Mercedes-Benz of Boston

After a bad experience at a Mercedes dealer in Connecticut, I was leery of car dealerships, but I decided to pay a visit to Mercedes Benz of Boston for two reasons; it is near my office, and their website showed several cars that interested me. When I came through the door, I was greeted by Georgina. I told her what I was interested in. She took me to her office and printed out the specs on the three cars I’d identified. Then she explained the differences among the three. This took about fifteen minutes. Then we went to the garage to look at the cars. I immediately ruled out one of them. She said, lets test drive one of the others. We did. She encouraged me to take the car out on the highway so I could tell if I really liked it. I did and was glad I did. The car was terrific. On returning, she went through some of the features of the car. I said I liked it a lot. We went back to her office. The deal was struck in another fifteen minutes. There were no questions or strong arm tactics when I said I had financing from my own bank (so unlike my previous experience at New Country Motor Cars in Hartford). The upshot is that I have a beautiful new car, thanks to Georgina, who is knowledgeable, smart, efficient, funny, honest and nice. The last two are the most important. I trust her. So, Mr. Herb Chambers, you need to hang on to this really stellar sales person, who knows her stuff and loves what she does. When I trade in my C300, it will be Georgina I will go to.

Dennis St. Aubin is a real stand up guy with true character! I came into the dealership with this already preconceived notion that I would probably be treated differently because I am a woman and a woman of color. With that being said, Dennis was highly professional, polite, personable and treated me with the utmost respect and dignity! He carefully and patiently went over all my options of purchasing a new car. Although I did not purchase a new car at that moment, I remember the wonderful experience I had at the dealership because of him! I visit often whenever I have questions and to also simply say hello to Dennis! Whenever I’m ready to buy a new car, Dennis, without a doubt will be the first person I go to!

Chip is awesome. He is patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable in his industry. I went in looking to buy an ML350 with my parents and he was extremely helpful throughout the process. I am currently driving a C300 which I bought from a different dealership but Chip scheduled time for me to come in to answer any questions I had about the c300 since I switched my cars not too long ago. If you are looking to buy a car, Chip is your guy!

Dennis Saint Aubin helped me out while I was just starting my search for cars. He was extremely helpful and I didn’t feel any pressure at all! As a girl, most salesguys at dealerships make me feel uncomfortable w a lot of pressure and only care about the sale– Dennis answered all my questioned and did everything he could to help me out, all very friendly and helpful!

DON’T GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. They are a bunch of pompous snots! You walk in and nobody even cares to greet you or ask you how they can help. I went with my wife today and spent 20 minutes looking around and checking out display cars without a single staff member even asking if they can help. Then I approached the reception myself, where 3 staff members were standing not too busy. One turned around and said «Hi, we are short staffed today, please give me sometime to get someone for you» while the other 2 guys were sitting behind the desk staring at the ceiling!
15 minutes later we walked out of there. Too bad for them because we had done our research and we were ready to close the deal on a 2016 SUV on their inventory that we had short-​listed prior to our visit. We will never set foot in this lousy place again!
I’ve bought a few luxury cars over the years and I’ve never seem such terrible service. Got to ANY other dealership and you will be served better.

My salesman, Denis Saint Aubin, went above and beyond what any salesperson has ever done for me. He was keeping in touch on his days off; he was just the consummate professional and an excellent asset to the organization.

Crème dela crème of Mercedes dealerships/​service centers. Always straight and to the point when I take my car in for service. Great waiting room with wifi if you’re going to wait while they service your car. Had a great experience working with Dennis Saint-​Aubin as my sales rep. This man is a shining lighthouse among what can be a sometimes murky world of car sales reps. Would absolutely recommend Mercedes of Boston and of course, my sales rep (who I’m pretty sure knows everything there is to know about Mercedes!) Dennis.

