The Imperia on Easton

The maitre d was the worst. She didn’t communicate well with the bridal party or even the servers. They were getting yelled at in front of us. She gave a big attitude even the servers looked like they didn’t want to be there. Worst of all, the bride and the groom paid per plate. A couple came late and told they weren’t allowed to be served because the chef left BUT we just got our food? I went to the kitchen and Bernard came out with two plates for them even though the managers and the maitre d said no. That was good customer service Bernard!

Attended a large wedding there last night. Let me start with some of the positives;
Pulling into the event the parking was well signed and the valet staff was very good. Getting many cars parked and out of the traffic on a very busy road.
Upon entering the facility there was a staff that directed you to your event and the coat check. The facility was well appointed and looked nice. Our food at the cocktail hour was very good and the staff during this part of the event was excellent. They even had a single malt scotch available at the open bar.
Upon entering the main hall it was obvious that the number of people was going to be a challenge. Tables that should have seated 10 were set for 12. There wasn’t enough room to get your food to your mouth, you were jammed in so tight. Sadly, the event started at 7:30 and by the time we got our main course, it was 11 PM. Even Europeans don’t eat their main course at that hour. Part of the issue here was that the efficiency of the wait staff was so poor. Very young inexperienced waiters who were given a very challenging job. Serving three different entrees from the same platter, over guests heads, did not go well. The food was cold by the time we got it and there were several occasions where there were spills on the way to the plate. Unfortunately we had to leave before the last courses.

Was there for a corporate event… appetizers were good but the chicken tasted like crap. KFC had better chicken.

We fell in love with the venue when we walked in and saw the staircase and then we fell in love again when we walked out onto the Majestica patio. We never wanted an outside wedding until we walked outside and saw that patio! The rooms were amazing and the layout for the majestica room was perfect and private.
We originally had Stephanie helping us and she was amazing to work with. She moved up to corporate and then we had Jaci and Phil working with us on our wedding and both were so nice and helpful. They worked with us on pricing and fit an amazing reception into our budget and Phil even threw in the ice cream sundae bar which made my husband THRILLED!!! Phil really is the best asset the Imperia has he was awesome! They set up all the items we made and all the things we did for our day. They set up tables for our baskets of blankets for the ceremony along with hot chocolate station, they set up all the signs we made to put around. They made sure all the details we dropped off were out and set up perfectly! I mean we dropped off a ton (more than 500!) of votive candles to line outside and inside and they set them all up and lite them all for us and made sure they all looked great! It was a ridiculous amount of candles and they didn’t bat an eye!
They helped walk us thru every step and were so helpful responding to all my pain in the butt emails I sent! They set us up with great vendors, and the centerpieces are included in the cost of the venue and the choices were still beautiful!!!
Our Maitre D Maureen was so awesome and wonderful! Daisy our personal waitress was so attentive and made sure she was always floating around us to get us another drink, bring our food when we sat, I didn’t even realize all the times she was following behind me carrying my train!!!
The food was so amazing and tasted so good! All of our guests and family couldn’t believe how much food there was! Plus everyone LOVED the he-​man station, including my husband! It was so unique and different to have comfort type foods along with the more exotic options! The cocktail hour was so abundant that most of our guests thought it was the actual dinner! Then getting to choose table side for your entrée was sooo nice and added a bit of elegance to the night! Plus saved us from having to get everyones orders ahead of time and risk changing their mind that night. The wait staff was so attentive folding napkins when guests got up to dance. Always removing plates and even at cocktail hour they were removing plates and cleaning up spills. The whole venue was so attentive and making sure all of our guests were comfortable and taken care of! I just really cannot tell you how amazing and perfect our night was because of Phil and his staff at the Imperia! They made us feel like their only event and all the food and set up was amazing! Really the BEST VENUE out there we could not have asked for anything more perfect than the Imperia on Easton! Thank you Imperia for making our night PERFECT!!!

I went here for my cousins wedding, and I gave the Imperia a 2 star rating for these reason:
the GOOD part: The cocktail hour food was good. Lots of different dishes that were being past around that tasted good.
The entrance room is large and beautiful.
The reception room looked nice as well, But that was about it.
the BAD part:
Entrance and ceremony.
–When entering the venue the champagne drinks were not offered when guest enterred the venue until after standing there for 15 mins. (not a big thing but it’ll add up)
–in the Ceremony room, on the back of the chairs had buttons. a lof of the buttons were missing.
— the ceremony started and everyone wasnt even in the room sitting yet.
Cocktail
the only thing was leaving the cocktail. They flickerred the lights a little bit, which I noticed so I figure it was time to go into the reception. But I dont think anyone else did, so I asked a woman who was actually in charge of the wedding if cocktail hour was over and should we go into the reception, rudely she said yes and go into the reception room and I said I dont think anyone else knows that cocktail hour is over because there still sitting and eating, she said she’ll get them into the reception and dimissed me.
Reception
–the salad/​stuffed mushroom w/​cheese were out on the tables already when entering. the mozzarella cheese was already hardened because I’m assuming the plates were sitting there for a while. I also noticed when walking in that the plates seemed tossed onto the tables because the food was not centered but slid to a lot of the edges of the plate with the sauce designed smeared on the plate.
— When the bridal party entered, instead of coming from behind a door or curtain you saw them just stand in a line and then wait for their name to be called
–as for the bride and groom, they also stood there and you can see them before they were fully introduced. (I’ve been to a lot of wedding, and normally they get announced and the door opens and you cheer, not stare at them waiting for the dj’s speach to be over and then just have them walk in)
— When finally during the venetian dessert hour, they ran out of fruits and marshmellos in the first 20 mins for the fondue section and never refilled it.
–everyone was served caked and our table wasnt so I had to ask for cake for our whole table, which still everyone was not given a piece.
–they came by and asked my fiancé and cousin for cofee, they said no, but before I can answer the server walked away and never came back.
–I had to ask for coffee for my parents table and for my table.
–they still didnt serve it, that I got up myself and served everyone their coffee.
I would def not reccomend this venue.

