Good pizza, friendly and professional service, fast delivery, thin but not too thick, tasty pizza. I look forward to seeing your establishment again.

Had a great sandwich with plenty of meat for a price $ 3 cheaper than I’m used to paying elsewhere in town… check it out when you get a chance!

Received a gift certificate as a gift and decided to come here with my brother on a Sunday night. Upon being seated, the waitress greeted us and stated that they were«crazy» and to just«bear with her», which I have no problem with and understand that pizza restaurants can get pretty hectic on a weekend. She probably didn’t even need to warm us because she was super sweet and the service was great from that point on. We had caesar salads to start, which were pretty good and had the dressing on the side. I prefer that because caesar salads can potentially get kind of soggy with too much dressing. My brother had Chicken Parm with spaghetti and I had Chicken Alla Rossa with a side of spinach rather then pasta. We both enjoyed our dinners, however, because my entrée was supposed to come over pasta, there was not that much chicken on my plate. No harm, no foul. My food was flavorful and I would come back to Sal’s for their entrees and friendly service, giving them a 3.5.

My co-worker and I ordered lunch and if there were an option of giving no stars, we would! The chicken noodle soup looked like someone scraped the bottom of the pot and served it. Greasy, brown in color, mushy noodles and tasteless.(Btw…chickenless!) not that I would want moe as I didn’t eat what they gave me, but the container on delivery was ¾ full! Grilled steak salad had unidentifiable minced meat. My low carb salad had grilled cold cuts, not of good quality. When I called to complain, I was told«I’ll let them know». No apologies or offers to rectify the problem or complaint. Don’t go there!

Green tinged pork roll sandwich! Waitress told me that she saw that it had molded but the cook told her to serve it anyway. Will never go back

Had many great meals at Sal’s this summer. Glad to report that the food was always tasty, the right temperature, and served with efficiency and a smile. Prices and portions were better than expected. Glad I found out about this restaurant. The only concern is that it is too popular !

TL;DR: don’t get the NY style slices — GETTHECOALFIREDPIZZAS passion seems lost — the margherita was fine on the cheese, but the basil was almost non existent. the coal fired oven was as good as you would think. the big pies done in the new york style were being hoovered down by locals as the ignored the beautiful flavor and tastes the coal fired pizza oven had. the NY style slices were the same you would find at sbarro, or any other national flavorless chain. But the coal fired ones? oh, so crispy, the crust was good, the slices were good, and if they threw some more passion into it, I think it could be awesome. and it’s the only reason I didn’t give this place a lower score. I’m coming back in a few weeks, I’ll wing through and give this another try, hopefully my review doesn’t go down.

I’ve been coming to sals since they opened. I’ve never had a bad meal, well unti last thurs. We ordered breakfast sandwiches. Very skimpy. Very little meat, cold & dried up home fries. I’get’ they were busy, so I WILL be back to try it again! Everyone is entitled to an off day. Bring back the olé sals that we had when you first opened!

My go to for takeout! Tonight…A culinary hate crime took place. Rib-eye ordered medium. I know its take out so I am forgiving about the temp but a Past well done, dry, tough piece of gristle, fat and sinew swimming in an industrial beef water. Accompanied by a Brown lettuce salad. Prices up, quality down. Sad!

The margarita coal fired pizza is amazing. Best pizza I have ever had. Hands down. I had a job photographing this restaurant and they made a pizza for the photos. When we finished they gave us the pizza. The rest is history. I live over an hour away and I frequently drive to Somers Point just to visit here. I’ve had lots of great pizza, all over Philadelphia and New York but this place beats them all. The place is clean, and the service is great. The photos that I took were for a Google Business View virtual tour. So if you want to see the inside of the restaurant, just search«Sal’s Café Somers Point» and then click the«see inside» link.

In the mood for some Monday soup and traveling near Sal’s so why not? Picked a slow time of day and although service was leisurely I felt welcome. When I heard lobster crab bisque I knew my choice! The orange broth in a very big bowl gave off an appealing scent and the flavor was wonderful. It was accompanied by wrapped saltine crackers. Ok, I would have enjoyed oyster crackers or bread. Never understood the appeal of plastic wrapped plain saltines. Blah The bisque had a great lobster bisque flavor but it needed more crab to keep me less crabby. Seriously … It was a good lunch break. I was satisfied with just the bisque(And the crackers.).

