Perfectly Polished

This is my regular nail place. I get acrylic fills with no-​chip polish. It’s best to call ahead because they do get busy after work. They are usually pretty fast, they do quality work, and it is a clean, pleasant environment. Vu is the best but nearly everyone I have had has been good. Prices are good and good parking.

Ask for phuong of Vu!!! It’s been many many years since I’ve been coming to perfectly polished. I don’t and won’t trust anyone else.

Before I start this review, I just want to say that I did not use coupons/​groupons/​living social ads, and there is no explanation for the lack of manners that the older staff members have. This place has fallen off hard. I walked in on a somewhat busy, but open chairs kind of day, with a friend. I was told one person could get started, so my friend and I picked colors and were sat at the pedi-​stations. The woman who did my feet was much older and thinner, I’m not sure if her name as they don’t post their licenses like most places do (sketchy). I guess the woman had an allergy to the foot soak, which I was never told of before she started, fine, no foot soak for me. Then, My massage chair was making a squeak sound and she pointed it out so I tuned it off with no complaint, I’m not really one for massages, which I stated. I told the lady I’m more for a scrub down than a rub down, which she didn’t do either, my feet were still rough at the end of the pedi. Next, my foot massage was coming close to an end, when I look at the time and it has only been 12 minutes. What the heck!!! So I mentioned that the other girl, who was already there & soaking when I walked in is no where near the end of her pedi… I was told that my feet were easy… BS. I haven’t had a pedicure since sept… So here I am, drying my crooked, crusty toenails under a light, I cannot wait to dry and leave. Horrible experience. 1 star only because of their vast color collection, however it doesn’t incline me enough to ever step foot back here, plus you can’t leave 0 stars.

This place is a hidden gem in Skokie. Been coming here for months now. Love their service. Overall, this is the spot. Thanks to crew!

I tried this place for the first time last week, before heading out to a beach resort. The salon itself is comfortable and clean, with a loud, action film playing on the television. I did not mind it, but the profanity could be off-​putting to some. The pedicure was good, and I did not have to wait long, despite not having an appointment. The man who did my pedicure was young, but seemed to know what he was doing. I would have given the place a higher rating, if it wasn’t for the fact that my nail polish bubbled and subsequently smudged/​got wiped off one little toe despite letting it dry for close to 30 minutes. Seems like a waste to pay $ 30 only to have your nails ruined a few minutes after leaving. I will give them another shot though because the rest of the pedicure was so good.

Service very good. Action movie playing with sound on — crashes, screams, explosions, loud music. Impossible to relax. Staff members watching movie. Place busy, people must like it. Way too noisy for me.

Tina did a really good job on my no chip she only took about 45 minutes and it was a job well done. Super pleased with her service.

This was very easily the worst manicure I have gotten. To begin with, my manicurist was texting throughout the entire time she was filing my nails and cutting my cuticles. She was very rough and did not do even a decent job filing or cutting. When she started polishing, the base coat was very thick so she just globbed it on. Then, the remaining coats were uneven and I can see the lines where she didn’t paint to the edges of the nails. Finally, she used a paintbrush to clean off all the polish that she had gotten on my skin. This would have been fine had she not smudged the polish on my nails in the process. Additionally, the bottles of nail polish all looked half empty or very diluted — not the quality I am looking for.

I have been going to this place for the last 9 years I remember there were 2 old sisters that had it and did such a terrible job.
The new owner which is the current owner for the last 8 years or so he is doing such a great job. He actually grabbed the bull by the horns. Works really hard and always on a great mood he doesn’t make u feel uncomfortable by talking in another language and takes care of you like a princess. …let’s be honest we like that!
He is super busy because he takes care of his customers and the crew is awesome they all work really hard and do a great job this is my place to go to

I went here from a referral from a friend who sees Vu. He is so meticulous and detailed. He is awesome and i am a new loyal customer. It is convenient to my home and work, prices are competitive but most importantly the quality is on par with its neighbors. I have never seen so many choices for colors!

