Specialties

Wines of the world, local wineries, boutique wineries, imported beers, full bar, imported meats, cheeses, small plate dining, desserts. Located in a historic building in the heart of Silverton, creekside. We also offer private parties on site or catered events at yours.

History

Established in 2004.

Having been in the wholesale distribution business for 25+ years, and selling it, I now have the time to once again «have fun» with wine and people. I have never been a fan of intimidation wine speak, in fact I strongly believe wine is meant to be enjoyed without «rules», «points», or intimidation.

Howard Hinsdale Cellars specializes in small producers, some unknowns, from not only Oregon, but wines from around the globe. We offer small plate dining featuring in season local produce and ingredients whenever possible. We have ongoing «events» such as «Classic Movie Night’s» on Wednesday’s, wine tastings/classes, food/wine pairings, live music/art shows/and catering for on/off site events.

Howard Hinsdale Cellars is located on Silver Creek in the heart of Historic Silverton, Oregon. Silverton is the home of The Oregon Garden and Silver Falls Park. It is also in the center of the East Valley Wine region, a relatively unknown Oregon Wine region until recently.

Meet the Business Owner

Howard H.

Business Owner

Born in Portland Or and grew up in Reedsport Oregon. After serving in the military went in to the wine distribution business with John Henny. We sold imported wines from a small warehouse operation then expanded the business into what became one of the largest distributorships in the State of Oregon. Sold the business in 1994. I opened a small boutique wine distributorship and ooperated that until 2004 when I purchased Silver Creek Coffee House which then expanded into Howard Hinsdale Cellars.
