I had the extremely unfortunate experience of working with cheri who couldn’t stop laughing at me upon my entrance to the store. I came in asking for a custom sectional 10k budget, and within 4 minutes told me I’d probably have better luck elsewhere and walked me out laughing like an immature little school girl the whole way. I guess when your staff is a group of disrespectful and unknowledgable buffoons walking out in 4 minutes was a good saving of my time.

Very nice pieces, a little pricy, but the quality is there. I bought a new bed and very neat vintage looking side tables, love them!

Toms Price has beautiful furniture and the sales associates are very helpful.

If you have decided to buy a good rug for your home you absolutely must go to Toms-​Price and see their rug manager, Barbara. After telling Barbara that I was just beginning my search and knew nothing about rugs, she took the time to educate me about the craftsmanship, the styles, the materials, and prices as I looked through the store’s large and well displayed inventory. I went to several specialty rug stores but came back to Toms-​Price because of Barbara’s knowledge and expertise. I was able to take rugs home to see how they worked in my house and eventually decided on two. Barbara made sure that I received all of the correct discounts. She was thorough and meticulous with every detail. When I had to deal with some tricky ordering and delivery issues that were not in Barbara’s nor the store’s control, she handled everything efficiently and professionally. I highly recommend that you stop and see Barbara at Toms-​Price for the purchase of a rug.

Laura LaPorte helped us select a dining room set that just arrived and looks absolutely gorgeous! She is truly an expert — focused on making sure we were happy and comfortable with our purchase. We had visited four other stores before Toms-​Price, and they all had nice dining room tables. But I went with Toms-​Price because of Laura’s low-​key sales approach. She was helpful, but not pushy. She never urged me to buy anything but served as a helpful resource. She visited our home, made a floor plan and had great recommendations for our space. When we didn’t like the china cabinet that was offered by the company that made the dining table we selected, she researched and recommended one made by another company. She then went out of her way to ensure that china cabinet matched the table we ordered. She was conscientious, knowledgeable and resourceful.
In summary: Go to Toms-​Price in Skokie and ask for Laura LaPorte. You will be very happy!

I’m sure this store is great if you have really traditional tastes and lots of money. But I couldn’t find anything that caught my eye.

A few years ago I purchased a few pieces at Toms-​Price at the start of a very large remodeling job. The pieces were all on sale, good prices, very nice design and quality, the sales person was very nice.
The bigger story is their incredible service and unique, stellar craftsmanship of their furniture repair staff, particularly Jeff Claver. When our large mirror arrived it had a tag taped to the painted frame that marred the surface. Toms-​Price quickly responded that they could fix the frame and sent Jeff on a Saturday afternoon when it was convenient for us. The repair was complex and very specific becasue it had both silver leaf and bronze leaf that had to be replaced. Not only did Jeff do an outstanding job, he found smaller knicks and patched those up.
A year later we needed them back when we had drilled holes into two cabinets to place a shelf between the two. It did not look right. Though they had not damaged the furniture they agreed to come out and, for a very reasonable fee, repair the holes and fill in the woodgrain finish. I anticipated the work would be completed to the best of the ability given the extent of damage. When Jeff finished the work I could not believe my eyes. Absolutely no indication that there was ever any drilling done to this wood. And there were 8 holes on each cabinet. I am still amazed and have had a few days to view it under different light. The repair work is seamless. I commented to my husband that it must be wonderful to go through life with that amount of refined skill. Jeff can be compared to both a skilled surgeon and a fine artist. I’m wowed.
Toms-​Price certainly lives up, and exceeds, the standards of a fine furnishings retailer. I highly recommend them.

I used to work for this company so I have an insiders perspective. Working for this family owned business was one of the best employment experiences I have ever had. After I moved careers I became a customer. Every time I have purchased furniture I have had the best experience from the support in selecting my purchase, to the follow up giving me heads up that my order production status to the wonderful delivery personnel. One of the hidden benefits of purchasing furniture at Toms-​Price is that their sales people are also highly trained designers who can save you money by helping you avoid classic furniture mistakes that in the end cost more than buying right the first time.

They’re not very helpful. I came here looking for children’s bedroom furniture and the associate did not want to help me at all. She pretty much said just look through some catalogs. I think it was because I told her I bought some Brownstreet Amish furniture at their outlet and she said they don’t sell that line at the store and that the outlet store merchandise is not as good. Maybe I just got a bad associate but I’m not going to go back to try and find out.

My wife and I recently bought a rug at Toms Price. Barbara, in the rug department, is an absolute gem. She made the difficult and daunting process of buying a rug as easy and painless as possible. Barbara was extremely patient and helpful in showing us rugs in our price range and explaining the the differences between the rugs and the pros/​cons of each one. She is attentive without ever being invasive. She also allowed us to take several rugs home until we found the right one. I could not have been happier with the service that Barbara provided.
Also, a big thumbs up to Pete, the rug buyer. We got a chance to meet him as well and he couldn’t have been a nicer guy. Not to mention that he has stocked the Old Orchard Toms Price to the gills with an outstanding selection of rugs. It’s a great place to buy quality rugs without spending an absolute fortune. Kudos to Toms Price Old Orchard. I highly recommend it.

Well a GEM Even for the YOUNG URBAN Pioneer! … Well after getting Furniture from Marshall Fields and having to return it. get a refund and Attempting to Order Custom Furniture but having the Sales Person (From Marshall fields/​now macys on State street) Try to get over. I took my Few $ 1000,k’s to Tom Price and Fabric Number Straight to Toms Price and to my Surprise! they had the Same Thomas O’Brien Custom Sofa. and the 2 Custom Chairs that I wanted. Was able to Save an Add’l $ 600 bucks because I paid Cash! and my Custom Order was delivered 1 month sooner than what was quoted from Marshall Fields. When the Goose Stuffing from the Chairs came out. Toms-​Price Sent 2 men to bring more stuffing to my home in Chicago. and had their MASTER upholsterer fix my sofa right in my home. It took these two men two hours however this is how Fabulous they are! I would go here before I’d Go to any Furniture store! Love this place!