A great relationship never starts amazingly well…
When my g/​f and I first visited MB of Boston, yes, we were impressed with how congenial and polite everyone were, and how spotless a showcase the building is, but what truly did not occur to us is how far Dennis Saint Aubin was going to take this amazing relationship.
I must admit, when I first met him, I was not overwhelmed by the guy. Yes, he was pleasant, yes, he was nice, but, to me, he was just a good representative of a good company, nothing more. The real (pleasant) shock was yet to come.
We’ve owned the car for a little under a year, and, since that time, EVERY single time we’re in a dealership, Dennis is glad to see us.
As far as I’m concerned, a job of a salesman ends once the car is sold, yet (and I’m proud to say that he’s become) MY GOOD FRIEND Dennis is always there to inquire about the kids, to ensure that everything is copacetic. Whether it’s a service, or a damaged bumper repair, MY salesman Dennis goes out the extra mile to ensure that our relationship extends far beyond «Hey, thanks for spending that cash!»
I’ve never, ever imagined that I’d find a good friend in a car salesman. (Isn’t that like meeting an honest attorney?)
Now, every time someone even mentions thinking about changing cars, my only response is «Go talk to Dennis. Whether he has what you’re looking for or not, you’ll be glad you met him»

After working really hard for a long time, I was able to buy my first amazing car. I was trading up from a 2009 CR-​V, so this was a big deal for me. It’s not everyday I get to buy a Mercedes!
Unfortunately, my excitement was not matched by most places I visited. I went to multiple new and used auto lots, only to be given the keys to a car I knew nothing about and sent out on a test drive by myself. In one situation, I couldn’t even figure out how to start the car as the salesperson helped someone who came in long after me. In another, I could not figure out the GPS and ended up lost on the test drive, using my phone to get me back. Needless to say, I was shocked that nobody took the time to explain a single feature on a luxury car before giving me the keys and just sending me on my way. This happened a few times.
Then I went to Mercedes Benz of Boston. The dealership was a step above from the minute I walked in. I was assigned a sales person to stay with me from beginning to end. That salesperson was Alex Fine. At first, I was looking at an ML. He pointed out every single feature and we went though the whole thing. I really liked it and came one signature away from buying it. At the last possible second, after keeping him an hour late on a Sunday, I decided not to. He was patient and as nice as could be. His kindness was not forgotten.
A month later, after endless research and above mentioned frustration, when I was ready to buy I went to see Alex. I had decided to go in an entirely different direction and look at buying a 2013 C300 instead of leasing a new ML. By some miracle, the perfect car just happened to have come in. (I am very picky about color/​feature combinations) Alex went through the whole thing (unfazed by my complete 180 in preferences) and made me really comfortable with my purchase. It became exciting rather than daunting. He was sincere, helpful, low pressure, knowledgable, and patient. I would recommend him to anyone and am grateful to him every time I drive my beautiful car that I would not have without his knowledge and low-​pressure persistence.
My experience with their service department has also been exceptional.

They gave me a loaner while a defect was being repaired on my relatively new car. I live in Boston where we parallel park a lot. Upon returning the car, they told me I scratched the rim of one of the wheels and they are deducting $ 125 although the usual cost is $ 175. Another rim was already scratched, so I don’t even believe they are going to fix this one. The valets are very nice, but everyone else in this place seems like they should be selling used Kias.

Georgina definitely breaks the mold when it comes to car sales. While maintaining her professionalism, she is warm and friendly and most importantly, listens to your needs. From the minute you sit down with her to the moment you say goodbye, you are positively overwhelmed with attentiveness and true customer service. She listened to my needs and questions and showed genuine concern. She also went far and beyond to try and work the best case scenario for me and followed up throughout the process until it was time to make a decision. Not to mention that she is very knowledgeable so the interaction with her was a treat :) It goes without saying that I highly recommend Georgina if you’re in the market for a new car!

