I’ve been a member at Durbrow Performance for about 2 years. It’s the only gym I’ve been a member of for this long and by far the best place I’ve ever worked out. They’re focused on small group, high intensity weight training. The trainers are not only knowledgeable, but also really know and care about each person they work with. They are able to tailor weights to each individual’s level of fitness, are able to adapt moves for any specific injury and push you to exceed your expectations. I can’t recommend this gym enough! It’s cross fit-ish, but much more individualized and personal. The actual gym is pretty no-frills; if you’re looking for eucalyptus scented towels this isn’t your place. BUT if you’re looking for a killer workout with trainers who know your name, care about you doing your best and push you to achieve results you didn’t even think were possible, check it out!

A while back Callie said to me, «You’d run through that wall if I told you to, wouldn’t you?» Funny? Yes — but also quite true. I like to push myself hard, and I’m more than a little bit of an adrenaline junky. When I do something, I do it 100%. Unfortunately, that also means I can overdo it, which can easily lead to injury. In the past I’ve broken bones and damaged joints all because I’ve pushed too hard. So when Callie said this to me, I realized I was in great hands: rather than encourage me to be a madman and destroy my body, Callie has her eye on my long term health, and knows how powerful even the offhand comment can be, which is something she takes very seriously. As a client, therefore, I feel well coached and taken care of, in a truly holistic manner. You can see this in everything from the way she and the other trainers structure the workouts, to the nutrition programs she runs, to the way she chooses her staff. Callie is a pro, and she gets results — if you’re willing to put in the work. Check her out!
