As a pet owner from a very young age I have developed a love of animals and an understanding of what it means to be a pet owner and what pets mean to a family. After working in the business world, I wanted to do something that would help people and if possible involve animals.

The result is that I have chosen to start my own Pet Sitting business. Being a professional pet sitter means that I take full responsibility for your pets, their safety, comfort and security. I will tend to their needs as instructed and make sure that when you return they will be healthy and stress free.

In order to provide the highest level of service, I am a member of Pet Sitters International, the largest professional organization of Pet Sitters. Through my organization I stay updated on the latest trends in pet care as well as receiving in service training on a variety of subjects related to the well being of our furry and feathered family members.

This business switched owners over the summer and now, HORRIBLE.
Does not return calls, does not return emails, does not respond at all. I was NOT able to schedule an appointment at all. So unprofessional, so unhappy.
Had to find a petsitter on Facebook by asking friends/​colleagues/​family. Saved me money and I ended up getting great a trustworthy, reliable petsitter :)
I miss the previous owner!

Erin, aka «the Furry Godmother of the Conejo Valley» is without exception the best pet sitter with whom I have ever done business. She is extremely organized, extremely professional, and very, very responsible. Everything is spelled out in writing and communicated thoroughly between Erin and her clients ahead of time, so you know when you are gone exactly what she is doing for you and your pets. Then, while you are gone. Erin texts or emails you daily photos and updates on your pets, so you have no worries as to their well being. While she was caring for my pets during August of 2015 the weather became extraordinarily hot. At my request, my dogs were scheduled to be walked at noon and in the evening; Erin realized that the heat was too brutal for the pups, texted me her concern, and with my okay rearranged her schedule to walk them during the cooler morning hours.
When Erin takes care of them, all of my pets are happy, healthy, and my home is in perfect condition when I return. I really can not praise Erin enough. It is so rare to find someone whom you can unreservedly trust with your pets’ care, and she is that rare person.

Erin is the best. Daily pictures and communication. When dog made a mess in kitchen she checked with us where we keep cleaning supplies and handled all of it. When we came home, she wanted us to check in with her to make sure she didn’t need to make an additional visit in case we were delayed. Highly recommended

We recently moved to the area. Dale came over to meet our pups, and review our neighborhood for coyote activity (we have small dogs). During the meeting, both my dogs took to her immediately. That’s saying something as my female tends to be reserved. We decided to err on the side of caution and leave the dogs in during the night, and let them out in the morning. While we were gone, I received pics and a text for each visit letting me know all was well. I arrived home, and while my dogs missed me as much as I missed them, they were clearly well taken care of. Oh.. and the dog poo was also picked up. How about THAT for exceptional service!

Dale and her staff are very professional and they truly love animals. We were going out of town and had to leave our kitty, who has been quite ill. I was dreading it, until I met Dale and her helper, Amber. I was able to leave with no concerns and truly enjoy our trip. They sent us emails each time they visited, letting us know how things were going. I will be using them exclusively in the future.

Dale is the best pet sitter I’ve ever had. Along with her husband who helps her out from time to time I’ve never had a pet sitter that’s had better communication and attention to details.
I’ve used Dale during both Holidays and mid-​year vacation. She always does a walkthrough to get details on your pets care and see if anything has changed since her last visit. Then, while sitting, she sends you a daily email or text to keep you informed on your pet’s condition. She is willing to work with you when a schedule changes and is very friendly.
After having some terrible pet-​sitting experiences in the past, I cannot recommend this business enough!

