About 3 – 4 months ago I came here on a Wednesday evening with gallstones in excruciating pain. It was about 10:30 pm and the emergency room was semi full. Approx 10 people in front of me. I was sent to triage and that was fine. I was told to go back to the waiting room. Approx 45 mins later I was called back to get an Iv placed in my arm and get blood work (by a paramedic.). The Iv was tightly taped to my arm and I was sent back to wait. Still in excruciating pain I watched many people walk in and out. A young girl who had been a car wreck sat in the waiting room bleeding, crying, with a neck brace on a gurney with no medical attention. Also an older man collapsed in the floor and it took 1 hour for medical staff to come check on him. Needless to say I was taken back for an ultrasound 2 – 3 hours into this and I was still in pain, nauseated, etc. after 7 hours of waiting and determining the nurse had SKIPPED MY NAME. I was Able to see a dr who recommended surgery then and there that day. I declined. Will not be back and I recommend Gwinnett medical or dekalb. It will be worth the drive.

I’m forced to give a star, but I’m giving no stars. I came in at 9:30pm because I had gastrointestinitis & was dehydrated in a matter of 2hrs. I walked up to the desk to a lady wearing headphones who looked at me and shrugged like «what do u want?» I told her I needed to be seen by someone. I wanted to follow that up with DUH! There were only 3 people in the ER when I got there. I was promptly taken back where the women seemed nice enough until she asked if I felt nauseous… of course I said yes and she said she would get me some zofran. That took almost 30 mins so of course I threw up, but in a trash can. That was the only thing that brought out all the nurses and PAs, but it was to shake their heads basically.
So I was sent back to triage WITH tacycardia where I waited until I was nearly dead. The zofran wore off & I was basically told to just deal with vomiting. By this time there were like 30 people in the ER. 5 of then also vomiting like crazy. I witnessed several incidents where the staff flat out refused to help people get wheelchairs or give them wheelchairs when they could barely walk. 2 of those people had possible broken legs!!!
I finally was taken back around 1:30am to a room after watching several people beebop their way back there ahead of me in much better conditions than I was. I had to make eye contact with the front desk several times basically begging for help before they finally took me.
Once back there, the staff was really friendly, but the room was FILTHY! Dirty NEEDLES laying on the counter, trash all over the floor. It took forever for the doctor to come around to see me & get me meds and fluids I desperately needed.
While I was back there, they never informed my spouse where they had taken me until hours later. I was informed that a female went unconscious while walking into the ER & the staff did NOTHING to assist her or the family member that was screaming for help.
I’m very shocked this place is still operating & honestly I feel like they have or should have lawsuits out the ass!!!
DO NOT GO HERE if you need any medical attention, let along EMERGENCY attention.

I wish that the different departments of the hospital were broken down so that comments would be more specific.
I have been visiting Eastside spine and wellness at Eastside medical center for over a year now. I have never had anything but excellent experiences there. From check –in to check out I am treated with respect.
Dr. Kissell and his NP Karen both have excellent bedside manner and take the time to listen to what you have to say. They are not always charting or typing away on the computer like some docs do.
The offer realistic solutions to your problems.
I recommend them to anyone who has spine or back issues. They do not just jump right to surgery but they also don’t just throw you on medications. They offer plans such as reasonable weight loss, exercise, and stretching along with medications to get you feeling great again.

After reading the reviews on Unilocal i wanted to go to a different hospital ASAP. But couldn’t so i tried to ignore it and prayed everything goes right for me. I gave birth to my first child here. The nurse who took care of me the moment i got there was also the one who delivered my baby and i LOVED her. she was very kind and talked to me as though we were friends which i needed because i was super nervous and scared. The other nurses who took care of me after were rude. If i didn’t answer their question as soon as they finish their sentence they would give me an attitude. Talked to me like i was idiot. Always seemed angry. And the way they held my child they held her as though she was a toy. They need to fix the AC there too because my baby couldn’t sleep unless i held her because she was shaking at how cold it was even my mom and i were cold! and apparently the nurses told me it was the highest it could go but it was still freezing.
Over all, i’d come back IF all nurses were as kind and friendly as the nurse who delivered my baby. but really i’d most likely want to go to a different hospital for my next baby for better AC and friendly staff.

Those moments in life when you may lose someone you love… Eastside staff will make the experience so much worse. This facility runs the gamut from uneducated desk clerks to lazy, disengaged nurses. Please take the time, if you have it, to go to another ER. Do not subject yourself or your loved ones to the subpar nurses and the uncaring attitude they display.

