My daughter is an optionals gymnast at the TRC South location in Sorrento Valley. She started here 4 months ago and we are very happy with the coaching staff– they are inspiring, motivating, and full of positive energy. The front office staff is professional, friendly and helpful. Their door is always open to answer questions. The parents and kids were all very friendly and welcoming from the beginning when we joined. We came from a gym where the recreational kids had priority over the equipment and occupied the majority of the space, along with Boys team. At TRC South the recreational kids finish 30 minutes after Girls team practice starts, allowing them to have full access to the equipment, which is wonderful! The gym is always clean and the parents viewing area upstairs has free WiFi and a open view of the gym– there are no glass windows. The only area we can’t see is the beam, but there are video monitors.
I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quality team program for your daughter!

Coach Ilea at TRC gymnastics is a wonderful coach, she has made such a positive difference in my granddaughter, she is a patient caring coach, and she is an expert at her job.

Decent gym except it smells like a locker room. Wish they can do something about the awful smell at the gym.

We had my son’s 4^th birthday party at TRC GYMNASTICS in Solana Beach. The staff ran a great party, with a perfect mix of organized activity (an obstacle course) and free play. What a wonderful way to expose the kids to gymnastics in a fun stress-​free setting.
The party — just like the one we had previously attended as party guests at TRC the month prior — went like this. We had the place to ourselves for 2 hours, with access 30 minutes ahead of time to set up. When the kids started to arrive the parents signed a quick waiver, everyone took off their shoes and we entered the facility for free play. There were two employees watching the kids, plus the parents. The kids basically played and explored — the vault, ropes and trampolines seemed to attract the most interest. Then the staff gathered the kids to do the obstacle course which was awesome. The kiddos followed directions and tumbled, crawled, swung and jumped their way around the route. After that we adjourned to the food room for some lunch and cake.
We took in Rubio’s and brought cake but pizzas and/​or homemade snacks would also work just as well. We also had another half-​hour of free play at the end of the party, including a fun jumpy they inflated for more jumparific fun.
We can’t comment from personal experience about the actual gymnastic programs, but we had a great experience with the place as a pre-​planned party venue. The Staff were all very sweet and great to work with.

My daughter was doing gymnastics at TRC for couple of months when she start saying that she didn’t want to go anymore, she didn’t like it, it was boring. I believe she said that because there are lots of kids in one class. Many times they are sitting until it is their turn.
So I decided to inform them that my daughter was not going to attend the next session. The lady was really nice I wanted to know what was going on. I explained to her and she said she was going to check and get back with me.
I went back couple of times to talk to her however she was always busy. She never got back with me. That is the problem with places where they have waiting lists and they don’t really care if they lose one child or two!

LOVE the small class sizes & positive instruction. Preschool classes are all about having fun while learning the basics. Instructors are USGA certified and really know their stuff — VERY important especially for the older kids. Safety, technique and quality instruction are paramount for the upper levels. Excellent all around gym for ages 2-​Adult. (I watched an adult class the other day and it looked AWESOME).

We have tried several gymanstics locations including the YMCA Ecke Gym and could not be more pleased with the service, staff and cleanliness of TRC in Solana Beach. They were organized, warm and welcoming as a gym should be when working with young kids.
Thank you TRC for your professional staff and warmth! My child cannot wait to go back and I feel so comfortable with the teacher. They worked hard, came out with rosey cheeks and had plenty of water breaks.

I’m only reviewing their Preschool Open Gym. You’d never know there’s a place like this in a business district, but it’s not bad. It’s $ 5 per child and $ 3 for crawlers for one hour to let your kid run around crazy in an enclosed area. The time there is mostly under your supervision, as they only have one staff overseeing things in the large 2 – 3,000 sq.ft. gym.
They have a bounce house, and some gym equipment to play with. Kids love the balance beams and inner tube thing. It’s not bad if you want to get out of the rain/​cold/​heat. A couple of things they could improve on (1) an area for the parents to sit besides on the floor (2) a changing area for diaper bound kiddies (3) safety (kids were playing with professional gymnastics equipment and some parts were laying around like springs).
One thing to keep in mind when coming here is it’s a professional gym where they train gymnasts to be athletes. So, watch your kids as much as possible. It’s not your Gymboree/​JW Tumbles/​My Gym where it’s truly only for kids. Also, bring snacks with you– they don’t have a snacks area like at the kiddy gyms, just two vending machines.