The only reason I’m actually giving a star at all is because of Meeghan, the service manager was SUPER, nothing short of amazing, she provided me solutions and she was patient and very understanding, even given the fact I was already a little angry.
I dropped my car off with them only because I got a flat tire so close to their location, against my better judgment I thought what’s the worse it could happen, boy was I wrong.
My service guy, Chris, at first was very nice. Until I got a call from him saying «Hey so it turn out that your wheels are bent, or whatever word he used, but don’t worry your tire and wheel protection has ALREADY OKAYD that to be fixed and straightened, now in regards to your tire (ACTUAL REASON WHY I WAS THERE) they can not cover it because the tire depth in below what they cover, (mind you the tire was not below it, I measured all threads after I picked up the car). And, he proceeded, we suggest you replace the other front tire as well, so your total is gonna be $ 1,000»
Oh boy how I laughed ! theres no way I paid so much money for a warranty and I’m gonna pay $ 1000 to replace a tire on a car that’s 4 months old.
After much discussion, Chris called me back and said «Hey so we can replace the front right tire for you (THATS BOT EVEN THE TIRE THAT WAS FLAT !!!) but, he proceeded the tire that isn’t actually holding air we will not be able to replace, and also because of that WE CAN NOT STRAIGHTEN THE WHEELS, so your total today is gonna be $ 500»
WHATTTTT IS GOING ON ?!
Now believe me I was fed up, he’s just trying to suck money out of me any way he can. So I made a few phone calls to people I knew, and I had my car brought to another Mercedes dealer I trusted, anD GUESS WHAT? BAM. Wheels straightened and tire replaced under warranty, no problem no questions asked, they cleaned my car and even added a little gas for me.
Now that’s customer service !
Again I wanna thank Meeghan for her hard work and attention, she’s the reason I’m not sharing my story on The BBB.

My wife and I have to go to this dealership for service (since it’s about 2 miles from our house) and bought one car there previously but will try to avoid it for any future sales. I just don’t understand how Mercedes puts up with this dealership. First, it is literally next to a dump, jammed into a tiny building that is about as hard to drive into as possible. Next, most of the sales people are clueless about their product — we certainly knew more about the cars than they did on each occasion (with the exception of one sales person, a very classy African American gentleman). Their service department is horrendous — especially for a high end car company. I’ve had Lexuses and BMWs during the time my wife has had her MB and can say that every service engagement I’ve had with these other dealerships is about 1000% better than any experience we’ve had at Mercedes-​Benz of Boston. There is a young woman working in the service dept who is awesome, giving you timely updates on your service appt, status of the repair, etc. However, the rest of them are pretty bad — basically all seem like they just don’t give a care about the customer. Simple things like forgetting to call us to tell us an ordered part had come in or more complex things like delivering a car with two new keyless entry keys that don’t work.
The only redeeming quality is that they have decent loaner cars that we’ve been able to get whenever our repairs require overnight stays. Other than that, I would highly recommend going somewhere else.

My salesman was Thanh Nguyen. He was a pleasure to work with. Thanh was very knowledgeable in the product (car) he was selling. He answered every questions my wife and I had. It was a pleasure to have been able to work with him through the car buying process. Thanh is not only knowledgeable but he is very detail oriented. He goes above and beyond to service my wife’s expectations/​needs in regards to buying her brand new GLK350! It was definitely a good experience to have been able to work with such a great and honest salesman. Thanh has my business for life! I have already recommended him to my colleagues, relatives and friends! If you are reading this, Thanh is your man!

I bought my car from Paolo Castro. He is really a kind guy. Service is good here, and I think I got want I want.

