I’m an American citizen who has lived in San Diego for the past 13 years. I have more than 10 years of experience in the taxi and transportation industry. I know the North County area (and greater San Diego) very well as not only the owner of Solana Beach Taxi, but also as a resident of Del Mar.

Failed to show after booking the night before and confirming that morning. If you need a taxi in RSF do not use it here guys if you need to get to your destination. Dispatcher friendly and offered to come pick me up but too late.

Horrible customer service. Had to talk to them several times to clarify the address. After arriving 30 mins late the driver Ron got lost and a trip that should have costed 25 $ was 40 $ complete bs. I get why everyone uses UBER. I’m done with Cabs.

I’m a repeat customer with Solana Beach taxi. Their service has consistently been friendly, professional, and timely. I use them for airport pick ups and drop off. Making reservations on line is easy and they follow up with a phone call, or text to confirm my pick up time.
The car is roomy, comfortable and clean.
The drivers are safe and somewhat fast.
They take credit cards as well as cash.
I will continue to use them because they are competively priced, respectful and responsible.

I’m not really sure why but my first review didn’t go through. I use this service all the time and can honestly say that of all the North County cabs available, this is the most reliable one to use. I notice at the very bottom of the page that there is a place to click for reviews from people that are not recommended. All of those reviews are also very very positive. I hear this from other businesses as well. Looks like if a business is not paying Unilocal for their services they aren’t willing to put up the positive feedback. This is an insult to me as a reviewer and as a consumer. So I’m interested to see where this goes. SOLANA BEACH taxi is the best service in North County San Diego. Thank you for always being there for me.

Impolite accusations from driver regarding online reservation.
My husband took a call 10 mins early from the taxi driver saying that he was at our *destination* and ready to pick us up. When he was told that he was at the wrong place, he accused us of making a mistake with the online booking. Thankfully he came to collect us from the right place. However, he proceeded to tell me once again that I’d made a mistake with the reservation.
Anyway, this accusation has bothered me all evening, so I got home and checked — the mistake was not mine but with the company.
Really not impressed, being greeted with ‘you made a mistake with the reservation’.
Still looking for a good taxi service.

I used this taxi service over Thanksgiving vacation. I called them at the last minute and got a great rate to the airport. The car was clean, driver didn’t smoke and he drove very safe. I had my 7 month old baby in the car and still felt very safe. I would recommend this service to anyone.

Worst ever! Do not use them for a ride to the airport! The guy who picked us up reeked of cheap cologne. We were rushing to the airport for a last minute flight. We were told the wrong time for the flight by out travel agent and when we realized we weren’t going to make it in time from Solana, we asked the driver to turn around and take us back home. He kept driving down the 5 until we yelled at him. Were you ignoring us or do you not speak English very well? We offered him $ 20 for his trouble (he took us all of 7 miles and part of that was his fault for not turning around sooner. Then he tried to get $ 30 from us. We both said «hell no.» Then he had the nerve to ask us when our next flight is so he can take us. Ummmm what part of you’re creepy and awful makes you think we’ll ever use your service again! Stay away!!! I called Swami Cab for our flight and guess what? They are Encinitas locals and they speak English. How refreshing!

Finding a good Taxi service can be a challenge. I am not a regular user of any taxi service, but this one is on the top of my list for now. I will update as I have more experience with them, but the first impression was a good one.
Car — very clean and operable
Driver — professional who engaged in the appropriate amount of small talk and did not chat on his cell phone. Safe and sane driving as well.
