Doc’s Food & Spirits

So been back a few times since my review in 13. Food is still really good and cheap. Service has been way better than before. They just need to pick up the pace a bit, when you have a hour for lunch I would like to eat it there and not take it to go. Otherwise if you have more than a hour to spend… enjoy. Oohh the loud waitress is still there

The food is bad bar food, the drinks are strong cheap well drinks. This is the kind of place where you can probably guess what kind of product you’ll get once you walk in the door.
I don’t suggest eating anything that didn’t come from the fryer, but I also dont really suggest eating here.
Much better for just hanging, if you like a smokey loud dive bar.

Good Food! If you get too drunk manager tell you to leave or they get you a cab. Relaxed vibe you can kick back and be yourself here.

The lemon pepper wings are AWESOME and MOSCOW MULE (SERVED PROPERLY). I gave them a three star because CIG. Smoke will kill you.

The place is kool the food great some times the severs is slow but the drinks are wow strong u will have a good time and the lady’s the work here are awesome

3 stars because the drinks are at a decent price. I wish the music was a little better, the music sucks! My friends and I make fun where ever we go, but this place needs a serious update. I’m assuming their target market is not 20s and 30s because the music is for like a 40 and over crowd.

Nope… Nope…NO!!! Went to this place during lunch hour there was hardly anyone in there. First, the server acted like she didn’t want to be there which started the whole experience off wrong. The tables weren’t as clean as they should have been. I ended up ordering okra and a 10 pc hot wing. The okra was very disgusting. Its probably the worst okra I have ever had. It took 25 minutes for me to get my wings and they were cold. The servers took more interest in the men that were there than us. I was very disappointed because I was really hoping to enjoy my experience. Also it smelled really bad in there and this could be from the cigarette smoke, but yes I am good on this place unless I am ordering take out.

Shit is whack… rushed to order several times. Made the entire group uncomfortable. Asked to leave because some members of the group didn’t consume alcohol.
No costumer service=no tip

I give them 2 stars because the food is descent, and drinks are cheap and strong. However service quality sucks. I’m still sitting here at a filthy table waiting on to go food and its been over an hour. Server came to my table multiple times, didn’t try to clean it, and attempted to put my drink on a nasty table!!! Tables arent being bussed, customers not sat, food coming out late.

As a military vet I’ve been to my fair share of bars, lounges, clubs, and watering holes. With that being said Docs is a welcomed escape from a city filled with parking fees, cover charges, and over priced watered down drinks. Dawn, «Cee Cee», Shannon, Micky, and Dallas round out the best bar staff in the city. Prompt, courteous and friendly service with a smile. The chefs in back are on point as well. Best wings in the nation. Doc’s welcomes everyone from the CEO to the Janitor and treats them all the same. It’s hard to find that kind of service anywhere.

Ellen, yes I have been in you’re establishment before, Again the food wasn’t impressive, but that waitress was nicer than this experience. I have called on several occasions now, to speak with the owner, and no one has responded… So I don’t honestly plan on visiting anymore, unless there is a desperate attempt for food

I know I may have spoken bad before, but I have been back and there is a new manager name Matt. He is the best manager Doc’s has ever had! Also go on a Monday night, drinks are cheap and food is great!

Wow! it was great. I will never forget to never read comments about someone else experiance again, unless I visit myself. young or old was feeling the vibe as I were. I was very comfortable.
I was feeling down in the dump but thank god for Doc’s. because all my worries about this boy was gone, well, until I had to leave. But really needed this late night out. Me and my friends really honesly enjoied visiting this Bar.

Horrible service. Waiter was stoned I guess. Messed up every order. Smoky joint too. Bad. Skip this hole.

