The Dairy King has stood here for more than 50 years, as I understand it. For a small part of my childhood, it dished out soft serve on hot summer days. Then somewhere around the time I hit double digits, it was abandoned, along with my hopes for summer ice creams while visiting my grandmother.
But the Dairy King is back in operation now, seasonally, at least.
This was a thrilling and serendipitous discovery to make on a road trip to visit one’s childhood haunts… I didn’t have a chance to eat anything savory there, but I had a creamy twist cone that hit the spot. Oh yeah!
