Okay I am changing my review the day I posted the last one wasn’t good and I am now I want to let you all know the ladies in the office have bent over backwards for me so I’m able to get financed I can’t thank Deborah and Jamie for everything I can say enough kind words about the two of them you ladies Rock!

Dealing with banks, loans, and real estate is always a stressful situation but Kris and her team completely made us feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire home loan process. I’m truly blown away by their communication skills, professionalism, and efficiency in getting our loan closed sooner than expected with minimal effort on our end. The best part? The personalized touch of getting to meet and work directly with the owner in a gorgeous office that feels warm and comfortable like a friends living room — rather than cold and stoic like a bank lobby. I found myself making extra trips just to say hi and grab a latte!

My husband and I originally reached out to Kris Crane (Owner) to begin the pre-​approval process and the level of professionalism and respect we have received has been remarkable. Our emails and phone calls are always responded to in a timely manner and all of our questions have been answered thoroughly — ultimately making this entire process very efficient. Direct quotes during our final conversation with the pathetic owner (Kris Crane) of this pathetic business:
«We don’t have much experience with self-​employed people,» «we’re too busy to call clients back,» «we’re not familiar with the new forms and rules,» etc., etc., etc. This company lost us over $ 60,000 in tax deductions – yes you read that right, $ 60,000. RUN AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AS FAST AS YOU CAN! They truly have NO CLUE what they are doing.

The only reason I’m giving 1star is because they’re making me. We were working with Deborah for a home loan, but never did she reach out and call us or even meet us. I made many of trips to the office in a 3 weeks period and not once was she there. Which if she was doing her job I wouldn’t even care, but I did all the leg work for her, I also felt that she didn’t put in the effort. She would email me daily of things she needed, and a lot of it was right in front of her ie. Mortgage and escrow questions on our rental that I gave her the papers too, or the fact that she couldn’t complete a loan with us when we have over ¾ of price of home in liquid assets.
Everything from the way she spoke to me «the one time she answered her phone“to her emails, very unprofessional. This truly was poor customer service. It’s a very personal experience when buying a family home, and she was anything but precessional. Sorry you won’t get our business, or word of mouth business.

Are you also self employed? Then Kris Crane is your gal! 16 years ago when buying our first house, we were told multiple times by numerous lenders that we couldn’t get a loan (any loan, at any rate) because we were self employed. Kris Crane was the first person to say «yes you can!» and spent relentless hours finding the program that was right for us. I cannot tell you what it was like to have someone go to bat for us! And her loan was at a great rate! We have used her again since that first house to refinance our current home and she again worked miracles for us! Thank you, Kris, businesses like yours are hard to come by!

