Little Explorers Preschool Academy

I decided to post my original review and update since it all still holds true almost 2 years later!
We spent a huge amount of time touring all the preschools in Simi Valley looking for the best fit for our two kids. Toward the end of my search, I was a little tired of the things I was seeing and frankly frustrated at my options — that is until I found Little Explorers Preschool Academy!
When I walked into Little Explorers, my first impression was sheer delight. I met with the director who answered all my questions and gave me a full tour of the school.
Here was what I saw:
The children were happy and engaged
The teachers were smiling and didn’t seem overwhelmed
The classrooms were clean and the décor was bright and full of art
Bathrooms were clean and they smelled sanitized as well.
The food they serve to the kids had well-​balanced options that I would feed them at home.
I happily signed on with them and started a few months ago. I waited to write this review so that I could be really clear to Moms like me who are relying on these to find a great preschool for their children.
Both kids love the school. My older daughter is in the two year old room and my younger one is in the toddler room. Both have really blossomed since starting there. They have a truly wonderful program here.
My comment on Management is they are competent, intelligent and caring. I am extremely confident in my children being here full time. If one child is sick they always ask how they are.

As many Mommy’s do… I went to several preschools looking for the perfect one for my daughter. Our first choice was NOT the best experience, leading us to look for a new school. This is when we happened upon Little Explorers. My daughter, who used to cry when I dropped her off, and drag her feet to school before, has completely changed her outlook since we started here. She LOVES school now, loves her teacher and the activities, and I feel just fantastic and at ease when I drop her off. Ms. Corinne is just the best, and so is Ms. Lisa. My daughter LOVES them and loves to tell me about all the things she did at school. Ms. Shini is amazing as well, always kind and ready to help and answer any question you have. I love Little Explorers! So does my daughter, and it seems all of the children I have seen there are absolutely happy as can be. Highly recommend this school!!!

I can not say enough great things about this school. We moved our daughter from Pinecrest to here and to say they «rescued» us would be an understatement. Our daughter was labeled as a problem child there and emotionally abused to the point she was terrified of school in general. Even passing by it makes her cry. She has been at Little Explorers for a month now and has completely turned around! no more acting out at home and she RUNS to the front door every morning instead of hiding in her room crying. The teachers and directors here can’t be matched! A good school or daycare is no good if the teachers aren’t good and the teachers here are AMAZING! You can tell they REALLY love what they do and they have enough patience and love to share with every single child. I went from getting phone calls at work to come pick up my «problem child» at least once a week to never getting a call! I now find myself calling THEM to make sure everything is okay lol! With every call they say everything is fine and she is doing great. They keep their weekly plans diverse which keeps active and independent children from getting bored while still staying within a «routine». Being parents here with no family to help, their parents night out is also an amazing perk. Once a month for $ 25 all this kids get a movie and pizza party from 6:30 — 9:30pm at the school. It’s so nice that they thought of this. Our daughter looks forward to the play time and «mini» sleep over so to speak and we as parents enjoy the guaranteed dinner out alone. We like that she is not only in a safe place but with people she already knows and loves.
We only have one daughter who is almost 3 but if we have anymore we will be using them again for our next. Their infant room is the nicest I have seen of ANY of the facilities anywhere in Simi. Little Explorers is a blessing and we will be sad when she starts Kindergarten because that means leaving them.

My daughter loves this school– She looks forward to it every day! They also offer after school activities (dance, sports) which is great because I work a lot and wouldn’t be able to take her to those things otherwise. Thanks so much, Little Explorers Preschool!

My son has been with this school for a little over a year. We came from another preschool that was a very negative experience and seriously affected his self confidence. He was singled out as a trouble maker. After coming here he really has blossomed. The teachers really looked inside him to help him bring up his self confidence. He is truly loved like he is part of the family here and it shows with him. He has been so happy here. The staff here cared about his well being and sat down and discussed with us some initial concerns and really listened to us as well and we worked together. The teachers here really care and treat the kids like their own. They are creative and get to know each child individually and help them thrive. Ultimately, he is comfortable here and with his time here is now ready to go to Kindergarten. As a parent, I felt comfortable to express my concerns and gratitude at any time. The time he has spent at this school has been priceless and we are so happy to have found this place.

This is a fabulous school! We are new to the area and decided on this school after touring a few others. I’m so glad we did. The teachers are fantastic. They’re nurturing but are able to establish boundaries within the classroom. The curriculum is fun, engaging and leaves me feeling confident that my child is academically prepared. My son loves attending school and adjusted within one week of starting. The administration has also been helpful and responsive to any questions or concerns! If you’re deciding where to send your child (ren), I would seriously look into this place!

I am so glad that we were recommended Little Explorers by a fellow mom. We have been here for only about a month but my 3 year old twins love it! They love their teachers and are excited about going to school. To me, that is the most important factor! Both Ms. Shini and Ms. Tracy are always available to answer questions. The class rooms are big and clean. My kids came back home at the end of the month with piles of art-​work. They have many fun events going on every week and they recently started date-night’s for the parents every last friday of the month.
Overall, we are very happy with our choice!

I love this school! We toured nearly every preschool in Simi before we came across Little Explorers; this one has it all. The classrooms are large and plentiful, yet their arrangement makes the building feel intimate and connected. Even more impressive is the massive main yard (your child will be impressed), which is complimented with two sides yards and a pool. Beyond the facilities, what really sold us was the director and her staff. They were knowledgeable, experienced, and engaged and we’ve only been further impressed since. The programs and monthly themes are fantastic, and even the addition programs offered from outside vendors are top notch. Couldn’t imagine our kids at another school.

A lot to be learned within management. To accuse your paying client of spreading rumors when the conversation is with your director, is ignorant! I will give my 15k plus a year for 2 kids to another school that knows the difference between having a required conversation with staff and spreading rumors. Good luck!

My son started at this school prior to the ownership change. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the new owners but it has been terrific and I am very pleased. The new director, Ms Shini has breathed new life into the school. Some great programs have been brought in, fun activities are scheduled on a regular basis and the school seems to be running more efficiently. The teachers are great and I feel confident leaving my son in their hands.

My son just started at Little Explorers and it has been a breath of fresh air! The communication has been excellent between the staff and myself, I finally know what my 3 year old does when he is at school and I couldn’t be happier. I look forward to watching my son explore the world with the guidance of the little explorers staff.
