6 months ago i tried to purchase my first home. I made an offer on a listing and one of century 21’s agent was the representative. They made the house seem like a great find but pushed me not to inspect the house too much. After a pest control agent came in, it turned out the whole house was infested with termites.
Since then they have refused to return my calls and reimburse my down payment and ive gotten the impression they have intentionally not notified new potential buyers of the infestation at the property just so they can sell it and make a buck.
Highly unprofessional people, if you want people to be honest and forthcoming, do not go with these guys.

My partner and I were referred to C21 Commonwealth, more specifically Dara Singleton by two close friends who had worked with her the year prior. It is important to underscore that this was our first home, and we knew very little about the process, the market, and the entire insanity that is purchasing property. Dara took the time to answer all of our questions, and provide her subtle suggestions — but never imposed her opinions on us. (Though sometimes, we were looking for a kick in the pants! She always had US make the decisions… which, ultimately, was the best way for us to do this.)
Dara always responded to her texts and emails quickly, as well as made herself available to join us at open houses (If she didn’t already have an appointment). She really is the epitome of what a great agent should be. It’s easy to become a licensed agent, but it is not easy to be a great one… and Dara is one of the few greats!
In all honesty, Dara was a dream. She helped us navigate the crazy market we are in today, find the perfect Condo for us, make an offer, find our laywer and lender– and to top it all off she’s a phenomenal person and new-​found friend! I cant say enough good things about her and her work with C21.

I recently bought a condo in Somerville and had Michael Albiani as my realtor. He collected my criteria, helped me narrow down a good subset to look at from the initial list of 50ish properties, then offered great insights to help me make the final decision between two condos (but without being pushy at all).
He explained the process from offer, home inspection, purchase & sale, mortgage commitment, and closing and has been very helpful throughout all of it, especially with dealing with my very difficult lender (FYI: don’t use Pentagon Federal Credit Union). He responds quickly to emails and phone calls and is always very respectful. He also had good recommendations for a home inspector and lawyer (for the P&S), since the lawyer my lender insisted on for closing wouldn’t cover anything else.
I also recommend Dara Singleton – friends have used her as an agent for buying their houses or condos and they speak very highly of her.
The office is also close to Davis Square and has a parking lot (if you wish to drive in).

This office is absolutely mediocre. Our agent was totally unhelpful during our rental process. My roommate and I had a couple VERY reasonable questions regarding our lease, which were met (when they were actually answered — phone calls went ignored) with responses that made it clear we were wasting her time. After paying their $ 600 fee, I would have expected that they would DO something for us, but I guess they just can’t be bothered to offer an ounce of customer service. Do your best to stay away!

It’s all in the agent baby. I happened upon Ann Kirby because she was the listing broker for the first property I was interested in. The place wasn’t for me, but I immediately liked Ann and contracted her to be my buyer’s agent right then and there. Over the next month, she worked hard to find places to show me and very quickly picked up on the style of condo I was looking for and would even say «no, jane, that place isn’t ‘you’» when I would suggest listings to her.
I had a pretty specific type of condo in mind: triple-​decker, top floor, pre-​reno. She found me the *perfect* place in Cambridge and was with me every step of the long (5 f’n months) and *tortured* process to acquire it. And I do mean *tortured*. Hell, I’d be surprised if she didn’t take a couple months off work after this particular deal. It was horrible because of the sellers and their less than honest brokers and Ann was there, fighting for me in innumerable ways. Beyond all that, she patiently explained all the ins and outs of the deal, the contracts, the time lines, etc etc, and gave great counsel on the ethics of each step. I can’t count the number of times she told me «this is ethical, this is NOT» over this deal. You know you’ve got a good agent when they’re telling you ethical concerns, not just all about the money.
And even more, she had great recommendations for home inspectors and attorneys; both of which I have subsequently recommended to friends who have then recommended to more friends. Bottom line, Ann rocks. And looking through reviews of other real estate agents, that seems to be a rarity. Others have said it but I’ll rephrase it «if you get the oogies from an agent, get another one!» This is the biggest investment you’re going to make, make sure you know what you’re doing; and if you don’t, get an agent who does!
