I’ve used Olympia twice now, and both times they were best in class. What impresses me most is that they are fair, honest and great movers. Their quote was accurate, they arrived on time, they took great care with all of my furniture, and everything was perfect both times. You don’t often see that kind of customer service, and when you do, consistently, it is really appreciated. I was impressed the first time I used them, and then very happy to find that their level of service and care is consistent every time. If you are moving and need to find a good, honest and high quality moving company, I would highly recommend Olympia. I will definitely be using them again, and referring them to others. They are the best I have seen.

I paid and tipped Olympia Movers generously and received a violation in return. My items were in their possession from Chicago to California and during that time they were left out in a storm. This piece of furniture has been in my family since the 1930’s. It has never been refurbished, sanded, painted or stained. It has been passed down from my great grandmother to my grandmother to my mother and to me. The surface of its wood it the surface of which all the generations of my family have touched. I realize that there is always risk involved when trusting your belongings to someone outside of yourself but not in my wildest imagination would I have thought that it would be shear neglectful carelessness. Not only was my dresser water logged, moldy, warped and ripped of its finish due to wet blankets being left to adhere to it for weeks but also an undetermined amount of boxes, bins, clothing and assorted electronics were saturated as well. I am sad for all of the paychecks that will be cashed on promises that are not delivered. I am sad that a man with a toothy grin came into my home with his charm and took my hard earned money who claims it must have happened on someone else’s watch. I am sad that he told us that the company would surely pay to have it restored. I am sad that a surly woman gave us a link to a website and told us to be prepared for a long and disappointing outcome. I am all together sad. Sad, disappointed and devastated. Final outcome from Olympia. $ 98.00. These people are crooks.

I recently used Olympia to help my in-​laws move locally. The crew did an outstanding job and even beat the quoted estimate, resulting in a lower bill. I referred them to my brother recently, who was moving to a new place and he was very pleased with their professionalism as well… no disappointments :)
I have a big office move coming up in a few months and will be sure to use them again. My only regret: not having them pack my boxes! :/​I spent way too much time packing boxes. Great job Olympia!

The team we got from this moving company was (M-​184) Miguel. The move was done professionally and the team was polite and made sure all the boxes and furniture went to its place. Thank you for making our lives easier. Even with the snow issues they made sure no water marks were made inside the house and they kept the house clean. We all are very please about it. After reading all the reviews I realized that the others who had bad experience is because of different teams that came for the service.

I can’t say enough good things about Olympia Moving and Storage and the team that handled my move. They were professional and courteous and a pleasure to have around. I have a lot of real, solid wood furniture, so many pieces were heavy and required disassembly and re-​assembly. They even accommodated a special request. Best of all, nothing was damaged or scratched. And they were significantly less expensive than a local franchise that I used previously. I highly recommend them.

TOOK 42 DAYS TO RECEIVE STUFF! If zero stars would possible, they would get it. Most important part of this rating is due to their terrible customer service. No one ever seems to answer their phone. I get someone to pick up approximately every two days. They promise updates after updates, but they never seem to come.
Other reasons why I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY:
Background: moving cross country from mid-​west to west coast.
1. Quote was not accurate, sales person said would call for a more accurate update, but never did
2. Did not receive the adequate 24 hour notice of pick up (called after 5:30PM notifying they would arrive next day between 11 – 1 only to arrive at 3PM)
3. Pick up crew was extremely unprofessional — talking about how they were up all night, had no sleep and were hungover
4. was never notified the 1 – 21 business days would start once I provided address
5. IT TOOK 42 DAYS TO OBTAIN MY STUFF — this was over one week past the 21 business days
I can’t express to you enough how unhelpful this company has been. They did wave my outstanding balance of approx. $ 450 and I can claim more money back. Don’t use this Company unless you want to wait a month and a half to get your stuff and be left in the dark for the majority of that time.

I never hired movers before so I was a tad nervous about it when I moved May 1st. While I cannot speak for the whole company, I can say that the crew that I had was awesome. The lead guy’s name was Miguel, crew M-​184 (I saved my receipt so I could get around to Unilocaling them). They treated my things well, they were manageable with time, honest about what they were doing and their methods and worked hard to fit my huge sectional in my new downsized apartment. At the end of the day I was extremely pleased with the work they did, and would easily hire them again for my next move.

Sure the movers were polite and went fast. Despite their willingness to take care of us, these guys did a crummy job moving out stuff. After paying them a good tip and waving them good bye, we started to in pack our stuff and noticed that one of our bookshelves was smashed and lots of our wooden frames scratched up.
I deeply regret using their service and would caution you to look elsewhere.

