the tall, thin, brunette look over her shoulder at me from her perch on the counter and follow me with her eyes without ever offering a ‘hello’ or ‘good morning’. I shrugged it off to her just being a brat only to have another young girl who worked there squeeze between me and the scarf rack without ever making eye contact or saying excuse me. CORPORATE: get some secret shoppers in there and fire the brats with no manners. Their attitudes turned me off in such a way that I refused to buy the shorts that brought me into the store in the first place.

Stopped by this Outlet store on my way back down to Denver this last weekend and was not that impressed by the experience. The staff was not at all helpful and made me feel like I was interrupting them by asking questions or help finding particular items. Most of the items were only 20−30% off which left their relatively limited selection of styles and sizes a little underwhelming in terms of value. I’ll probably check in here again next time I’m going through Silverthorne since I really like their clothes but I hope the experience will be a little more welcoming.

Very small store with lower prices than regular J Crew. J Crew seems to have gotten a big head recently and raised their prices up to ridiculous proportions, so their outlet is their attempt to reach the common man(or woman). I was on a mission for a dress to wear to a wedding, and I found a great one on clearance for $ 30. Can’t beat that. There were quite a few workers there for such a small store. I didn’t like that the fitting rooms open directly out into the store, so everyone can watch you come out to show your friend/mom/spouse what you’re trying on… but with limited space, I guess you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do!

I like J. Crew. I feel a bit like the black sheep walking into the store because my name isn’t Muffy, I don’t play tennis, and I’ve never been to Cape Cod, but I can still find clothes here I like. I have to say, however, that the outlet is missing some key outlet qualities. Quality, singular, really. The prices hardly differ from the regular stores! How, may I ask you, does that qualify this store as an outlet? I’m baffled, so I hope you have an answer. They have sales pretty regularly, but they don’t bring down the prices sufficiently. I have really long legs so when I found a pair of cute sweatpants that were long enough, I bought ‘em. I paid about $ 40 for them! And they were on sale! I’m not giving them anything better than 3 stars until they start acting like the«Factory Store» they mistakenly call themselves.