Took a chance coming here for a manicure & pedicure since I read great reviews here. Making an appointment the day of when I wanted it was easy and liked they were open until 8. I figured with a 630pm appointment, they wouldn’t rush it through. I was wrong — my pedicure was decent but my manicure was another story — I honestly could’ve painted my nails better myself. She kept insisting on a no chip manicure and I replied that I just came for a regular manicure. I noticed she was painting them quickly and wasn’t sure if it’s because she was in a rush or because she was able to paint them efficiently but still have a flawless application. She was in a rush, I had to point out sides that she missed on numerous nails and had her redo two of my fingers because she kept layering coats on quickly without letting the previous dry! After hearing that I had weddings to attend this weekend she replied «see you should get no chip!». I mean with the paint job I received I might as well. An hour after having it dry, I’ve noticed so many flaws in the paint job and really disappointed in it especially with all the great reviews posted here.

Love this place! I HIGHLY recommend you make an appointment or you may get turned away– they just get a lot of appointments and fill up quick.

I have been coming here since I was sixteen and they do such an amazing job. I have been in doing my mani and pedi with lisa. She is so wonderful. She is super nice and she does such a clean and organized job. I always have her do my nails and feet just because she the best of all. They are also clean and sterile with everything they use which is a big deal to everyone. Overall, it’s a great plus great prices too. And always make an appointment because they get super busy.

I just like the location and people are all right too. Slight negative: tips preferred in cash.

My first visit was today, Sunday. I choose them based on reviews. I had a gel set with no chip done by Phoung. Very nice, quiet but that’s ok, it was very relaxing. She did my nails exactly how I asked. Love them, definitely will return!

Gwyn is the best. This is the best nail shop I have ever been to. The quality is outstanding.

i have my regular «go to» place for my gel fill ins however it was a sunday and they were closed i called around and found this place, perfectly polished.
it an odd shaped with one lane of parking strip mall on dumpster (more parking just steps away in a lot) i finally found it
when i walked in they had me sit down with phoung. wow, she was detailed and took great care. i was impressed. then dooey had her use no chip polish so i could check it out and that was a nice surprise.
i am loyal to my «go to» place however phoang and dooey at perfectly polished are my next choices and i would recommend to anyone

I started coming here about one year ago since it is near my work. At first, I thought they delivered a great mani, but as I continued to go there, the manicures and experience overall went down. Main reasons I will not come here again:
1. One of the men has inappropriate conversations. He has talked to me about gay men and sex. I am quite pro homosexuality and was quite offended by this. Regardless of my views, this should not be discussed! Not to mention the talk about sex. At this point I should have stopped going here, but at time, I just couldn’t make it to my regular spot.
2. They put thinner in their polishes. You can just tell by shaking them, but if that wasn’t enough, they did it right in front of me too. You cannot do that in front of a customer! Sign of a place not using high end products/don’t replace them when it’s time.
3. Lastly, I was in the middle of getting a mani when a lady walked in and asked for the lady doing my nails to do her pedi (she didn’t even have an apt). She left me sitting there for 5 min at which point, I walked out and will never go back. Didn’t even get a top coat on!
Go to 675 Nails instead, right down the block. This is now my new go-​to while at work.

As a random (hey, let’s find a nail salon in Skokie) with my girlfriend, I researched a bit on Unilocal and decided to pick one out of the 2 nail salons along Dempster that we passed up first and had mediocre reviews.
Why it receives mediocre reviews, I HAVE NO CLUE! This place is amazing! A small shop along a strip mall, but I understand why they have such dedicated locals coming to get their nails done. The service is great.
My friend and I surprisingly both got no-​chip manicures and pedicures all done by men. Granted, there were women there but they were all taken by other customers. They guys however, were very friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing. They made a 2 hour nail job, a fun gossip-​talk. And it kept me and my friend completely forgetting that we were hungry for dinner because we were having so much fun!
Did I mention that they took their dedicated time to make sure we got a complete service done and weren’t rushed to finish at all and they were still working on our nails even after an hour after the salon closed? That’s dedication right there, and we felt like VIP.
Their selection of nail polishes are great and their no-​chip even better. I’ve recently become a fan of no chip but discovered that this salon does this 2 tone no chip that changes color under hot or cold conditions. It’s fun! Although I didn’t get that done, my friend did and she kept playing with ice water after we left the salon. This was my first trip there and it was such a good experience, I am definitely willing to drive from my Uptown neighborhood to get my nails done here!