As others have pointed out the wait at any part, at any time, on any day is beyond RIDICULOUS! The response time from the staff to any situation is RIDICULOUS! Poorly trained staff to say the least, took 4 nurses to start an IV on me…4 for goodness sakes! Did I mention I came to the ER for acute Pancreatitis and I was made to wait well over 5 hours! Not eating is the main remedy besides pain management, NO ONE paid attention to me even after I was allowed a liquid diet I had to beg for water. Another highlight this evening was stepping on a shard of broken glass in my room! When I hit the call button for the nurse I had to wait almost 10 minutes then all I heard was BROKEN GLASS? AINT SUPPOSED TO BE NO BROKEN GLASS ON THE FLOOR. I would certainly not suggest this hospital for any reason whatsoever, if you can make the trip to Piedmont or North Side, well worth the trip.

Just to be fair there have been some very nice staff members but nice is not as important as pro-​active, diligent and competent. The grounds: and majority of the facilities are nice but then again broken glass on a patient’s floor isn’t acceptable. Still cannot recommend this hospital.

I was admitted here thru the ER. The ER doctor and nurses were great. The biggest problem I had with the ER staff is that they took way too long to do anything.. I was barely able to walk I was so sick and I called and called for help to go to the bathroom none came.. I embarrassingly had an accident and when the nurse finally came in (way to late) she said she would be back in a moment to get me cleaned up.. I ended up sitting in my own mess for almost an hr.. it’s ridiculous
I was placed in the ICU where in my opinion the nurses flat out were rude. durring shift change I had a question about my meds the nurse going off duty just couldn’t be bothered to answer me other than they are not due … so I asked the nurse coming on shift if she could explain medication schedule to me and and angrily told me «the other nurse told you they are not due yet» …
A few mornings later I asked my nurse about a drink my bf had brought me as I didn’t want to to upset my blood sugar situation and I was very rudely told «well you came in here with high blood sugar so clearly you don’t take care of self anyway so I guess it doesn’t make much a diferance does it»… I was floored that a nurse would talk to a patient like that.
The food is the worst part by far of this whole expwriance. more than once I was served milk that was past experation date as well as my trays coming wrong (you order what you want) and as a diabetic im on a insulin shot schedule and when your tray is supposed to be there I expect that it would be close to that time but on more than one occasion my tray came as much as 3 hours later which left me having low blood sugars and other problems.. I will never come back to this hospital .
The icing on the cake is that I have very severe allergies and they checked and doubled checked probably 6 times during my registration and the first thing my doctor did was prescribe me meds I am allergic to and then proceed to argue with me about it even tho it is clearly marked in my chart. .
Please save yourself the agrivation and go somewhere that might actually take care of you..

I have utilized this hospital multiple times over the years, each time with good service. Yesterday morning my husband and I had the need to see the emergency room at 5:30 am. Our experience was Luke warm at best. It appeared they had adequate number of staff but not in the nursing and physician area. The staff 3 registering us did not have a sense of urgency or care. Two sat and watched while one waited on us. After being taken back to a bed, this pattern continued. Our bed was outside the nursing station. I got to hear staff chit chat for over 20 minutes loudly discussing what they cooked for dinner and how they cooked it. Apparently they did not have other things to do. Our nurse and PA were very cordial. Too bad they could not have more of them or make all of them working. We witnessed one lady walk out after waiting over 2 hours without being seen. They need to improve their attitude (front seemed irritated to help someone. Remember although it is an everyday task to them, to the patient, it is urgent. Apathy and genuine concern can go a long way).

I have only been to the women’s center, but when I came in through the ER one time not knowing about the other entrance, a rude nurse asked the other nurse while i was waiting to go up stairs, does she even have insurance!!! Ummm… should it matter? I’m having labor pains! While upstairs it was a pleasant experience, other than one of the nurses was obviously watching tv, walked off with the remote and I was stuck watching a program and channel I don’t enjoy or watch. But other than that, I’ve had a pleasant time. Nurses except one have all been pleasant and welcoming!
I’m so nervous about having my baby here after reading reviews and only giving birth in one other place. On my induction papers it says I need to bring the baby clothes, my own pads, and yadda yadda! I thought I just needed a coming home outfit for the baby, and the hospital provided the mesh underwear and big big pads right after birth! I hope so cause those pads are awesome! I also hope they have a sitz bath to send home with me as well as the water bottle I got from the other hospital when I gave birth. I’m looking for a high quality experience as this other hospital is in Montgomery and not affiliated with a high up like Emory nor has the funding this one has! Pray I don’t have to write a bad review. Cause this was a big choice I made to come here instead of staying in Alabama or going to Dekalb!!!

Honestly, I’ve not used this hospital for their ER… I’ve used them for their specialists. And they’re so so. This hospital does basic lab work in a pinch, which I’ve undergone before, and it was somewhat expensive.
My endocrinologist has his office here and the office itself is classic doctor’s office interior… Wait time wasn’t superb, even with many month’s in advance setup.
Overall this hospital is alright and I’ll continue to visit them.