TL;DR
The Bad:
–It took more than a week to inform us that our broker had left the company and ultimately we found out through other sources before they notified us. They failed to communicate an update on the status of our file considering the change in processing officer.
–Consistent errors in ALL communications both formal documentation and email communications.
–No transparency or status updates during the processing of our loan documentation unless WE proactively asked them.
–Answered our questions many times with simply «I don’t know» without any indication they would look into the issue further
The Good:
–Successfully got our loan funded (1 star)
We began the process in February by interviewing several mortgage brokers and finally selected one who, at the time was transitioning her business to Crane. We really liked her personality and experience, so we decided to stay the course through her transition. (This was our first mistake). Over the course of the next 3 months, we received documents and email communication with both clerical and grammatical errors in them (not exaggerating, every single document and/​or communication had at minimum something spelled incorrectly). When you’re relying on someone to process a binder of documents that will ultimately make you liable for hundreds of thousands of dollars, you want them to be accurate, right? Twice my fiancé even received another buyer’s personal documents and emails through their «secured» email server (Yikes!). Made us concerned that our personal information was being sent around to the wrong owners! We should have gone elsewhere at this point but we held on (second mistake!). We were given excuse after excuse by our broker that it was a new system/​team and she was still getting used to the way things worked at this company. I’m sorry, but new system or not, her and her team were the ones entering the information that ultimately is recorded in these documents and the «system» does not spell names incorrectly or put decimal points in the wrong places; two very important details in a loan file.
About one month before we were set to close, we realized we’d not been receiving replies from our mortgage broker but instead emails were being forwarded to the owner of the company and others on the team were responding. Thinking this was strange, we called our broker directly who then informed us that she no longer worked for this company and was asked not to tell us because they wanted to tell us themselves. Oh, and this happened 7 days prior! Crane did not feel it important enough to tell us that the person we had started this process with (and whose name is on all our documents) would no longer be handling our file. I believe had we not forced the issue they likely would not have told us at all. Apparently a courtesy call to explain this change and reset expectations moving forward was too much to ask.
This level of communication (or lack of) is what we came to expect with this company. I only ever spoke to someone on the phone twice (after we learned that our broker was no longer handling our file) and only to be reassured that «your file is fine; we’re still moving along as we planned.» That would have been nice to know when the change of our loan officer had just happened, at this point we didn’t feel we could trust them to get anything done in time and our file was on a very tight timeline. This was not helping to reassure us of anything. Several times we reached out with a question and they simply forwarded the question to our realtor (who was the one who told us to ask the question in the first place!) with no actual response. They seemed to be disorganized, had no clarity in communication, a lack of attention to detail, and no transparency.
To be fair, they were all very polite and friendly the few times we did speak on the phone where they were «assuring» us that everything was going smoothly all the while not ever actually providing any status updates on our file or telling us what to expect next.
Had we started the process with them from the beginning perhaps things may have been different and we could have set our expectations better, to make sure everyone was all on the same page in regard to the expected level of communication and so on. But as it was, it felt incredibly disorganized and the process of being handed off mid-​way was incredibly stressful and handled poorly. We’re aware this was not a standard situation with an agent leaving the company midway through processing a file, but they had the opportunity to make it a smooth transition and failed. Ultimately our file got processed and Crane got it done but it was down to the wire. We were sitting in the escrow office signing papers while the final approvals were still getting taken care of. If I had to do this all over again, I would find a real estate agent I liked and get THEIR recommendation for both lender and escrow. I would NOT recommend Crane.

I am getting my home loan through Crane Financial. They are the nicest, most wonderful group of people I have ever met. It is a real pleasure to talk to them. They are extremely up beat and positive and just all around amazing. Kris has been doing home loans for over 20 years and she is a pro; not like any of the banks you can get a loan through. We almost gave up on buying a house because of all the run around the banks were giving us. We decided to call Kris and talk with her and I’m so glad we did. She has changed our whole outlook on buying a house. I love Crane Financial Group and will recommend them to anyone I know or see who is looking to buy a house.
I have worked with both Becky and Kris and they both have been very positive, helpful and patient will the many questions my husband and I have had and I have no doubt they will continue to help with such great attitudes and willingness.

I can not say enough positive things About Crane Financial Group I had a very complex 1031, After contacting a number of Financial organizations that directed me to there web site for pre approval without listening to my needs Kris, Becky and Tracy not only helped me they went out of there way to explain the process. They kept in constant contact with TXT, email, or a quick phone call. Directly communicating with my 1031 officer and my CPA. the entire process could not have been easier.
If you are buying, your first home or your tenth home you need to reach out to Crane Financial Group. They took all the stress away from me, kept it super simple, explained ALL my options. Not just the options that was easy for them They even took my calls on sunday’s. In this fast paced world «smart phone’s» faceless shopping it was a relief to place a call and have it answered on the first few rings.

I have talked to Crane Financial group twice now and both times have been very impressed by the wonderful service I have received. The office takes the time to go over with you your current mortage/​financial and personal situations to find the best solution for your needs. I really appreciate that they can be honest and say that their services may not be the best option to fit individual needs and help send you to others or let you know your current program is best. A business that cares enough to turn away a client because it would not be in the clients best interest to change loan providers, ect is outstanding. I highly recommend Crane Financial Group and recommend that you take the time to meet with them to see if they may be of value to you.
