I normally do not do Unilocal but expected way more from Children’s Hospital. On Friday my son 18 months old was brought to Children’s emergency room by ambulance from his doctors office. He was suffering from croup. The paramedics were amazing gave him a breathing treatment. When we arrived saw a doctor right away she said give it an hour and see how the treatment worked. He did get discharged with instructions for a follow up on the next day which was Sat. I told her my doctor was not in and on the discharge papers there was a list of three different medications that say should be prescribed? Her response was drive him around in the cold air with the windows down(what is he a dog) to clear his air way if that does not help bring him back. Over the weekend he wasn’t getting better or worse. So I called Children’s emergency and spoke to this miserable women explained my situation asked if I could speak to a nurse? Was put on hold then told there is no nurse that can help me and if I’m that worried bring him in!(If she is having a bad day stay home) Oh and that they are busy. No kidding your an emergency room. I was not impressed and next time I will trust Sharp Chula Vista. Through the years with my kids that’s our closest hospital they have always been great and caring! Bed side manner goes along way when your worried about your children specially a baby who is having a hard time breathing!!!
