What a sham. There is no retail site. He tells you that the retail site is off the Circle. It is NOT. Testimonial from Martha Stewart? She gave him an autograph, NOT an endorsement. SHAM, all of it.

I was looking for a florist for our wedding, and came across Anthony Delareto Events/Somers Point Florist. The web site was really impressive, and like the previous reviewer mentioned, the fact that they received a nod from Martha Stewart was a big draw. I completed the form on their web site to have someone contact me to schedule an appointment. Two weeks later, I hadn’t heard back from anyone. So, one day when we were on our way home from Ocean City, we decided to just drop in to their shop. They were in the process of unpacking from their move to this new location across from The Crab Trap. Even though they were busy, they took the time to chat with my fiancée and I, and explained that with the move, they were having issues with their email and didn’t receive my appointment request. We set up a date to come back and go over everything in detail. Anthony said he would email so form for me to complete prior to our appointment so they would have an idea of what we were looking for before we met again. It took a week after that visit before I called and said I never received the form. When I finally got the form, it was a lengthy spreadsheet that I was told that needed to be emailed back. I don’t know what was the issue, but the spreadsheet I sent didn’t open properly on their end, despite the fact that I redid it and sent it over on three separate occasions. I also attempted to print it out and fax it to them, which they claim they never received. After all this(where I was made to feel like I was a complete fool by Anthony’s assistant, Karen), they called to cancel our appointment an hour before our scheduled time. Needless to say, I had no desire to reschedule and will be looking elsewhere for our wedding florist.

I pulled Somers Point Florist randomly from the list of recommended vendors provided by my wedding location. I visited the web site. I laughed about how it is set up dramatically to look like a summer blockbuster trailer. Then I called to set up an appointment because one of his testimonials was written by Martha Stewart, and I am a sucker for some Martha. When I met Anthony Delareto(owner of Somers Point Florist), I was immediately put at ease. He was friendly, familiar with my venue, asked lots of questions about the structure of my wedding, and entertained me with some hilarious stories of Bridezillas past. In short, I felt like I was dishing with my best girlfriend. Since I had a color in mind but no specific flower preferences, Anthony made several suggestions. There were lots of sample arrangements around the store, I had seen more on his website, and c’mon: MARTHA. Overwhelmed by options and determined not to become the source of another one of his ‘Zilla stories, I told him, «Whatever you want to do, I’m okay with. I trust you.» A few days later, I was emailed an estimate for what we had discussed(um, which I promptly forwarded to the person who’d be writing the check… thanks Mom!), but was still a little unsure about what I’d actually be getting. In fact, it wasn’t until a week or so before the wedding when Anthony called me to discuss delivery time that I asked him what his plan was. Someone a little more detail-oriented might have found this a little unnerving, but I’m letting Anthony keep all 5 of his stars for the following reason: Stunning, tasteful, elegant arrangements. I think I would only have been less satisfied had I offered more direction because everything Anthony created was just perfect, from my gorgeous bouquet and swank centerpieces to the additional arrangements used to flank our ceremony space and decorate the place card and display tables. Somers Point Florist is a definite must if you are planning any kind of event in the Jersey shore area.