I hired the Furry Godmother after reading the Unilocal reviews and meeting her at a Thousand Oaks dog event .
The Furry Godmother did not disappoint. She was very friendly, professional, prompt and thourough at our first «meet and greet.» At that time she and my dog seemed to really like each other. I wasn’t sure about my own vacation timeline and the Furry Godmother went through and recommended the best options for me. I at first ended up going with 1 visit the first day, 3 the next and 1 on the day I was to return home. At the last minute I changed my 1st visit to 2 and she was very accomodating. Then, at the really last minute, I asked if she could do one more visit on the day I was to return as I was running late home. She took on that extra visit right away.
She texted me each time she was with the dog to give me updates. She cleaned up all the doggie doos outside. She also brought in the newspapers and the mail.
Best of all, my dog, although happy to see us home, did not seem too anxious or antsy, and appeared to have been well taken care of. This is the first time I have left my dog with a stranger, and it worked out great.
I will definitely be using the Furry Godmother for future petsitting services and will recommend her to all my friends and anyone looking for a pet sitter.

Just came back after a week away and TFG did an amazing job caring for our two cats and looking after our home while we were away. Daily updates and attentive questions made us realize quickly we were dealing with a professional. Having just relocated to SoCal, finding a good petsitter is one of the hardest things along with doctors! Previously, we had a vet tech so our expectations were high. Dale exceeded them and when we arrived home, the cats were obviously well fed, watered and pampered while we were gone. Thanks, Dale, amazing job!

Dale is the best pet sitter ever! I had a special situation — in the middle of a relocation and had only been in my temporary apartment for 10 days with my cat, who is very shy and whose health isn’t the best. Plus she was stressed out from the recent move to a new place. My Kitty hardly even shows herself to strangers but she was OK being with Dale from the very beginning. I was concerned for My Kitty’s well-​being since I was going to be on another continent for ten days but Dale gave me twice-​daily e-​mail updates and even sent pictures! She put my mind at ease and took VERY good care of My Kitty. I highly recommend The Furry Godmother of Conejo Valley!

We were very pleased with the service we received from The Furry Godmother. She is easy to communicate with, detail oriented, but not fussy. She took excellent care of our 3 cats, and they really liked her. We feel so lucky to have found such a professional and warm person to be our pet sitter. With Dale taking care of our home and animals, my husband and I are finally geting away more. We are so comfortable leaving everything in her hands while we’re gone. She goes above and beyond in her care of your pets. On our last vacation, Dale called to tell us that our cat’s food was running low, and she went to our vet to purchase the special food our cat needed. She called us everyday to let us know how things were going, took the trash cans out to the curb, brought in the mail and papers, and left lights on at night to make it look like someone was home. Our dogs got their daily walks, and I never worried about their safety because Dale changed course if there were any stray dogs on the route. I really can’t think of any emergency she wouldn’t be able to handle. We even planned what to do with our elderly cat’s body should she pass away while we were gone! (Don’t worry-she’s still here-​20 years old and feisty as ever!) Before planning any vacation, Dale is first person we call-​we wouldn’t think of leaving of home and pets to anyone else!

We were in a bit of a pinch, about to head out of town for a week, when our scheduled dog sitter flaked out on us. Feeling tight on time, we knew we had to be very thorough with a new sitter and at least one backup for that sitter. As a result, we interviewed 6 pet sitters before we chose Dale.
Our interview process was pretty straight forward: we invited the prospective sitters over and had our Shepherd tell us which he liked the most. We chose Dale, because she was the most calm and experienced with the GSD. The GSD really responded to Dale’s confidence, much more so than with any other service we interviewed. We also have a BC who is quite high energy, and we liked that Dale knew how to deal with such a psycho breed.
In the interview, Dale proactively shared her licensing information, requirements for contact information, recommendations, etc. In the interview, Dale showed her professionalism in a way that was bounds ahead of others we interviewed.
While we were gone, Dale called every day to give a status update (she also can do texts or emails if you prefer). Based on talking to her on the phone while we were gone, I gathered that she was really in-​tune with our dogs (e.g., she mentioned that the GSD didn’t like loud sounds from the church across the street). I was really encouraged by her attentiveness and impressed by her ability to understand the dogs’ personalities.
Dale’s prices aren’t cheap, but they are in line with others we priced out. Overall, I would definitely recommend her to others who care about finding top-​quality and reliable care for their four-​legged loved ones while away.
