Getting my pedicure before I leave for another job assignment. Love coming here! Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I tried a half dozen nail salons when I moved to Atlanta, 2 years ago but stopped looking when I found Cocanails. I am always pleased with my manicure, pedicure or gel manicure, and the ladies are always friendly and professional. I also like the beautiful décor, its relaxing and peaceful, and I feel like my business is appreciated each and every time. I highly recommend Cocanails.

This place is right across the street from me, so I decided to give it a shot. It is an appointment-​only establishment, which has its pros and cons. Overall, my experience was pleasant, but I wasn’t quite as wowed as I expected to be. Like some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the pedicure bowls are unlined. I was very surprised (and disappointed) to see that. The bench style seating for pedicures is not the most comfortable either. I, too, experienced the owner hovering over the technician who was working on me, which was a bit uncomfortable. The woman working on me, however, was very sweet and kept me laughing the whole time. I came in for a basic pedicure, which ended up taking a little over an hour. I can appreciate that this business aims to be a place of luxury and relaxation, but it’d still be nice to get in and out a little more quickly.

As soon as I walked in I was asked if I had an appointment, I said ‘no’ and was informed they only book appointments but they may be able to get me in. No one else was in the salon. I sat on the couch for a while before I was motioned to a chair. I was there to have my acrylics filled in. The lady doing my nails never initiated conversation and only spoke to apologize that her file wasn’t working. She never asked if I wanted them trimmed down or what shape I wanted and seemed to get annoyed when I mentioned it, apparently she was a step ahead of that and had to redo steps to get them the way I wanted them. She never smiled at me till it was time to pay and leave a tip.
In less than a week the acrylic started chipping at the tips and you can see through the gel polish on my nails. I never felt welcome and it’s too pricy to leave feeling like you were a nuisance.

I walk out as soon as I walked in. Some woman looked me up and down when I asked about a service. I wouldn’t receive their services even if I were lying in a funeral home basement. Black business are hard to support when the vibe is crap and the prices are high as camel toe. Run! Don’t support this rude bitch!

Worst experience of my life. I would stay clear of this place because you are going to walk away disappointed and nails that are not going to last long.

The Service was Great can’t wait to go back in 2 weeks… Atmosphere was right on point. Very professional group of Ladies.

I had a great experience at Cocanails Upscale Salon. They were clean, professional and had excellent customer service. I was a walk in but its best to make an appointment. I got the Simply Put pedicure and gel polish manicure and was very pleased with both. My nails look great! It did take longer then I’m used to but I appreciate that. i was actually able to relax because they weren’t trying to rush me out the door. The massage (which is my favorite part of getting a pedicure) was heavenly. I was offered some wine! Yes Please! They take the time to make sure your nails look good and pay attention to detail. Oh yeah and they are American owned. So many reasons why i will be returning. I really felt pampered and I’m glad i decided to give this place a try.

I absolutely love this nail salon, I’m very picky about everything, and when I come here i have no worries. If you want absolute perfection when it comes to your nails, this is the place for you.

I absolutely love this place! What a joy to be serviced in such a beautiful salon. The service is impeccable and the owner is so accommodating and professional. It’s very refreshing to spend my time in an American owned salon — I’m glad I found this place. The nail techs are creative and very attentive to details. I went there not having read any reviews. From the outside it looked nice but the inside isn’t nice at all… not sure why people are saying it is. I didn’t have an appointment but they took me anyways, which was nice. I just got a manicure and it was minimal. I mean that I washed my hands, she pushed back my cuticles and trimmed them and got started painting… then when she was done that was it.
My nails look pretty good although the sides were not fully painted. Even though my nails look good I am not sure I would go back because getting your nails done should be a luxurious time to relax and get pampered. I often find that if things say, luxury or upscale they are really not. The overall look of the place was dirty and I wouldn’t want to get my toes done here because it looked uncomfortable and not that clean. Both women that were there were very nice and I appreciated that very much.

