Petal Pusher

I met the owner of this shop when we ordered several arrangements for a client appreciation event. Phil was so enthusiastic, offered amazing ideas and even let us stick around to show us a few flower arranging techniques. One of the things that I love about the shop is how committed to our satisfaction Phil was. He went above and beyond and really made us some fabulous centerpieces. He loves what he does and it shows. Will be using them in the future and would recommend to family and friends.

Sent my mom flowers from here on Mother’s Day and she really liked them. As a plus, I called on the Friday before Mother’s Day and they were able to have the flowers delivered the next day (Saturday). Like most places, they didn’t deliver on Sunday but that was expected. I have only ordered from one other local florist and the prices may have been just a tad higher at Petal Pusher but it definitely was not a huge difference (delivery is $ 11 in Simi).
My mom sent me some photos of the flowers and they looked gorgeous. In her own words– «They are so beautiful with unusual colors. Used all my favorite colors too.» The arrangement was also unique, had tons of bright colors, and the flowers look super fresh (full disclosure, I haven’t seen the flowers in person but my mom sent me several pictures).
Definitely recommend ordering flowers directly from your local stores– you get more personal service and usually end up paying less as well. Plus it is great to support local small businesses.

I met Phil today and purchased a custom bouquet that my wife absolutely loves! He made the bouquet in minutes — the colors are vibrant, they smell so fresh and the flowers compliment one another. I’ll definitely be back for future floral needs. I’m very happy to have found this shop, Phil is great at what he does, very customer focused, and just an all around great guy! I’m not at all surprised that he’s been in business for over 22 years.

I called Phillip ten minutes before closing for the day and he took his time to explain the type of flowers I wanted and the arrangement. What a delight! My best friend received this amazing arrangement of exotics flowers (one type which was only available for two weeks out of the year — March). I have NEVER seen such a beautiful arrangement and would not have believed this was so easy. Thank you Phillip for taking the time to assist me at the very last minute, AND be so professional and friendly. I will never go to 1 – 800 Flowers again! :)

I was delivered a BEAUTIFUL flower arrangement for my birthday yesterday from my best friend. When I got them I called her to thank her for the most beautiful «exotic» flowers I have ever seen. She told me she ordered them from Petal Pusher over the phone and asked for something exotic… wow! They nailed it!!! When she came over to see the flower arrangement in person she was very pleased and she told me how friendly and helpful the person she spoke to on the phone was when she ordered them. I LOVE MY FLOWERS! :) They are colorful, fresh, and fragrant. Petal Pusher did an amazing job! I am very pleased and so is my friend who ordered them. We both will only use this place for now on!

Over the years here in Simi, I have used other flower shops but they all fall in quality. Phil takes care of me each and every time and the arrangements last! I have gotten other arrangements from a shops that will remain nameless but they arrived at my house looking dead! Recently placed order and it arrived at my house bright and beautiful! every time my wife passes by the arrangement she takes a good smell and is a happy camper. My husband was so pleased today with the orchid flowers and dark chocolates I ordered for him. I know it is the other way around for a change coz he deserve to feel loved as well! Bouquet I orders for my wife’s birthday turned out great. Also got a bunch of balloons. 100% satisfied.

I had a very positive experience when I called Petal Pushers at the last minute on Valentine’s Day. It had been a horrendous day due to unforeseen circumstances, so it was difficult to get time to place an order earlier. Then when I started to try call in an order, the other florists in the area were not very accommodating and even rude that I would call so late. Not at Petal Pushers. He was very patient and professional when taking my order and the delivery person even came in to help her with them. They delivered a gorgeous bouquet in a beautiful vase. She was thrilled and so was I. I will now be using them as my go-​to florist! Great place and good prices. Wonderful experience!

This florist knowingly accepted fulfilling an FTD online order by only putting 15 stems of flowers when the order called for 24 stems. The owner delivered the flowers «hoping» that this would not be caught. After calling the owner to request the correct arrangement, he was not willing to fix the order as placed online. Avoid stores that have unethical practices and are not willing to do the right thing for the customer.

Phil is a unique and fun florist. I like to find someone with personality and that is Phil. He doesn’t ever rush you through your flower arrangement decisions. His flowers are fresh, very fresh, they last forever. His prices are affordable. He knows what he is doing. I recommend Petal Pushers to everyone I know!

Unfortunately, I had this place do my flowers for my wedding last October. The owner was pretty rude and stand-​off-​ish at first, but once we both found out we had sick senses of humor, he was ok.
We sat down and discussed, in detail, the plans for the wedding. My husband and I are strange people, so we had some off-​beat, strange wedding colors. After talking with the owner and building a bit of a rapprt, I was convinced he was going to be able to pull it off. The arrangements were going to be black bacarra’s (the roses that are sooooo deep-​deep-​deep red that they appear black), green roses (the ones he showed me at the time of the first visit WERE green), and purple orchids. The price was reasonable. He decorated the wedding venue we were at before, so all seemed good to go.
Day of the wedding. The gorgeous, rich purple, black and green flowers I had imagined in my head were like Wienerschnitzel flowers. Yeah, red and yellow. With the purple orchids.
«They just didn’t come out as dark as we discussed…» was his only reply.
Bah. Hideous.
In the scheme of things they didn’t look horrendous, but it was waaaaaay off par of what I was expecting.
Oh, I think he neglected to shower the day of, as well. Wow. Nothin’ like a stinky, attitude-​ridden, Wienerschnitzel-​colored flower-​toting weirdo for your florist.
«Reasonable» prices for a reason.
