I’ve been a couple of times and find the selection and quality very satisfying. Love the variety of sushi & delicious hot items. You have to fight other patrons to get the lobster when it comes out, but hey… it’s not their fault lol. I’ve been twice and plan for more visits

I wanted to give 3.5 stars as it is a step up from your usual Chinese buffet but it did not measure up to sushi buffets like Nori Nori. I decided to round down because it’s not a place I would go back to or crave on a regular basis. It’s only 19.99 for dinner on weekdays now, and you just can’t beat that. You also can’t expect it to be Nori Nori when Nori Nori charges about double the price. They have items on the hot bar like sweet and sour fish that is very authentic(my mom would love it) and Chinese broccoli. Most of the dishes are well made and not too salty like some restaurants will do to get you to drink more water and get full. I stayed away from the rolls. They were not very special, and I went towards the end of the night and the rice looked dry. The nigiri was also mediocre. There wasn’t any sashimi. The oysters were decent though and they were good about refilling it. The hibachi was a big disappointment. The ingredients they have were good, but the sauce they used was just too sweet with no other flavor. There also wasn’t any yellow dipping sauce which I always use with hibachi. I really like that they have crème brûlée on their dessert bar. Very yummy. They also have flan, but I didn’t like it. Unfortunately, I didn’t try their noodle bar. I was too full and there wasnt anyone standing by so it almost looked like the station was closed. Maybe next time.

The best Japanese buffet I visited in the US! Everything is perfect. Fresh food, authentic flavor, various choices and great price. You can never expect more than that.

I have been here a couple times. The food has not failed me yet. I like the crawfish, sauteed clams, the sushi, hibachi, soup, wings, desserts, …for the lunch menu($ 9.99 except sunday) and for dinner(29.99) I like steak/beef and crab legs too. Its nice and clean place. Not a lot of people so you dont have to fight for food :). Staff is also nice. Carryout price is different though(its $ 1 per sushi piece). Its in a shopping strip so convenient after you eat you can shop too.

The best part about this buffet is my orange soda. What does that tell you about this buffet? Also, If I had the option to give this place a 0 star, I would. Unfortunately Unilocal doesn’t allow to post if I did not give its rating.

Best sushi lineup I’ve seen at a buffet restaurant. Excellent, friendly service. Nice interior. Quiet and relaxing. I don’t know about dinner but lunch is a very good value. I’d take guests here without hesitation. Recommended.

It’s not Nori Nori, but Hokkaido is a decent buffet all the way out in Snellville. And yea, we specifically drove out here one Saturday for lunch where it’s 9.99/person. I couldn’t believe it when I heard it especially since I heard dinner is $ 25 or $ 30 per person. Don’t quote me on the dinner price though. The point is, it’s much more expensive for dinner. Let’s start with their sushi. They’re trying the best they can to imitate Nori Nori, but they just don’t have variety of rolls. The quality of the fish on the nigiri sushi is ok although I’ve had better. The rest of the buffet is mostly Chinese food, so you’ll have your typical sweet and sour chicken, chicken and broccoli, BUT you know what, they do a good job with these. My favorite hot entrée was probably the tofu and broccoli where the tofu has a fried skin but it’s still soft on the inside. There is a mongolian BBQ stir-fry station but I didn’t see many people in line for it. Desserts are just ok where again, you see how they’re trying to imitate Nori Nori with small cakes and soft service ice cream. They do one-up Nori Nori by serving sesame balls which one usually finds at dim sum. The ice cream is meh, lacking the green tea flavor and too much milk. My only gripe about this place is that they don’t refill the bars enough. The sushi bar didn’t refill their salmon for at least an hour. The tofu in that tofu entrée I mentioned was never filled up again. All the fried«Chinese donuts» and sesame balls were never replaced again during the time I was there. So I’m led to believe the best time to go is close to their opening when everything is still out fresh since it’s slim pickings when they close their lunch hour around 3pm. Seriously though, can’t beat 9.99 for a weekend lunch for good quality food(not including their sushi/sashimi).

Change is inevitable. Hokkaido finally is open every day for lunch, has dropped the price, but the available selections have followed. No longer can duck be found at lunch, or many vegetables, really making it not worth an hour’s drive from areas south of the Perimeter. So rare to find duck on a buffet and this is a significant loss.

