Specialties
We don’t just make pizza, we craft it. Using only the freshest, tastiest and highest quality ingredients available. We even make our own deep dish crust, in house, every day. And we’ve been doing it that way ever since we opened our doors in 1943. Whether it’s our world-famous deep dish, or one of our other craveable menu creations, we aim to deliver rich, bold flavor with the perfect balance of nutrition so our guests can enjoy a rewarding experience that fits their mood and lifestyle. It’s that kind of passion and expertise that sets us apart with a unique experience that you just won’t find anywhere else.
History
Established in 1943.
The Uno story began in Chicago in 1943 when Ike Sewell developed the first deep dish pizza and opened a new type of restaurant at the corner of Ohio and Wabash. His recipe combined buttery, handmade crust that had a tall edge like a fruit pie with layers of cheese, tomato sauce, fresh toppings and a blend of authentic Italian spices. After being baked for nearly an hour, it tasted unlike anything that had been served before. Everyone who tried it fell in love with the rich, bold flavor and the lines have been forming out the door ever since.
