Such awesome service-​called to see if we can walk in and they were so accommodating! Looks like they have a great clientele also, so many returning customers (obviously happy with the service). Will be returning :)

Just got a haircut from Jeannie (I think that’s her name), and I’ll definitely be returning. She was adept at explaining what she was doing while making suggestions without being pushy at all.

I used to go to Kevin when he was working at super cuts, and he would always take great effort to make sure he did exactly what I wanted. Having straight hair and a pixie cut does not always mean great results will be had. And now years later I went to him with really long hair and asked if he could do an asymmetrical bob and he did it with ease. It’s probably my favorite haircut ever! Thanks Kevin!

Kevin was attentive, professional, and extremely friendly. I told him about what I expected and he made sure I was okay with all his suggestions before he proceeded. He gave me an excellent haircut. Extremely happy to find someone who is competent with cutting Asian male hair. Will come back!

I should have known better when I called for a appt and was able to get in the very next day (a Saturday no less). I came in with a shoulder length bob and told Kevin I wanted a slightly angled bob. What I ended up with could only be described as a two haircuts. The back ended up with a very short layers and the front looked like two tails hanging in front of my face. I ended up going to Fawn Salon two weeks later where Gabriel fixed the mess. To boot, the salon was rather dirty.

It must have been destiny finding this salon! I had a great hair cutting experience that I haven’t had in a long time. Kevin will be cutting my hair from now on! I found my new place for hair cuts! I’m so happy I found Image Salon! Thank you Kevin! It’s a pleasure meeting you and your family!

She showed me how to style my hair, from blow-​dry techniques that build body to proper use of the products that control my particular issues (particularly fine, flyaway, flat hair). She also spent time going over my almost-​finished style and trimmed every single strand that she thought needed a little snip (I have a head full of fine, stick-​straight hair and cowlicks galore). True precision cut!
I usually don’t get lucky and find the right salon on the first try when I relocate to a new region, but I will trust my hair to Jeannie as long as I live in the Chicago area. You should give them a try!

I made an appointment for highlights and lowlights. I was able to get in the next day. Upon arrival I was greeted, offered water and was made sure I was comfortable. I was taken right at my appointment time. (How annoying is that when you rush to get to your appointment on time only to find out that the stylist is running 30 minutes or more late?) The whole process took an hour and a half and I was very pleased with the results.
Kevin and Jeannie are very personable and aim to please. Their shop is clean and bright. I would definitely recommend them and I will be back!

I work right off Dempster and needed a haircut in a bad way. I moved to Skokie in June and needed to find a new stylist. My friends wouldn’t recommend a place.
I jumped on Unilocal and found Image Salon. I called to make an appointment and got in same day. When I walked in, Jeannie asked what product I was using. She told me why I shouldn’t use that product and what products to use for different looks.
I showed her a picture of what I wanted and told her I just want something easy and quick. She washed, cut and dried my hair in about 10 minutes. She handed me a product to use and told me to play around with my hair. She told me how to use the product properly, why she cut my hair a certain way in places and how to style my hair to cover up some flat spots on my head.
I will definitely return and I would recommend this place to everyone. I was in and out in about 25 to 30 minutes.

I came here near closing time on a week night, but was still able to be taken as a walk-​in. There were several people ahead of me, but I didn’t mind the wait — they had plently of magazines for me to look through.
Kevin and Jeannie own the shop and have been at this location for about 8 years.
Jeannie gave be a great cut for a great price. She gave plently of tips and advice for my type of hair: thin and wavy for my round face. I appreciate it. She didn’t try to sell me her own products, but gave advice of which types of products would be good for my hair. Most of the products she recommended for me weren’t sold at the shop.
They both do a great job.

Got my haircut with the owner. She is very skilled and listens to your needs. She did a great job on my hair. I keep my hair very long so it’s hard to tell when I get a haircut. But with her I was able to get a lot of style in my hair without making them short. Not many stylist are able to do that for me. They usually can’t help the temptation of chopping my hair off. Also, she shampoos the hair very well. I know, it’s weird to look for nice shampoo but I do anyway. Usually, I also have a problem with how most stylist shampoo my hair because I would have to go home and shampoo them my self. My stylist at image salon understood that very well.
There are two reasons I didn’t leave five stars. One, she could have done a little better on my blow dry but it’s possible I went in too late and she probably was ready to home, but she was nice enough to pick her straightener and fix the parts that looked frizzy after blow drying. Second, she was bit too expressive about how she doesn’t like a certain type of customers and how she doesn’t like offering deals to customers.

