Distinct Beer & Wine

This beer and wine store is located within Shaw’s/Star (whatever they are calling themselves this week) on McGrath Highway — across from Sav-​Mor. (Please remember that this miniscule convenience is located across the street from a full fledged liquor store.)
One weekend, I found a lovely roast at Shaw’s/Star and decided we should have a nice burgundy/​cheap ass and delightful red wine with the meal. Headed into Distinct Beer & Wine, located outside the produce department, found something cheap and tasty. Brought the vino to the counter and was ID’d. Which is fine, since I’m 43 but don’t look a day younger than 67. Fine, no worries, protect your license. Understood.
What I didn’t understand was why he overcharged by $ 2 on the bottle. I pointed this out and the cashier wanted to argue with me. When I told him to forget about it and began to leave, he suddenly rang it up at the correct price. Hmm.
On a different occasion, my husband went into Di-​Stink to pick up some pints. He was followed around the tiny space, eyed up and down by staff, felt weirded out, then left. The creepy cashier followed him out of the store and harassed him about not buying anything. My husband explained that the shop didn’t carry Foster’s oil cans (for me! Can I tell you how much I love him?!). The Distinct clerk informed my husband that Foster’s no longer made oil cans. How cute!
So, The Man just went to Albert’s on the way home and everyone was happy. THE END. :)
