Established in 2000.

Kidney and Hypertension Associates is a physician group that specializes in the treatment of patients with kidney diseases, hypertension, diabetes and stone disease. Kidney and Hypertension Associates was formed by Dr. David Powers who started a part-time nephrology practice on the Northshore in 1998 in conjunction with LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans where he was a professor. Dr. Powers left LSU in the year 2000 to pursue a full-time private practice.