Feeling the need to give this place some love. I often come with a group of friends for Tuesday night trivia, and we always have a blast. Mike is so fun — he takes his time with the questions, so if you’re playing, don’t expect to be in and out in an hour. But it’s a good time, so who cares?
Make sure to sit outside if the weather is nice. The inside is very smoky.
I love their chicken fingers and tots. On healthy days, I’ve enjoyed their spinach salad with house vinaigrette. Nothing earth-​shattering. Just good bar food, y’all.
Service could be quicker — but again, we never come here in a hurry.
If you’re in the area, the weather is nice, and you’re looking for a casual meal — Doc’s is worth checking out.

Doc’s is a OK with me!!!
On a (First) Friday visit to Doc’s this past Friday night, my friend wanted to get out and turn a few corners without straying to far from our side of town. So why not DOC’s, they say???
The place was really crowded, they had a live band that played music that spoke to my soul (or it could have been those 2 voodoo alcoholic beverages I had, but who’s judging??? — ha). I was a little embarrassed, because I thought this place would be more like a restaurant than a bar, but we were wrong. My friend had a fractured ankle and a huge boot on her foot… It just looked wrong on so many levels that we were even there. Lol. We found a table up front and made a few friends inside, fairly quick might I add, with all the attention from the air cast boot. Lol.
Doc’s is dark and a bit smokey, from what I observed. I never made my way to the back, so I couldn’t tell you what was beyond the bar area, but there was a lot of great laughs happening up front where I was. We order food and drinks, the waitress was nice and very available which was surprising since it was so busy. I order the prime rib plate which came with soup or salad and one side Item, I ordered a loaded baked potato and a side salad. My food was really good, she brought out everything I needed with all the fixin. My friend ordered the wings and curly fries, I didn’t hear not one complaint from her (and she’s a complainer lol), so I’m going to say she was happy. We didn’t stay long because of the whole «boot situation» so we departed right after we finished eating.
Doc’s seems like a great spot to unwind after a long day. They have reasonably priced good food, nice drinks (little to much ice, but we can work on that).
It could easily be considered a little divey, but I do like divey. FYI: Be aware, I did encounter a very unruly character outside the bar, became irritated because I ignored him, but I tried not to judge the place over one drunk A-​hole.

A group of us were in town for work and stopped in for a beer. We didn’t know what to expect.
What we found was a great bar with outstanding bartenders and service and friendly regulars. Drinks were mixed well, beers were cold and service was on top of it. We had a great time hanging out at the bar, watching the game and talking with the regulars and staff (Charlie is hilarious!). We just missed the holdem tourney that was starting or would have jumped in that too!
Next time in town we will have to stop in again! Great time.
I get it. may not be everyones cup of tea. Smoking, older place, not lit brightly,. But we had a great time. We didnt have food while there but a great bar stop.

I called in a chicken tender salad (have to request fried) over the phone and Misty was very nice. She told me it would only take 10 – 15 minutes. I was on my limited lunch break so that’s perfect timing. Mike was very nice too. I was surprised you could smoke cigarettes (FYI). Seems to be a very friendly place.
They charge a 50 cents to go order but I didn’t mind since they were so kind. Salad was very good and fresh. I might come back when they have live music and see how they do. Keep in mind it’s bar food so expect what comes with that.

Drinks are pretty cheap, portions are relatively more than you will get at a bar. Has a patio so if you can’t deal with in door smoking. Gets packed on the weekend. Live band on some days.

In town for business stayed at the HIE which is like 4 blocks from this place … Wanted some bar grub and this place delivered (figuratively)… Got wings w fries and a pitcher of beer … The Mrs’s got chicken breast w veggies and bake tater + wine … … Oh and on Sunday’s it’s free bingo night! All served by a beautiful wait staff … … It is a Smokey joint so if it bothers you this place might not be for you … But if your looking for your typical smokey cheap food (but good) bingo slinging kinda place … Check it out

Where do I begin decided to visit docs with my family for a good burger .well after it took 15 min for a waitress to even notice us and another 20 to get our drinks, I decided to time our food order 39 min
.when we finally got our food it was ice cold and dripping in grease couldn’t even make a salad right. asked to speak with manager and waited 15min and he didn’t even acknowledge us.
This is the absolutely worst place I have ever been and will definitely be in touch with the health department.