I chose this company, for the reviews had been good. The men that showed up in Chicago were friendly and did a professional job. Then, it went downhill from there.
I was always told 10 days not 10 business days. When it came close to the 10 days, I contacted Levi and at that time was told 10 business days. Then, he updated my Mass. telephone numbers which surprised me, for I had already given them to him. When the 10 business days came and went, I emailed him-​no response. I had to call the number given and then was advised I would get my furniture between Wed-​Friday. I was always told I would get 24 hours notice which I did not get. A foreigner calls me states either Thursday evening or Friday. No furniture on Thursday. He calls me on Friday and states he would be there in a couple of hours turns out to be almost 4 hours.
When he comes, he comes with his wife and small child. The minute he came; he was rude. Refused to take doors off, for he would be fired. Had to get a neighbor to do this. Then, after an hour, DEMANDED $ 75 or the move wouldn’t be done. I was pissed-​did give it. Called the company, and he was ordered to give it back. Would not allow me to inspect furniture to see where it would go. He was extremely careless. Then, I realized that a dresser should be upstairs, and he refused to put it in the bedroom. Then, the shouting match began. He called dispatch, and he was ordered to do this. Continued to be nasty, and did not put items where I asked. He put one television on a stack of boxes, did not remove all protective covering, ruined one tv stand, chipped furniture, boxes were broken, and left debris in driveway. Asked him to remove his debris and wouldn’t.
My neighbor who had helped me with the doors had noticed his rude behavior.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY: ONCE YOU COMMIT TO THEM-​THE NICENESS STOPS, AND FINALLY, BEWARE OF UKRANIAN MOVERS WHO BRING THEIR WIFE AND YOUNG CHILD TO DELIVER FURNITURE.

Worst Movers ever do not use complete scam. Broke so much. They have no respect for property and will sell off your furniture. My great grandmother is in tears, they are the worst and they do not care whether your stuff makes It in one piece or not! Also they delivered at 9:00 PM.

We did a 4 bedroom house move from Westmont to Naperville which included a tredmill, elliptical machine, 2 large octagon-​shaped picnic tables, large gas grill, 5 sofas, 2 big screen TVs and a ton of stuff that I should have already packed. They used 2 trucks.
The team came in and worked VERY quickly. Only 2 items were broken out of the thousands moved, and they were cheap items anyways.
Our move was done 1.5 hr quicker than expected, a bit under budget and we were so happy with them my husband gave them a $ 300 tip.
I appreciated the contact process, the online inventory form (used for the estimate), and confirmation 2 days before the move. Not a single complaint.

Update:
Had to file a police report for the theft of my missing items. Will have to contact additional authorities regarding potential identity fraud. Of course, the company’s concern has been lackadaisical at best. No response from them, no compensation.
I can’t urge any potential client strongly enough to do your due-​diligence concerning the use of this company. I wake almost every night with the fear of how much damage can be done with my stolen contents… and what does the company say? «You shouldn’t have packed them!» What do I say? «I shouldn’t have used you!»

This company was very good for us. We had two pickup locations in Chicago and the destination was in western Michigan. Everything was well organized, good communication, and the work staff was very friendly and professional. The furniture was well wrapped and arrived on time (the day before Thanksgiving on top of it). No complaints from us. Thanks.

I’m moving again and was just reminded of how horrible this company is. To Mike M., I have to say — the actual mover guys can be quite nice, but this company is a total scam. Please stop recommending them to clients, for their sake.

They change the company name every so often to avoid having too many negative reviews build up. If you look at their TWO HUNDRED PLUS filtered reviews (most of which are 5-​star), it’s obvious they beg and/​or pay people to write fake reviews. I read through some of them and many lacked specifics…
Even if someone did have a positive experience with this company, you should be freaked out that they don’t have an off-​hours/​emergency number for when they FAIL TO SHOW UP. Reason enough to avoid them right there.
Seriously, avoid this company — they made my move a living nightmare.

For the first time in my Unilocal history I feel the need to start with this…
If I could rate this place 0 stars, I absolutely would.
I recently moved from Milwaukee, WI to Seattle, WA. As if this wasn’t stressful enough for a 24 year old, Olympia decided to make it even worse. The original quote was reasonable. However, every time we spoke, it gradually increased (first warning sign). Eventually I was right up at the same price as every other moving company.
Regardless, I signed with Olympia, because they had the availability I needed (second warning sign). The movers picked my shipment up a day late and attempted to charge an extra $ 125 for my bicycle (third warning sign).
I received an email stating my shipment would arrive in Washington the following week. Yes, I had written proof. However, my shipment conveniently showed up on a Sunday night 29 days later with one man that was supposed to move my 300 pound couches– amongst many other things (fourth warning sign). A friend and I ended up doing all of the lifting and moving since the driver was also wearing sandals.
Olympia refused to communicate with me throughout the entire process. The arrival date of my shipment continued to change on a daily, sometimes hourly basis.
Please do your research before signing with them.
