I was first referred to Illinois Retina Associates after my Opthalmologist found a retinal hole. She advised me to call them first thing in the morning the next day. Taking her advice I called at 8:30am as soon as they opened and was told me to come in right away. I was impressesd with the immediate attention that I received being as though it was so last minute. I arrived a half hour later and was seen right away. It’s a long process usually takes about 2 hours but I was advised before hand and I much rather wait and be tended to than rushed out. End result was two retinal holes which resulted in a retina detachment and I had to undergo Scleral Bukle surgery. I am about 2 months post surgery and my eye looks and feels great. I was not expecting to recover so quickly from such an intense surgery at all, and with no complications! I have to be honest, I don’t typically like doctors but Dr. Ravage and his staff are always extrememly tentative, compassionate, and friendly. Bonus the patients are a delight to talk to as well :) Also, parking is a breeze and there are several different locations throughout Chicago & the burbs. I’m not sure how typical it is to need to see a retina specialist but it you do Dr. Zac Ravage and his staff at the Skokie location are definitaly it. Side note: I’ve also been to the Rush location in Chicago and the staff rocks there as well. Thank you for taking such good care of me, I could not be anymore relieved! :)
