Meet the Manager
Len L.
Manager
Over 20 years ago, Lawrence made a conscious decision to dedicate his professional life to the nonprofit Jewish community. After spending nine years with the Union for Reform Judaism, Lawrence joined the staff of Mount Sinai, a place he has called home for the past 13 years. He brought with him a degree in psychology from NYU and a string of professional titles ranging from corporate management to president, but Lawrence firmly believes his most significant contribution is to be of service to the community.
When asked how he deals with death and dying all day, his answer is simple – you don’t. A cemetery is not a place for death; it’s a house for the living. What can be done for the deceased is the mitzvah of honoring the body and treating it with with dignity according to tradition, and continuing to serve the living through memorialization.