If you’re the kind of person who loves to eat good food but enjoys variety, then you’re like me! I enjoyed the variety of sushi and salads. However, some of the sushi rolls were sitting out a bit too long as the rice seemed to be getting stale. Most of the sushi I ate was pretty good, you won’t find anything extravagant like a dragon roll, super crunch or rainbow roll, but they cover the basics. I primarily came here for their snow crab and figured that I would have a better deal on a Friday since it would be a la carte and not as busy.($ 16 dinner + $ 7 for a lb of snow crab) unfortunately, the crab was absolutely tasteless. Even the melted butter seemed like yellow oil. I was über disappointed. The snow crab looked good, but didn’t taste remotely great. They offer a few variety of udon(seafood, beef, chicken etc) and is served hot, which is great on a cold night. Dessert can be a treat, when they fix their ice cream machine. I was looking forward to the green tea ice cream, but it came out super watery. flan was decent, and my friend really enjoyed the lychee flavored jello. There was no crème brûlée! Overall, this place has the items I enjoy eating all in one place, but I wish they would pay closer attention and have better quality food. i.e. Fresher sushi, solid green tea ice cream, fresh snow crab etc. The presentation is all there, but i wasn’t able to enjoy the things I would say justified the price.

Best sushi & seafood buffet around. Prices & selection cut back since my last visit a year ago, but now it’s a REALLY good value($ 10 lunch, $ 16 dinner weekdays & $ 30 fri/sat/sun dinner). weekend dinner is pricey but you can’t beat the M-Sat lunch or mon-thur dinner prices. Quality only diminishes when food isn’t restocked often(i.e. no customers) so I hope more people discover this seafood buffet. Lunch has oysters, sushi, crawfish, hibachi among a big nice spread of Asian & american foods. Good soups. Green tea froyo, fresh fruits. Dinner adds some special dishes. Galbi. Thai Grouper. Duck. Fried blue crab.(You can add on crablegs at $ 6/lb & lobster for like $ 25/two lobsters). Weekend dinner adds lobster, crablegs, & sashimi. Probably some more dishes.

I came here when they first open and loved it, but since it’s a little out of the way, I haven’t been back since. $ 31.99 for AYCE seafood, hibachi, sushi, and Chinese food. Worth every penny. Im very picky when it comes to buffet food, but this place very good quality food. They use real crab & fish maw in the fish maw soup, good quality meats in the hibachi. They even have Peking Duck made to order! For desserts, there’s Crème brûlée, flan, fresh fruits, and ice cream. Over all. Best Buffet around. Only if it wasn’t so far away :( The service could be better though. I had to ask for a drink refill a couple times, and cleaned my own table and pushed the dirty plates to the end of the table for her to noticed them to take them away.

Woah disappointment. It was not money well spent. I went in for a weekday dinner costing $ 32/person. You walk in and the design is a slightly better than a cheap Asian buffet. The staff while mostly friendly were very unprofessional. The waitress wasn’t friendly, the hostesses were occupied with reading or phone playing, and the sushi chef guy wasn’t friendly. BIGGESTCOMPLAINT is that they put out so little sashimi and sushi that you’re waiting for it like you’re waiting for a sample at Hmart. I paid $ 32 to wait? I understand waste control but they put out about 5 – 10 slices of 6 different sashimi. While that may sound like a lot, this is for the whole restaurant. Their oysters were not fresh and neither was the lobster. They put out b/t 3 – 7 pieces per roll type and many of them weren’t fresh. You feel bad taking what you want b/c you have to leave some for the guy behind you. The cooked foods selection is decent but it’s a sushi buffet so the focus is on the wrong place. They have a grill and a noodle soup station. Their desserts were weak. They have all the typical fruit but for a $ 32 dinner their pastries were lacking. They had 3 cakes, some flan, and some random baked things. They have 4 ice cream selections but 2 were broken. The green tea tastes just like the strawberry/banana flavor on the adjacent lever. Overall, this place was a disappointment on several levels. I would not recommend this place.

So, my perspective on this was place was that Hokkaido was suppose to better than Nori Nori. Eh, beauty is the eye of the beholder. Basically, I think this place is much more geared towards a chinese food palette with items like roasted pork belly, sea cucumber, abalone, and roasted duck. Whereas Nori Nori has more Japanese items and more Americanized asian-fusion. I would that this place has better Sushi but it’s kind of far IMO. Otherwise, good food, definitely worth a try if you want to high quality sushi buffet.

