Computer Drive

They are smart, and friendly but they are hustlers & very expensive. I could go on with my story, and it sort of sound like all the other hidden stories on Unilocal.Basically they take money and don’t do the work, very frustrating.

Had a printer fixed there a few years ago with no problem. So, I recently brought my laptop computer in as it wouldn’t boot up… and did not have a good experience.
I was told over the phone that a new hard drive was needed and they would install a «hybrid» hard drive — part solid state memory. The prices they charged were different than quoted and they charged for services I didn’t ask for. When I got my computer home, I took the cover off to see the new hard drive, it was a standard drive… and a slower speed than my original drive. I confronted them about this «change» they offered to put another hard drive in for more cost, but I didn’t want to leave my computer with them again. After several uncomfortable conversations to «negotiate» what I should owe them, my computer works fine, but I’m sure I paid too much. Now, I don’t really know that my hard drive needed replacement in the first place. Overall, a painful experience.
I won’t be going back, but if you decide to go…
1. Get a quote in writing for everything.
2. If they are going to install parts, get the make and model number in writing in advance, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Also… The manager/​owner never returned my messages.

Consistently consumer-​oriented and personalized individual care. Naveed, one of the owners, was 1^st out to my house in 2008, and established a warm working relationship. He now deals with corporate clients, Amin, just as erudite and personable as Naveed, is excellent listener, grasps issues instantly, and can advise what’s necessary to get the job done correctly, the first time, at really reasonable costs, along with a friendly and supportive attitude. Everyone at Computer Drive seems to have the same customer focused orientation.
Cannot recommend Computer Drive highly enough. Since 2008 they’ve yet to let me down!
You cannot get this personal attention, or investment, from Geek Squad… or ANYWHERE else.

I needed my keyboard replaced on my Mac book (damaged it cleaning, sigh) and while I was at it, figured I could use a little upgrade… I ended up getting a newer, larger hard drive and a freshly installed keyboard in less than 24 hours. Super fast service, friendly, and got the job done. I would definitely return if I needed to.

Brought our business Toshiba laptop here for repair. They diagnosed the problem as a faulty motherboard, and they (supposedly) ordered it. Then time started to pass. Every day it was the same story — the part was being shipped soon. Then it was «in shipment» from Canada — according to them, it was still «in shipment» after a week. Finally, called and told them we were picking up the machine to find another repair shop. Within 20 minutes received a call telling us the part would be received next day. So, they went from «we cannot trace the part» assuring us they’d have it next day — all because of our threat to pick up the machine? We still don’t have the macine — Will publish a follow-​up note once we get it back into our hands. But for now — we are not impressed. Have had other identical computers repaired and never got a runaround as we did from this company.

I needed a new fan for my computer and so I went to this place (it was actually recommended to me buy the guy working at the local Best Buy!). The guys here were great at helping me out and they had the part in stock. Their prices were really reasonable, and they even installed the part for me for only a few extra dollars. I really liked the service at this store and will definitely go back here again if the need arise!