I attended a wedding there over the weekend. Although the facility was pretty. The service was awful. There were few too many servers during the cocktail hour and the line for the bars was 8 people deep at all times. Our server, at dinner, dropped food on both myself and another quest. The food was very average, at best. And to top it all off, the whole evening was very disorganized. We had finished our meal and some tables had yet to be served.

First, let me start by saying that Imperia is a beautiful wedding venue. They have options for outside wedding/​cocktail hours and great selection of the different ballroom/​halls — this place is well maintained, clean and very fancy… so why just 2 starts? I recently attended a wedding here which I was closely involved in as well. Everything started well but quickly turned in to very messy: the waiting staff was never around, nobody was cleaning up after the guests, minor request were met with rude comments from the Imperia staff — given it was a large wedding (500+ people) but that is no excuse for not meeting your standards. So what started as me being impressed with the look of it was met with the let down by the staff that worked the wedding I was part of – I would advise folks to double/​triple check before booking them.

I recently had my wedding at The Imperia, and it was more than perfect. Phil, the General Manager, was so helpful. He made sure Ashley, my future wife, and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. The food was great. All of our guests complimented on the cocktail hour spread, and the main entrees. The staff was very pleasant, and our Maître d made sure our drinks were always full, and everything happened on schedule. The staircase in the entrance is beautiful, and made for some great pictures. Phil’s assistant Jackie was very helpful coordinating with our outside vendors. The whole experience was very pleasant, and I would recommend The Imperia to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

Bringing you the best in a local wedding venue, the Imperia is quite impressive and maintains a sophisticated style in it’s design.
I attended a job fair here and was able to look around to see what they had to offer. The inside certainly had elegance and a fine touch of design, certainly the best I’ve seen in the central Jersey area. After being at 5 weddings in 2013, I guess one begins to notice these sort of attributes.
Wait staff was small, but the few members they did have working the event were very polite and attentive to the needs of the guests. I certainly would like to see this place again in the warmer weather as many of the photos they displayed in the lobby area made it appear breathtaking.

This monstrosity was built where the old McAteer’s was. It houses 3 halls where McAteer’s only had one. This establishment doesn’t care about the community it is built around. They make so much noise and disrupt hard working families’ lives every weekend without ever caring to change. They hold outdoor weddings with horses, DJs and drums as early as 8am on weekends while your children are sleeping. Then at night, they are like a dance club with bass thumping right through the neighborhood until well past midnight. The owner doesn’t care. The manager doesn’t care. Police are called to their establishment all the time and they don’t care. All they care about is booking events that have a terrible impact on hard working families in the neighborhood. I miss McAteer’s and the respect they had for our community. The Imperia’s ownership should be ashamed of themselves.

Attended a wedding reception at this location in June. From the outside it looks like nothing special but inside it is very pretty. The venue is set up very uniquely. The wedding reception was on a Sunday at 5pm to 10pm. You pull in and there is mandatory valet parking. (Don’t worry you can get something out of the car or switch shoes if you need to one it is parked.)You are led into the building where you are served champagne and urged to go downstairs. Downstairs there is a reception type room and a separate hang out room for the party hosts or bride and groom along with bathrooms. Everything is neat and clean. The Hors d’oeuvres we’re delicious pockets of tempting flavors. They served/​passed these by waiter service. They had a table with cheeses, veggies and fruit & bread as well. There was plenty to eat but because nothing is labeled you have no idea what you were trying. A little folded name card on the tray would do wonders in that regard. There is a bar table set up there for that room. Also there was an outdoor walkway to another gathering place outside with better food and shaded congregating space. Most did not know about this till it was time to go into the main wedding venue room. A shame because a lot of food did not get eaten because people didn’t realize. Plus there was another bar out here as well. There should be signs like «the blah blah party can proceed to the x patio for further refreshments.» The food there should be labeled as well. There were specialty stations like the mashed potato bar and a Mexican bar. There was meat carving. It was a beautiful patio setting too with brick and plants. There was no one telling guests where to go… maybe just relaying to the wedding party because they seemed to know. The wedding reception began when the doors were opened to the main area just beyond the patio. It is an elegant and exquisite space decorated in soft colors and flowers. There are round tables surrounding a dance floor. There is a long bridal table along the front of the dance floor. The food comes and keeps coming for the sit down dinner. The food was better during cocktail hour but was still tasty. The problem is that the waiters rush you terribly. If you get up to go to the bathroom they take your plate even when you haven’t eaten a bite. We had to leave someone to stand guard. Literally. There are many courses. There was also an ice cream bar. Again, you had to protect your salad, entrée, cake. If you chatted, danced or mingled you lost a portion. The end of the event was precisely 10pm. The staff took the linens, stripped the tables, and undid everything with guests there. They should either charge the hosts for an extra hour if it takes that to clean up or shuffle lingerers into a smaller room to clean the big one. There is nowhere for guests to go upstairs since the valet gets inundated at the party’s end anyhow. All in all it is a beautiful place inside and a wonderful setting. If they fixed the items I mentioned earlier, (and it would take little effort), they would be FIVE star but they are not here yet. If they do people will be singing their name from rooftops.