First time here, brought the family. Very happy with the whole experience. My wife had the margarita pizza and I tried the bruschetta pizza. My son had the cheeseburger, it was huge. My daughter got plain small pizza and my youngest just got a plain slice. The Margarita pizza was the best. The bruschetta pizza was good, but really could of used some balsamic vinager on it. Now for my only COMPLAINT. I would have given them 4 stars, but when my wife went to use the bathroom she came right back. Said that the bathrooms were disgusting. She refused to use them. Out of curiosity I went and checked the men’s room and they were okay. With that being said we would definitely come back again. They’re menu is huge, lots of choices.

Pretty decent prices and food. Dined in once service was okay. Have ordered take-out on several occasions, always ready in about 15 min. Have ordered everything from the pasta dishes to pizza, favorites would have to be the baked lasagna, stuffed shells and baked ziti.

I’ve ordered from this place a few time for my gf and and I. She normally gets wraps or basic non pasta entrees, were as I decided to give their pasta entrée(chicken florentine) a shot. It was bland and lifeless, the sauce was little to non existent, the chicken was surprisingly dry and flavorless. Now I’ve made meal before and ordered it from JoJo’s(pleasantville) and it was amazing. Thankfully the bacon burger my gf ordered and the mozzarella sticks were great. But how can you fail at that? Lesson learned, I’ll stick to JoJo’s or Joe and John’s. Oh, delivery was fast and earned every cent of that $ 10 tip.

I liked this place. I really do. It’s at the tail end of a strip mall, but clearly is made of 2 sections with the walls torn down between them. Deceptively large and very nicely decorated. The serving sizes are good and the service is fantastic. The pizza is good, as are the fries(nice and crispy). I love the hot sandwiches(pick one). I haven’t had their breakfast yet. However, last night, I had my first«blegh» experience with them. The service was excellent, as always, with a very attentive and friendly waiter. The soup was phenomenal… a beef & vegetable soup that tasted like grandma used to make. The entrée though… left much to be desired. I ordered the scampi calamari, figuring their decently-sized seafood menu meant they would be good at it. Apparently not. The scampi sauce was OK, and the noodles were the perfect doneness, but the calamari was like like eating rubber bands. Very chewy and had an off-putting flavor. This is NOT a bad place to eat. And I have no apprehensions about returning, I just won’t be ordering anything off of the seafood menu. If I had written this review prior to my visit last night, it would have been 4 stars.

I sought out Sal’s Coal Fired Pizza because I had just been handed $ 500 in cold hard Cash for winning Employee of the month, and was looking for a new place to have a memorable meal. Sal’s delivers for the most part. After briefly perusing the menu, I had difficulty finding a coal fired pizza that I was interested in. I spoke with the waitress who informed me that it was possible to order a small pizza and have it coal fired! Score! Naturally the carnivore in me needed meat, and I promptly ordered a small pepperoni and sausage pizza(coal fired, of course), The wife ordered a vegetarian Stromboli, citing that i’m eating enough meat for the both of us. The water we ordered was free, and was refilled often. The pizza arrived hot and gorgeous looking, The crust was thin, but not too thin that I couldn’t fold the pizza in half. Wife was making love to her rabbit food Stromboli. While Sal’s isn’t an upscale sort of coal fired pizza place, it will do just fine for a casual outing.

I’ve always believed that for pizza to be on a top list it has to be made special kind of oven. Driving past this restaurant the words«Coal Fired» drew me in. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and inviting. I ordered the Italian pizza, which is hot capicola, salami, sweet peppers, onions, and fresh mozzarella. The pizza was perfect in thickness– not too thin where it was crispy nor too thick, but just enough to absorb the distinct flavor of baking in a coal fired oven.

Absolutely great brick oven pizza. Bring a bottle of wine and share a spring mix salad for a perfect Friday night meal.