I would not be returning to this salon and would not recommend this salon to anyone, actually I would say avoid it at all cost!
I was looking for an «american owned» salon hence entered this place which looks very upscale and nice from outside– big mistake. Did not realise I would end up wasting my entire evening, getting cursed and dealing with cops!
When I entered the owner was sitting on the desk, the salon was EMPTY! the owner stated rather haughtily that we work only with appointments but we will do it! First off the pedicure basin was unlined, the tech filed my nails rather vigorously almost to the skin. No massage with the pedicure or manicure was done. During the manicure the tech was overzealous with my cuticles and went rather deep and i now have at least two fingers that are hurting. She filed my nails very vigorously and there were rough jagged edges and awkward shapes. My nails looked worse after than they did before the manicure! I was asked if I had ever tried a gel manicure and I said no and enquired about it. I was told that it is thicker than regular naipaint and that it dries much faster. I asked how could I take it off at home as I do not like cumbersome stuff. I was told by the tech that I could just use acetone and it would easily come off. I agreed to try it on her recommendation. When she did apply the first coat of nailpaint it was awful! The tips of the nails had no paint on them, it was uneven and the paint was lumpy! All in all the awkward nail shapes, ragged edges and now the uneven lumpy nailpaint made my hands look plain awful. I requested that she remove the gelpaint and that I would just want to leave at this point. The tech started to file off the gelpaint from my nails! She filed and she filed and my nails were now almost crying out loud! I complained to the tech that she should stop filing my nails as they were looking horrible and that the manicure was not nice at all and that she should have told me that the paint would have to be filed off the nails! The owner came and asked what the problem was so I told her what was going on and I told her that the manicure was one of the worst I had ever had. The owner stated that they do very good manicures and started to almost reprimand me for complaining. She saw that I had offered amex to her tech and very haughtily said we dont take amex. By this time I was very upset and told her that ideally she should not even be paid for the manicure, there was no massage and no nail paint. I was leaving with hands that were looking terrible. The owner stated that «you must be trying to get a free service or something out of us, because we do a great job»!! to which I got up, put her 50 $ cash on the table told her that their services were terrible and started to leave. The owner actually started shouting and cursing me «in the name of jesus I curse you, may his wrath be upon you etc. etc.» AND SHE CALLED THE COPS!!! Of course when the cops came, I explained what happened and was told I was free to go.
Another reviewer above has explained how the owner called cops! THIS SALON CALLS COPS IF YOU DON“T LIKE THEIR SERVICES! HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE HERE. The owner has a very poor attitude for a business owner and the empty salon speaks for it.

I am so happy to have found my new salon home! I recently relocated to GA and was having trouble finding a good (American Owned) salon. As soon as I made my appointment I could tell it would be a great fit. Staff was friendly toward everyone and the ambiance is very upscale. The technician took her time on my pedicure while holding amazing conversation with me, and my shellac manicure was flawless. What I appreciated the most was how they listened to my wants and needs and followed them to a T. I will absolutely be returning!

If i could do –5 i would. Since i was told by the owner of @cocanails that «my ONE bad review would not change anything for her salon» I figured I would add others reviews as well. This salon, ladies and gent, is the reason why black owned nail salons in atlanta struggle. While is it beautilly decorated and in a great location, The services are over priced and poorly executed. I was told to not even deal with the owner as she is rude and abrasive, however, given that it was their «3 year anniversary «I was unfortunately stuck with her. As i sat with my feet in the unprotected bowl i watched as the owner did everything BUT my pedicure. She unprofessional told a client her quiet, well behaved, child was not welcomed, answered phones, ran water for walk-​in guest and talked to other clients, all while wearing the gloves she started my feet in. The few moments she was doing my feet, i learned that she fired a former employee for «stealing from her» and that some nail techs were less experienced at polishing than other. And that was just my pedicure folks. I wont go into details of my excuse for a nail application done by a tech who spent more time on her phone than she did re using the over used nail file on my nails. And dont try to call and have the issue resolved by this «Christian» salon, you will get blown off just to get a call back 9 hours later to listen to somone yelling at you, telling you your wrong and to top it off being hung up on. All in all @cocanails is an over priced, inexperienced, unprofessional excuse for an «Upscale Salon». I love everything about this place. The people are really nice and polite. They take appointments so it’s always nice to have a specific time catered to your needs. the ambience is very nice and in a very convenient location. Will always return.

