History

Established in 1995.

Founded in 1995 to establish a destination performing arts venue in Summit County, The Lake Dillon Foundation for the Performing Arts officially organized the Sunset at the Summit Concert Series at the Dillon Amphitheatre in joint venture between the LDFPA and Town of Dillon. Soon after, the Lake Dillon Theatre Company was organized to produce theatre in the old Town Hall building on Lake Dillon Drive. After several successful years as a community theatre, newly appointed Producing Artistic Director Chris Alleman continued the LDTC’s legacy of quality theatre while driving the organization to expand its existing programming and instituted the first Summer Stock programming in Summit County in 2004. Now, The Lake Dillon Theatre Company is the only professional theatre company in Summit County and is ranked as one of the top ten theatres outside Denver and in 2010 received the Denver Post Ovation Award for Best Year by a Company.

Business Owner

Chris has been the Artistic Director at the LDTC since 2002. He initiated the Summer Repertory program and significantly expanded the programming for both the LDTC and the FREE Sunset at the Summit Summer concert series. Chris has received many awards included the 2007 Non-​Profit professional of the year and the 2010 Denver Post Ovation award for Best Director of a Musical for Summer 2010’s prodcuction of HAIR.
