This review is based solely upon the Old Orchard location — not the website, or any other retail location. Listen, I like Aldo shoes. Am I a fashionista? No, but Aldo offers some cool shoes at decent prices. Granted, the quality is not Mephisto or Kenneth Cole quality, but they offer some really cool styles. Unfortunately, I had to return a pair of shoes that I bought at the Old Orchard store last Friday. My return experience is as follows: I walk into this particular Old Orchard store, where I have bought numerous pair of shoes from before, and placed my pair of shoes on the counter for return. These shoes had not been worn, and the receipt was in the bag. No problem, right? Usually not. But, not with the shoe bitch manning the counter this morning. Have you ever seen the show Married With Children? Of course you have. Do you remember Al Bundy, the shoe salesman? Sure you do. Well, this Aldo employee looked dead up like Peggy Bundy, except with blonde hair. ME: I’d like to return these shoes. BLONDEPEGGYBUNDY: Okay, do have your receipt? ME: Yes, I do! BLONDEPEGGYBUNDY: Do yo have the credit card with you? ME: I don’t know which credit card I used. Does it matter? BLONDEPEGGYBUNDY: Well, I can’t return these shoes unless you physically have the credit card on you. ME: So, if I bought these shoes on your website, would I have to physically mail my credit card back with the shoes in order for the return dept. to credit my card? BLONDEPEGGYBUNDY: {Think bubbles floating above her head} Uhhh, I don’t know… ME: I know sweetheart… you really do not know. I walked out. Am I wrong to believe that customer service has died? I like Aldo shoes and will continue to purchase them — -just NOT at this location!

I love Aldo shoes! Out of the last ten pairs of shoes I have bought, at least 5 are from Aldo. I recently bought 2 pairs of Steve Madden’s, but Aldo is my first love. My friends’ joke around and tell me I must have been a female in another life because I own«too many» shoes. I have 12 pairs in rotation including bball and tennis kicks, is that too much for a straight guy? I am starting to question my sexuality now haha!

My name is Giovanna and I am a certified border-line shoe addict. I started shopping at Aldo Shoes when I lived in Canada, or better yet, I *window-shopped* at Aldo during those younger years. The family would never allow the teen version of me to frivolously spend — guilt-free — more than what we would spend on our weekly food budget to buy the«other» necessities of life, such as shoes and the likes. But I think I’m going off tangent here. Now that I am able to afford more than the $ 15 limit on shoes, I was ecstatic to find Aldo here in Chicago. A lot of their shoes are very comfortable, but rest assured that those that aren’t make up for it in the hotness department. Why the low score then? Well, the major reason is because of the lousy(I’m keeping it clean here) service I received at this particular branch. To sum it all up, the women working there during«the incident» were unbelievably unprofessional(again, keeping it clean) and I had to walk out before I stoop to their level and cuss them all out. Instead, I decided to do the practical thing, which at the time was to call the main office and complain. In the end, after a few failed attempts to contact the regional manager and tell her of my tale of woe(and hopefully get some type of discount on my next purchase), I let it go — it just wasn’t worth my time. I’m never going back to the Old Orchard branch again.

This place was a mess and no one offered to help me. I like the shoes though.
