Somerset Pool & Fitness Club

This is a small fitness club and pool attached to a no-​name motel. On one hand there is plenty of parking, its easy to get to and has decent hour. The staff is also very nice. As far as indoor pools go, its large, well maintained and not a bad place for exercise, swim lessons, parties etc.
However the downsides are numerous.
Its old. Dingy. Gross. Sad to say, but the ceiling tiles are acoustic style and most have water damage, in the gym area, many are missing. There is a mild smell of mildew– if you are sensitive watch out! The gym portion is small and worn. It has a few cardio machines– a few old stair machines, treadmills, some elipticals, bikes and a rowing machine, but it is small. The weights are similar. There is a machine for most muscle groups, but they are older, worn and ragged. For the cost there are brand new gyms just as close by.
I am sure due to lease and cost issues they do’t seem to be investing into the upkeep and equipment. They do have a sister site in Hillsborough and it is very nice and has none of the shortcomings. So I figure its a lack of resources and capital costs to upgrade that keep this place from shining.
