History
Established in 1995.
Patt Gallagher established EverLights in 1995 after an unsuccessful attempt to recycle her spent fluorescent lamps. Knowing that fluorescent lamps contained mercury, she became concerned about the amount of bulbs being dumped in landfills.
She and her daughter, Kelly Aaron, researched the issue, and together, they discovered that 22 million fluorescent lamps were landfilled in Illinois in 1995 alone. The findings led them to push for proper lamp disposal legislation, and EverLights became the driving force behind Illinois passing a lamp recycling law. In 2001, after steady growth over the years, Kelly took over the reins of the company, though Patt continues to play an active role.
EverLights continues to be a leader in addressing environmental concerns at local, state, and now national levels. We recycle not only spent fluorescent lamps but also recycle all universal waste (lamps, batteries, ballast and mercury), electronic waste and hazardous waste.
