I’ve been coming to this location since I moved to Chicago on 2013. Joy, Georgia, and Mari have been great. I have two boys and the three of us usually get our hair cut at the same time every two weeks. The haircuts have always been good as well as the service. Will recommend this place.

If you want a great cut or great color — you have to go and see Georgia! Georgia has been cutting my hair for 2 years and I have never been disappointed! She listens to you gives you exactly what you want! For years I had toyed with the idea of covering up that grey but was always too chicken to color my hair. 8 months ago, Georgia convinced me to start with partial highlights. I did and loved it! The next visit was full highlights and now I am hooked! Great cut, great color for a great price by someone I trust! Head on over and ask for Georgia!

Joy and Amanda were great! They did exactly what my sis and I wanted with our hair. I highly recommend them and plan on going to them again next time I’m home!

Really bad experience. I was not expecting a :45 wait for a walk-in. The two old ladies in there took their sweet time and then an old lady walked in after I was there and made an appointment in 15 minutes. She left and came back to fulfill her appointment. There I was sitting like a dope still waiting. Supposed told that I had to wait because these two old ladies working there had appointments. I was reassured that there was two other girls showing up at 2:00 to take me. I was next. Then a dude walked in… he had an appointment. I got tired of waiting and left at 2:30 never getting a haircut. This place really needs to work in customer service. If the wait is :45 then I need to know that. I could’ve ran some errands instead of spending the entire day watching old ladies talk about there gardens rather then getting their hair cut. I HATETHISPLACE!!! Never going back.

I just came back from my WORSTHAIRCUTEVER! I never disliked my hair cuts this much for me to feel compelled to come to Unilocal to write a review. All I asked was a simple trim on the sides and back and to shorten the top a bit. My stylist doesn’t seem to even know how to use clippers properly. Where does Hair Cuttery find these people? If you call yourself a stylist, you better be prepared to cut and style all types of hair. As she was cutting my hair, I knew right away I was screwed… No confidence at all in her craft. The sides and back were uneven. There were a lot of instances where I had to point out spots she missed. For a men’s hair cut, it took over an hour because the whole time she was trying to fix it while making it shorter and shorter than I even wanted! She cut the front to a length that was much shorter than the top of my head. LOL seriously? I am so disappointed and now I will most likely be the topic of conversation at work. I might as well let someone at home cut and mess up my hair. At least I won’t have to pay for it…

I have gone to some of the best hair salons and paid way too much for a cut or color I didn’t care for. I finally took a leap of faith and went to the Cuttery in Skokie on Skokie Blvd. Georgia was my stylist who listened to my frustrations I had with my hair. She then did her magic and I finally have the cut and color I love!!! Oh yea at ½ the price. Georgia is incredible!

The staff is nice and the waits are usually not that long. I’ve always gotten a good haircut from them. Although, they did recently raise their prices and now cost more than I think a chain haircut place should cost.

I am not a fan of this Hair Cuttery. Every so often I come home with a haircut that I like, but I’ve really had it this time. When I came, my stylist and I decided on the length that would be cut(1 ½ –2 inches). As she was cutting, I noticed that my hair was a lot shorter than we decided on, and she said that she was doing a framing technique that would make my face look nice. Um… I didn’t ask for that!!! Well, let me tell you, not only did I leave with my hair cut 4 inches instead of 1 ½−2, but my layers were chunky and unven. THEN when I got home and dried and styled my hair, I noticed that ONESIDEWAS ½ ANINCHSHORTERTHANTHEOTHER!!! My hair was such a disaster that I had to pay $ 50 in a salon to get it fixed(mind you, $ 50 that I don’t have) and buy $ 200 extensions… When I came to the salon they were shocked that someone with a license to cut hair could possibly ruin hair like that. And now, after 2YEARS of growing my hair out, I have to start all over again, and I am embarrased to be seen in public. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is that SOMETIMES I got a good hair cut. The only good ladies always end up leaving though so it’s really unfortunate. It’s also annoying that they don’t make appoitments, so it is COMPLETELY unpredictable whether you will have to wait 2 minutes or an hour. Even calling ahead to see if they are full doesn’t help because they can fill up in 2 minutes.

Worst Hair Cuttery ever. The woman with short black hair is extremely rude and careless. In fact the older women are just horrible. There was one young ladt working… but i didn’t interact with her. I took my son to get his hair cut(he is 14 months), the lady with the short black hair was mean, messed up his hair and freaked him out where he was in tears the entire time. He went to another Hair Cuttery when he was 8 months and then again to the same one at 10 months old… the women there were extremely kind, talked to my son so he was comfortable and happy. No tears. They all commented on his wonderful behavior despite being so young… they were shocked. This place? I can’t even… ugh. The Hair Cuttery by Milwaukee and Golf is far away… but i would go there rather than come here and feel insulted.

Went in to the Hair Cuttery on Skokie Blvd a few weeks ago to get a hair cut and I was very pleased with the service and the quality of work! First, I was not expecting for the salon to be so nice. I am used to going to other chain hair salons and being greeted with outdated/dingy décor. However, this was not the case at Hair Cuttery. The salon was very stylish and looked more high-end than any other chain salon. The same goes for the staff at the salon who were dressed very nicely in an all black or black/white outfit. I felt better going here! Not only did the salon look high-end but their prices were much more affordable than any high-end salon. You totally feel like you’re getting more bang for you buck. Second, the girl who cut my hair(Kayleigh) did a fantastic job! She cut it exactly the way I wanted which never happens at any other salon that I have been too. She was also very patient with me when I got nit picky about how I wanted my bangs cut. And, she was friendly and easy to talk to. Sometimes when I go to the salon, i feel forced to talk to the person doing my hair because they just keep talking, but Kayleigh was great. She was able to hold a conversation without me feeling like she was forcing it. I usually don’t have a «salon» or a «person» that I tend to consistently go to but now I do! I will definitely go back to the Skokie Blvd. Hair Cuttery. If you go, ask for Kayleigh! She was seriously the best!

Just came back from my haircut. I’m okay with it, but that’s just it. It was just OK. To be honest, it’s not that hard to just get their simple, ‘shampoo, cut, and blowdry’ deal when all I wanted was just a small trim with layers and bang cut. Don’t get me wrong, she did an alright job, but the fact that her attitude wasn’t pleasing made me want to write this review. Yes, I’m aware it’s Labor Day, but you have a job. Lots of people work on national holidays. Labor Day was«originally organized to celebrate various labor associations’ strengths of and contributions to the United States economy», according to my research. I’m making a contribution to the economy by giving you business and you are giving me a service. She pretended to be nice and care, but that was definitely not coming across her face. Not a fan of this location. The ones at Village Crossing and SO much more friendly and they actually like to make conversation. I knew I should’ve waited over there, despite they long wait. «The best curve on a woman is her smile». Use it, girl. You’re pretty.

I come here because haircuts are cheap and fast. I’m not willing to pay more than $ 30 for a cut! Yes I’m cheap! So anyways, you have to put your name down on a list or else you won’t get served. Cuts are between $ 12 – 15 and they charge an extra $ 3 if you want it shampooed and blow-dryed. The ladies who cut hair are nice but not very chatty — which is perfectly fine by me. They’ve never messed up my hair but most likely because my hair is easy to cut and I don’t ask for anything other than a trim and maybe angles. They also provide services for highlights but I’m not sure how good they do. If you want a basic cut, go here!