A few things to note once again:
VERY BASIC SERVICE… They don’t have massage chairs for pedicures. The owner opted for a long cushioned bench ISSN spa school style.
Over priced and inexperience tech oozes from this place «American owned «alright I can tell every request was met by we can’t do that or I don’t have equipment for that.
Not an enjoyable experience some random Jamaican guy pops in talking loudly above the music, about absolutely nothing disturbing customers who are trying to relax.
They could only accommodate 2 people at a time, mani and pedi done manually no equipment which takes longer and they are not very good at it.
I had to constantly give direction pertaining to how to clip, file AND POLISH my toenails (she was suppose to be the professional)
I left with a HORRIBLE jacked up pedicure that I could have done and went right across the street to the Asian professionals to correct the issues.
Then the nail tech had the audacity to ask if I wanted to leave a tip (if I wanted to I would have stated it) *********me think not

Great ambience and design. Right from waking in the door you are made to feel welcome. The owner is polite, funny and friendly. Felt like I was talking to an old friend. A major difference from typical salons where you are ignored and/​or talked about. Good experience I will be back.

This salon has an ambiance of relaxed, clean, comfortable, and elegant. It’s better than the normal nail salon… It’s an oasis. The owner and other employees are kind, personable, and professional. They remembered me after several months of not coming in. They remembered my career and where I had moved from! Impressive! Their prices are fair as the results are very pleasing. They don’t typically take walk-​ins but since it was a Monday morning they let me come in and treated me very well. I will be back for sure! :)

Today was my first, and last, visit. The
Salon is decorated beautifully and the woman who greeted me was cheerful and welcoming. The location is convenient and it’s surrounded by many other businesses allowing you to get many weekend errands done in the same spot. There was a 20 minute wait since I was a walk-​in on a Saturday. That wasn’t a huge deal because I didn’t have an appointment and it was Saturday afternoon. The troubling part was that there were only two nail techs working. .. on a Saturday afternoon. The waiting area was comfortable so that helped. I really should have gone to the website before just stopping in. I requested a fill-​in. The nail tech used a manual nail file to do the majority of the fill-​in. Not only is this method considerably more time consuming, it’s also a less effective way to achieve a smooth, even look to the nail. I understand that it’s supposed to be more sanitary than other methods but not when the file is not new and not when my cuticles are scraped on two different nails. A mechanical file was used for a small portion of the process, however, it appeared to be old and/​or defective. There was a considerable amount of vibration to the tool. So much so that it was extremely uncomfortable whenever it was used. I started the process by asking that my nails be cut down as short as possible. I had to repeat this request near the end of the process since it wasn’t done. Additionally, when my nails were cut, they were cut with a toenail clipper that proved to be ineffective on gel powder (which the technician seemed not to be too familiar with). The nail polish used appeared to be extremely old. It was thick and gooey. The nail tech seemed to see nothing wrong with this. My nails are jagged, at least one is lumpy, there are some areas left without polish (near the edges) and I’ve spent part of the day peeling polish off of other edges. I will likely end up having to have my nails re-​done next week, someplace else, and ahead of my usual every other week schedule. Lastly, while the salon is aesthetically pleasing, it would seem that it could benefit from additional ventilation. I experienced nose irritation approximately 15 minutes after walking in. By the time I left, I had a headache. After being out of the salon for 30 minutes all symptoms ceased. It could be a coincidence. However, it’s something management might want to consider looking into. I would not recommend this salon to my friends.