I was here recently for a rainy day wedding. So everything took pace downstairs in the basement.
Food at cocktail hour was ok I’d give it three and a half stars. The dinner was excellent, and I like the presentation.
The interior and furnishings are elegant and I liked the décor. You could see they put some money into it and it was holding up nicely.
I didn’t like however how a lot of the staff was so clueless. Getting information about where things were taking place, and who was attending to what was almost impossible.

Had our company party here. Can’t say enough good things about Arlene and her staff, we loved it and will be back next year. Food was amazing and décor was perfect for an upscale event.

I attended an evening wedding reception at this venue. The ambiance is gorgeous. We were in a huge room on the lower level. It was very cold this evening and the staff kept opening the door to go outside and letting in tons of cold air. Not sure what they were doing out there. My only other complaint is how they served the food. The soup was literally COLD. Not even luke warm. The main course is served by staff who place the meat on your plate then place a potato on your plate and finally some carrots or other vegetable. That’s a lot of bending over each person. Would have been much easier to have prepared plates and just serving guests in that manner. Probably wouldn’t use this venue for a festive occasion. Still find the Pines in Edison to be #1 for me.

If I could give them a half a star I would! I was there for a reunion last night and I spent $ 90 on my ticket so I was expecting food. But when I showed up there was a sub par cheese platter, about four chafing dishes of fried food that was indistinguishable and flavorless. Then we were offered an ice cream «bar» and a slice of cheese cake. I had the ice cream honestly you can buy better ice cream at the supermarket. The venue was nice but there was no one there to tell me which ballroom I had to go into so I could have easily walked into someones wedding instead of my reunion. The bathrooms were nice but I would rather have an okay bathroom and good food then a really nice bathroom and crap food. I would not recommend anyone to have an event here — which is disappointing as at my age friends are getting married and having showers and parties and were always looking for different venue’s. I now know I can cross the Imperia off the list.

I did not care for the imperia. i came for a wedding a few weeks ago and yes the place is nice, and the valet parking is wonderful and what not but i feel there is an issue with the management. they were scolding the servers in plainsight of the guests. all the servers were doing was standing around against the walls. there was no need for them to be there the entire time. The maitre’d’s also seemed quite confused most of the time and disorganized and i do not know why there was more than one for just one event. but all in all, the waitstaff and bartenders were very nice and accommodating and professional. the wedding was lovely as a whole but i would probably try to find another venue for my own wedding.

I came here as part of a bridal party this past long weekend. So I can actually tell you how things went.
Setting: The grounds were quite nice. The backyard where the actual wedding ceremony took place was warm (both literally and figuratively) and large umbrellas provided guests with some amount of protection from the beat down of the sun. The lobby made a nice setting for photos. And the entrance area for the cars had good size and shape to get transport taken cared of.
Staff: The wait staff was pleasantly professional and politely accommodating to the crowd, which was a surprise given much of the wait staff appeared young in years. Arlene, who I gather is the boss lady, did her best to keep the ship running in tiptop shape, but I wish another solution/​person carried my cousin’s train down the aisle. (Picture this: as my slender cousin walked most beautifully down the aisle, a frosted-​tipped?, short-​haired, shiny sunglass-​wearing woman of no relation to the bride or groom, carried the bride’s train.)
General: I would have given this location a 4 of 5 stars because the location was definitely a solid choice, plus the catering that came with the location was better than expected (although I had low expectations). In particular I was actually served rare steak upon request of a rare steak. –But I didn’t because they planned weddings back to back in a way that did not provide enough buffer time in between weddings and as our wedding party and guests were leaving, the next guests were already in the lobby being to settle in.

I came here for a wedding so I’m not 100% sure which services are provided in-​house or contracted out.
Valet parking was available and the lot was huge. The venue is beautiful and quite spacious, with several floors and plush bathrooms. There were several bars — the one bartender who served us mis-​prepared a drink. The buffet dinner tasted great and looked fresh. All the staff I encountered were friendly. It’s a perfect spot for a wedding and I can also see other formal events (galas, proms) being held here.