Went there with 9 adults 3 children! My brother in law was wearing a muscle shirt they made him buy a white T shirt to wear! Our waitress just about had her boobs on your plate and her shirt barely covered her nipples! Maybe she should have worn the T-​shirt!!!
The Ruben was awful and most notably no sauerkraut on it!
We did go back the next day! My daughter and granddaughter got there first! Like the night before they were not willing to open an umbrella to shield us from the sun it could get windy and the umbrella could break! They already lost one! If you are not willing to open an umbrella for your customers then don’t have any outside!
We sat at different tables because 8 more were coming! It’s next door to our hotel and we had no time to find other places!

All of a sudden they wanted to card the children because we ordered alcohol we did order alcohol the night before and they asked no questions about the children at our table!
We went to shake and fries! Lovely waitress and great service!

Let me start by saying I use to HATE this place because of all the smoke. I’m not smoker so ugh its the only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars. Minus the smoke I love Doc’s!
The have cheap strong drinks, great food and some of the best entertainment. Sundays we go for Bingo its free to play, Mondays = karaōke, Friday & Saturday = live music, plus they have daily food and drinks specials.
Love the staff too Ciara, Corey, & Shannon are the best :)

For my 400^th review i was torn between writing a review for this little gem of a dive bar in Smyrna and Buckhead Saloon. Doc’s won out because they had more reviews on Unilocal (as of this writing Doc’s had 74 whereas B Saloon had 62).
Several years ago, I used to work very close to Doc’s when my office was on Herodian Way and later on it was in one of the high rise buildings on nearby Circle 75 Parkway. Now my office is not too far from Docs (near the Silver Comet Trail) .
I recently went here for a dart league match and noticed that not much has changed with respect to the interior /​layout /​ambience; however, the clientele is different and the retail strip plaza that has grown around it is decidedly more upscale than from what I remember from years ago.
The food is still solid as ever. You can’t go wrong with typical pub grub fare like burgers, grilled sandwiches, fries and wings. The house draft on the night I went was Busch.
i am a fan and am looking forward to returning soon. Perhaps really deserves 3.5 stars; however, Doc’s is a divey, smokey, decidedly loud Sports Bar and may not suit everyones ideal. Nuff Said.

Steak Sandwich that you can’t beat. It’s been ten years since my last meal here and it’s if time stood still. The band is rocking and the food is good and hot. There is an eclectic mix of people. You would think we were in the heart of Atlanta. Drinks are cheap– it’s just the way I remember it.
Come to Docs– you won’t be disappointed. Just keep an open mind and heart– you’ll fit right in.

I mean what I can say. I agree with several of the previous reviews. This is a total dive bar and oh so smoky. That has not been outlawed statewide by now? This is an all the way live turn up bar. The waitress even finished the drink of one the girls I was with when she came to the table. Smh. I read the wings were good, but did not have them as this was at like 2am that I first visited; after a Scandal Party turned early birthday celebration for a friend. The drinks are cheap! The overmixed margartia was $ 2.50. Jack Daniels Honey with no ice, just straight was about $ 5.
Somebody was murdered in the parking lot about 2 weeks prior to my visit. Actually 2 people. Apparantely some guy tried to holla at this girl in the bar who was with her boyfriend. The boyfriend went to the bathroom, the random dude approached and tried to buy her a drink. She declined but he was still persistent in trying to get her. She eventually just told him off and tried to leave. Made it to her car, dude follows she draws a gun and shoots him dead. His friend goes after girl and somehow gets in her car and shoots her twice. The boyfriend watched the whole thing from afar and took off running.
Okay, I may not have all the facts but it was 2am, I was little tipsy and a little tired, but I do remember hearing myself say, «Gerald, your never coming back here» while listening to the details of the story. I do want to try those wings though. It would have to be a to go order. Enter at your own risk.
