Specialties
At Buttonwood Farm, we produce and purvey — using sustainable farming methods — 20 different wines as well as fruits, vegetables, flowers, and herbs, from our 106-acre farm in the center of the Santa Ynez Valley.
We strive to contribute to the accessibility of fresh, local foods and believe everyone should be able to afford a great bottle of wine on their table.
History
Established in 1963.
In 1963, our founder Betty Williams set out to create a working farm based on sustainable practices for people, animals and the earth. First there were horses and organic gardens, then more farm animals, a fruit and nut orchard, and finally, a vineyard and winery.
Betty understood the importance of preserving agricultural land and making time to gather together around the table. She worked for decades developing Buttonwood Farm so that every visitor could enjoy the land and leave with a special memory.
Today, Betty’s family carries on her vision, preserving the Buttonwood Farm experience and ensuring it remains sustainable for generations to come.