Fantastic seafood buffet! There’s ginger and scallion lobster, crawfish, crab legs, clams, scallops, and a huge assortment of sushi and sashimi. There’s also frog legs, peking duck, and essentials like fried rice, dumplings and soups. It’s a foodie’s paradise. Not an ideal buffet for picky eaters. Only adventurous eaters.

Its good eating fo sure. I don’t usually do buffet, but after seeing the pictures on buddy’s FB, we decided to give this a go. There is a lot of food and a lot of variety. For lunch, we think the highlight is the nigiri sushi. Sizeable cut and good fish to rice ratio. The sushi is not too shabby. We sampled most of them and found the yellow tail, white tuna, snapper, tuna and tobiko to be very good. They do have salmon, tomago, ikura and rolls. Sushi ain;t all that shabby I kinda pigged out on the roast duck, peking duck, frog legs, roast pork and pepper shrimp. I would say, the chef in the back may be Chinese and they serve fresh out the oven roast duck. That is pretty impressive for a buffet. and if you like Oysters, they do have them here as well. Appears to be pretty fresh and of the gulf coast type.

You know those dishes that are off the menu at a standard chinese restaurant that can only be requested usually in advance or if you know what they are? This places basically has all of those plus sushi and dessert. From peking duck in a boa, beef noodle soup, abalone, hong kong style lobster, black bean oyster, that mayo honey deep fried shrimp usually served with broccoli and pecans, etc. That is on top of a selection of Japanese food from chicken katsu, tempura, octopus balls, sashimi, baby octopus, sushi selection, raw oysters and snow crab(fresh and big!) etc. And dessert is ice cream(green tea, chocolate, etc.), fruit covered in fondue chocolate. The place is very clean and the service is not bad considering it is a chinese restaurant. I enjoyed the selection and I know I am not the only asian to say that because half the people there were asian and that is saying something. Similar price to nori nori at $ 30 for dinner. I would mainly come back for the chinese selection than sushi to be honest as if I was craving sushi I would prefer nori nori as that is more sushi specific. Overall, I enjoyed the selection and experience and will be back if I crave good Chinese food and want a selection of choices. Its more worth it for me to go to a buffet than a normal chinese restaurant to get these dishes as we are just a household of 2.

2 of the 3 times I ate here were birthday dinners, all on Saturday nights. The variety of tables makes it good for either just one or 20. Weekend dinner here is the talk of town. For $ 30 you have all the seafood you want… Lobster, sashimi, sushi, hibachi, etc. It also serves decent Hong Kong style BBQ, including roast pork, crispy pork, bbq duck, and also the famous Peking duck. The skin is actually crispy, which makes it even better than some of the so-called Cantonese restaurants on Buford Highway. One of the surprisingly good eat here is actually the dessert. Some Unilocalers complained about the crème brûlée not burnt enough. You can actually request the dessert maker to burn it darker for you. Every time I eat here I get at least 3 crème brulees. For lobster, my tip is to stand in front of the emptied plate and wait for fresh ones to come out. If you are shy, you will probably never see any lobster meat. And if you see me around, then good luck getting any lobster.

I knew all about Hokkaido before stepping in the door, especially the price. That’s one reason why I’ve never even tried to go to Nori Nori. The case with Nori Nori mainly is the sushi buffet. I’ve learn to like sushi but I’m not so much of a fan that I will travel that far for it. Plus there’s no way I could convince my hubby to go that far for that reason. When I told him about Hokkaido and showed him the lobster pics that Hue T. posted. He was down to try it out. First of all, how many places offer lobsters on their buffet? Not only that, Atlanta doesn’t have many(or any) buffets that offers snow crab legs anymore either. If it’s offered, it’s additional, per pound. I don’t love seafood but I sure do love me some shrimp! I’ve seen more variety at other Asian buffets but let’s get real, the quality here is so much better. The flavors are on point! I tried to taste everything but didn’t. I ended up overeating on the lobster, seafood udon, coconut shrimp, grill shrimp, and fried shrimp. I cannot repeat which sushi I ate but I did like it. Again, I’m not a huge sushi fan so I cannot compare it with other places. All I can say is that I really liked them and went back for fourths. According the some reviews and Unilocal photos, there are macarons. But there was none when went. There was crème bruelee, flan, cookies, other desserts, along with the chocolate fondue We went in knowing it’s $ 30/person. We ended up paying for 8 people total. Plus 20% tip, the ladies were attentive and worked hard busting their butts. Seriously. It’s that good. I honestly think it’s the best buffet out there for the flavor. Definitely a fan!
