History

Established in 2009.

Inquisitek was founded in the heart of the Great Recession. In the spring of 2009, Todd Huotari was laid off from a precision manufacturing firm due to a major production hit and decided to open up a web design shop. With experience in a variety of industries, a love of business and helping others, and a desire to «do his own thing,» Todd founded Inquisitek with the mission to help small businesses take advantage of technology to improve their business and, ultimately, their lives.

Since then, Inquisitek has changed from a focus on building websites to a focus on getting more customers. We have grown from freelance website design into an agency that provides a full suite of managed inbound marketing services.

Meet the Business Owner

Todd H.

Business Owner

I studied business and information systems at the University of Washington. Towards the end of my time there I started to realize that I really ought to develop a real practical business skill. I needed to learn something so that when I graduated I could say: «I can do this for you.» Websites seemed interesting, so I grabbed a DIY web publishing book and started plugging away. My first project was my own online resume.

My focus on design is very much in the system — pulling various disconnected tools together into a system that allows for the frictionless flow of information. That is beautiful to me.

As an engineer, my Dad used to always tell me, «Todd, you shouldn’t have to force things.» You really should not have to force things. If you are forcing it, you probably are not doing it right. I love trying to find that spot where things happen naturally.