I had made an appointment with Jeannie to add more layers to my hair. And while she did do that, she managed to give me some really bizarre looking ends (very straight-​across) as opposed to a more natural look. I’m still growing out my hair, hoping to get a better cut elsewhere next time. It’s a cheap haircut (all razor-​cut) and Jeannie is very social, but I just didn’t walk out with a haircut that I loved.

Great customer service. I’ve had a great cut and highlights from Jeannie and for a fraction of the cost of the city. She’s very thorough and does a great job.

Finally came back for a trim. My hair is thick and when it grows long I start to get headaches. Jeannie was able to see me the day I called.
Told Jeannie to do whatever she felt like as long as she kept it long and thinned out the heavy hair.
She hadn’t seen me in a while but quickly cut my hair into a low maintenance, lightweight style that matched my needs. Didn’t have to request it to be low maintenance, either.
She’s amazing!

I needed a reshaping and cut desperately. New to the area, not sure where to go, I trusted Unilocal and found a GREAT place! Jennie was very helpful to cut my hair to fit the shape of my face. This is the first hair cut in many years that really looks good on me! Everyone was so nice and friendly, but almost of all the prices where very reasonable! I found my new salon!

Well, I don’t like the cut I got here. It’s not totally the stylists fault, so I want to explain. I walked in with grown out hair that I knew needed a trim. It was shoulder length and I asked for a bob haircut. She took a strand of hair at the front of my head and showed me she would be cutting 3 inches off, which was fine by me. The part she didn’t communicate was that it would be the LONGEST part of my hair and not the shortest, so in the back, she cut more like 5″-6″ of hair off. That is not what I wanted, but I didn’t know how short it was until the cut was over. She is fast, and determined. She was even comfortable enough to not look at my hair while she took a razor to it, and talk to some regulars who were waiting for a cut. I didn’t wig out (pun intended), since it’s just hair and it’ll grow back, but I can see how someone else might be very upset about it. This will take a few weeks to grow out and even be able to resemble a bob haircut that I originally wanted. Oh well. I don’t frequent many salons in Skokie, but I do assume $ 38 for a cut is very good for the area. She gave some attitude about not paying cash, but was otherwise pleasant and welcoming. I just wish I got what I asked for.

For a cheap, basic haircut, this place does the job. I paid only $ 25 with tip for a woman’s haircut! And as a girl with puffy and thick Asian hair, I’m really wary about going to the generic hair salons in fear of them giving me an even bigger fro. However, Jeannie did a pretty decent job of cutting my hair short without it looking too puffy. I also dread making awkward small talk with hairstylist but Jeannie made me feel comfortable.
Both Kevin and Jeannie seem to be pretty sweet. I watched Kevin cut a little boy’s hair (it looked like it was his first time, as he looked petrified). But Kevin made it quick and painless and I liked that he checked in with the kid frequently to see if he was doing okay. No tears from the kid, so I’m giving props to Kevin.
Overall, they deliver fantastic customer service and offer great prices. The quality of the haircut is not bad given the price. I’ll be returning for my next haircut.

I had been jumping around from place to place since I moved from DC. As an Asian American, there are only a couple individuals in Chicago that I could think of who could give better than a half-​way decent fade. The only problem is, if I know that the person is good at giving a good fade, so does every other Asian man who is looking for the same thing. FML.
So, when a buddy of mine put me on to a guy who runs his shop in Skokie and does a great job with Asian hair, I felt it necessary to make the trip out from my apartment downtown to give him a try.
In short, he didn’t disappoint. He and his wife have done a fantastic job with keeping their heads down and putting out quality haircuts for all of their patrons. They are always extremely friendly and try their best to schedule anyone that wants a haircut, but didn’t make an appointment.
As for my hair, I wouldn’t trust anyone else in Chicago with it at this point. Kevin and Jeannie are simply fantastic.

Everyone I know and their mom and dad (literally) go there. Why? Because Kevin and Jeannie cut hair like Tom Skilling does the weather. You know it’s awesome. You know there are other options, but you won’t settle for anything less because you’ve experienced AWESOME.
Kevin is hilarious. Kevin looks you in the eyes. Kevin knows how to cut hair.
Jeannie is super nice. Jeannie offers you water — WHILE she’s cutting someone else’s hair. Jeannie knows how to cut hair.
If you’re in Skokie, there’s no better option. Trust me. No better option.
