City of Solana Beach

This is probably one of my favorite beaches in sd, I love how it’s super laid back and you don’t have to deal with a lot of crowds, you can also bring your dogs as long as they are on leash

Came here to visit a beach down some stairs. I mean since my feet hit the concrete from my car. Everyone I came across flashed us a smile or just a short hello… I swear the beach had gold flakes with every wave. Nice area, nice people and nice and clean. Loved it all. you just don’t get that in nasty Santa Monica or malibu. Just rich snobby people that knock your butt down. Or cut you off because everyone’s in a hurry.

I love this town! I’m so glad that the Belly Up Tavern is there because it’s so close to me. I also like all the food options like Waters, Hot Dogs Yum (I really miss them), and Pizza Port. Also Café La Bocca is pretty good.

Best small beach town ever!!! Friendly, clean, fabulous. Love living here!!! Coastal living recently called it one of their dream towns. Hideaway café has great breakfast — wonderful ladies. The beach is great — never 2 crazy busy — great place to visit and live.

Beautiful, clean and tranquil.
My first visit and I am already planning my next visit for next weekend.

I like this city. That’s why I live here.
I’ve been in Solana Beach for years.
It’s upscale, artsy, but can be a little bit sleepy at times.
Lots of places close at 10pm.
Traffic can be hellish when the fair rolls around.
There are a few places to grab a drink.
Tidewater Tavern
Sublime
Saddle Bar
Chiefs Burgers and Brew
and even a bar at the Del Mar Fairgrounds
known as Surfside Raceplace
You’ve got the design district on Cedros where there are plenty of
cute, artsy shops as well as the famous Belly Up.
It’s got it’s share of Beaches and the waves for surfing can be found.
There is a stop for the local Coaster and Amtrak (they share the same rail stop)
Fiesta Del Sol every summer is a great festival that the city of Solana Beach puts out. Free bands, good eats, good shopping.

IF we could live in any of the beach towns then this would be the one. Alas, hubby would have too long a commute given that his work is in the ‘burbs and let’s face it you don’t get hardly as much May Gray or June gloom inland!
Solana is beautiful, nice beaches, lots of lovely little eateries, Belly up tavern, design district and the coaster stops right there.
If you are going to an event in Del Mar racegrounds there is often a bus service from the coaster station.
They have recently made upgrades to the parking on the 101 highway. However, if parking is tight you can park for 2 hours in the Design district on Cedros Monday-​Saturday or for longer on a Sunday!

This is the city of richy people that take one look at me and hold their purse and hug their children tighter *no kidding!*
I would give this little costal city 4 stars, except for the fact that the city just passed an ordinance that makes the businesses in the city give away paper bags instead of plastic. That means if you want to make a purchase in this fine city, you either have to bring your own bag or pay 50 cents to take a bag out of the store. Ridiculous!
But this city has 2 major things going for it. Randys hot dogs and Jersey Mikes subs! You have to try these places out if you stop by.

I love Solana Beach!
4 stars simply for the traffic, but this quaint smaller area of San Diego is lovely.
Tucked off of Loma Santa Fe you’ll find the best Marshalls & Ross in all of San Diego! A Pizza Nova, BevMo, Chase bank, one of the cleanest CVS’ you’ll find, a pet store, Ulta & so much more.
Once you make your way to the PCH the possibilities are endless! Restaurants & shops as far as the eye can see!
Don’t want to drive and deal with the traffic? The Coaster stops right on the PCH in Solana Beach!

I love this town. All the little stores, a nice secluded beach, and PIZZA PORT… what else could you ask for? o and its off the freeway. bonus