If I could give them a zero I would. This place is terrible especially the night staff. I am sitting here in pain and the nurse practitioner is trying to tell me I am fine. No test No Xrays No Nothing. What happened to doing through checkout. I tell you what they anit lacking on is personal conversations. I can tell about these nurses and the husband’s. One of the nurses brothers is a cop. Everybody is hungry and wants to know what everybody is cooking for the forth of July. They just keep talking while people in pain. Trust me when I say don’t go hear. If you can afford to travel another hospital do so. These people don’t care about you or your life.

The Nurses here are the worst possible group of people ever. I had my daughter here and I can honestly say I am never going back ever again. Next time I’m just going to have my baby in the car if I don’t make it to anywhere else in time over going to this hospital. One of the night nurses actually said my 14 hours old baby (yes HOURS) was a fat and lazy baby because she couldn’t breastfeed and another nurse said «ah poor baby! when they asked if I was returning to work. After my C section when I asked the nurse where I was going, she was rude and nasty to me. Overall I would say go somewhere else. I had a pediatric cardiologist who looked like he was desperate for business and said something about my child having a heart condition that none of the 3 pediatricians I went after I was discharge could confirm it because they didn’t hear any heart condition. So he made me pay for services unsolicited and unneeded. What a waste.
Otherwise the other doctors were OK. Not the most caring lot but way better than the unprofessional rude and inappropriate night nurses.

I have kidney stones very frequently. They usually take a long time to pass! Went to emc with excruciating pain and vomiting. I understand that there was a 4 hour wait just to be seen but what I don’t understand is being in so much pain and over an hour after I was given pain medication via injection and then pushing the nurse call button after being very patient thinking that maybe my nurse would check on me sooner or later because the medicine they gave me never even touched my pain for my nurse to come in with discharge papers telling me very rudely that the doctor was not going to give me more medicine that I needed to go get my prescription filled to get out of pain! I was not told anything about my urinalisis results or my blood work. Why even take my urine or my blood if your not going to give me the results and just pretty much tell me to get out and deal with it on my own! Its not like I enjoy having kidney stones, I have just had them since I was 17. Have some compassion people and check on your patients because without them you wouldn’t have a job!

We pulled up, to, the emergency room on a Sunday evening with my 88 yr old mother who was feeling dizzy. My sister went in and asked for a wheelchair. 3 employees were standing near the desk. They directed her to search for a wheelchair but did not offer any assistance or show any concern for my mother. Our first impression was so poor that we decided to get back in the car and drive her to Dekalb Medical Center. Unfortunately, Eastside is the closest hospital to our home. Extremely unprofessional.

Amazing! I am sitting here in the Women’s center waiting room listening to who (I thought might be the janitor) is the receptionist cussing and trash talking employees and customers. So unprofessional. I would never want to stay in this hospital or have anything done here. Only here to visit a family member.
He just stated he is the security man. What a joke!

I am a physician and I would never go to this hospital. Terrible experience when father was admitted here, question the competency of their physicians.

The ER is a dangerous place to be. I was vomiting blood for hours, and Piedmont hospital (where I go for my treatment) was shocked at the lack of patient care I received here. The sign said ER wait time was 7 minutes. We waited for hours to get a private room. During this time I was forced to be in a waiting room with others, while uncontrollably and extremely painfully vomiting blood. Allowing bodily fluids to be in the same vicinity as other patients shows an extreme lack of ethics. This hospital needs a review. I was extremely ill and even after getting a room, was not given adequate care.
DO NOT GO HERE.
To add insult to injury — they blew my vein which resulted in initial pain and a huge bruise.

I was in a car accident and went in to get checked out since it’s the closest hospital to me. Waited there for HOURS before anyone saw me. I technically left the next day. While in the waiting room a patient came in vomiting continually and no one thought it necessary to take her to the back. They let the patient vomit into a tin pan and the entire waiting room of course smelled. I finally went back to get x rays and had to do it twice because apparently they didn’t come out right, so more waiting. I was eventually told I could go and was given a pain killer and the doctor said I was fine, but would be sore. Woke up the next day unable to even lift my right arm and in extreme pain. Only then had my mother looked over the papers and told me that I was diagnosed with a sprained shoulder. The doctor said nothing. I will not return to this hospital again.

Slow ER and very unprofessional staff. Wait time is a joke… Went in around 11:30 and left around 4 a.m.

So the ER wait time is a joke. Here it our time line:
Arrived at 2:30pm and checked in
2:45pm go back for a EKG
2:50pm return to waiting room
3:00pm give insurance information
7:10pm go to the ER patient rooms
7:15pm Nurse checks in and starts her paperwork
8:15pm Doctor checks in
8:25pm X-​Rays
9:15pm Nurse returns for more stuff
9:20pm Doctor returns to explain
9:45pm Discharge
The 4 hour wait time in the ER waiting room was the thing that we are most dissatisfied with. Give us a number, pager, or even a call so we can come back. Not a pleasant experience but I guess that’s not what they are aiming for.