After buying 3 cars with these folks, and frequently driving from New Jersey to have them do any repair work (and lets face it that’s really out of the way) I had an exceptionally horrific experience with them yesterday.
Our tire blew out on the highway (Saturday) on the way to a shower up north. The car was picked up and towed to Mercedes-​Benz of Boston, and we were told since we were so far away (about an hour and a half from Sommerville in GOOD (ha) traffic) that it would be no problem for us to pick it up the following morning (Sunday). Now keep in mind at this point the dealership/​service department closes at 5pm.
At about 4:15 I received a call from the service department demanding I come pick up the car. I was quite taken aback given that 5 hours earlier I was told Sunday pick up was no problem. As well by this point there was absolutely no feasible way for us to even consider trying to make it there, there was not nearly enough time. I was upset and explained how I had already been told I could pick it up tomorrow, and that I had no way to possibly get there in half an hour (by this point). I ended up speaking with someone named Ian (an Irish fellow) who said to me «It isn’t my job to listen to you bitch» and hung up on me…“FANTASTIC” customer service right there… suffice to say I became really agitated by this point! So I called back, spoke to yet another person who at the least explained to me part of the problem, Sundays they are open yes, but there is no one there to take a payment (for service OR for purchasing a car… so why bother being open on Sunday if someone wants to say buy one of your cars?) ok, as stupid as that is fine, I have an amex card in my hand I can pay you over the phone right now. Of course their response is «Well we don’t have the invoice done yet».
So I called back again, decided enough dealing with these peons who apparently have no clue what is going on, or what they are doing and am going to speak with the service department manager. Now for starters, when I called and got the «auto attendant» I pressed «2» for service department, here’s a shocker, I didn’t actually GET the service department, I got the front desk receptionist, who transferred me to someone else, who finally transferred me to the service manager. Again I am fuming given the run around I am still getting. Finally I was able to speak to someone who at least knew what they were doing. I got the information from her I wanted regarding some of the representatives I had spoken with, and finally (almost an hour later at this point I called back at 4:55pm was on the phone with her until 5:20pm) was able to get things at least somewhat sorted out. They couldn’t take payment on the phone, but were able to take payment online… fantastic, had the first representative just done this an hour ago, it would’ve saved a huge headache and a lot of yelling and fighting. She was also able to ensure I would be able to pick up my vehicle the next day with out any problems. (Which I did)
After being a loyal customer for many years, both in purchasing and servicing my car, spending thousands of dollars with these people, I’m sorry but the treatment I received yesterday was more than unacceptable! You absolutely do not hang up on your customer because «it’s not your job to listen to them bitch», sorry sir but actually it is, especially when the customer has a legitimate problem that has resulted from mis-​information from YOUR company! (Had they told us in the morning when we dropped the car off we couldn’t pick it up Sunday it had to be that day, we would’ve made arrangements to do so, simple as that. It was not an implied question, there was no room for grey area it was simple and direct CAN WE PICK UP THE CAR TOMORROW AS WE WILL BE UP NORTH an hour and a half away. The answer we got was YES THAT IS NO PROBLEM) To be treated in such a manner I will immediately be changing dealerships for service and future purchases (which will be coming with in the next year). One excessively bad experience with these people has shown me they do not truly value their customers, they feel that they are more important than the customer and don’t really want to help customers, address their concerns, or provide them with service. Well guess what Mercedes-​Benz of Boston… with out us customers, you don’t have a business, and you don’t have jobs! Hope this is a lesson to them, though I doubt it will be! But to the Unilocal-​ers out there, I highly suggest finding a different dealership to deal with, unless you enjoy being treated like a second rate citizen!

Just picked up my new 2016 E350 .i have never had such a pleasant experience purchasing a new vehicle. I can not say enough about my salesman, Alex Fine. This terrific young man went out of his way to make sure that my wife and I were completely satisfied with the deal that we had negotiated. He is truly knows how to accommodate his customers and is a wealth of information about Mercedes vehicles .
Alex is perhaps the nicest car salesman that I have ever dealt with… in many years of purchasing and leasing cars.

The dealership is very professional, very goal oriented to satisfy customers. Friendly service, no pushing while making decisions. What not to like about that?
They will go extra mile. two miles! to bring smile and good news to the table. Iliaz, our sales technician has great skills, he is very professional and patient. We leased GLA 250, it was delivered on time, spotless, we feel very special. and that’s how you suppose to feel when buying a MB!:) Really. Save yourself a time and go straight there, to MB of Somerville. This is The Place to buy a Benz. Not to mention they have freezer full of ice creams, no charge:)
But seriously. They know how to do business right, they always friendly and helpful.
This is «our» dealership from now on, good job Guys!

Georgina Stavropoulos is the most detail-​oriented, patient, efficient and caring sales professional I have ever done business with. I came in the Mercedes dealership on the first business day of 2015 to purchase a new CLA250(4Matic) and Georgina patiently spent most of the afternoon with me for test drive, model review and quotes on all available vehicles in inventory across all Herb Chambers dealerships in MA. I was able to have all my questions answered accurately and discussed every possible option with Georgina.
It was such a pleasant experience that I felt confident enough to secure the deal on my first visit. Georgina managed to get all paperwork done on a last-​minute notice and made sure things go smoothly during the logistics and handling processes. She even pre-​specified the setting for me before I returned to pick up the new car and went through the whole setting procedure with me. Moreover, prompt follow-​up was delivered and she cared for not only my buying experience but also the driving part.
I really appreciate the time and efforts she took to ensure a successful deal and develop a solid customer relationship. I wish you best of luck in her business and will certainly visit her again when it is a good time for a new car for me and all my friends.

There are some elements of car shopping that are typical. Negotiating and car shopping can be fun but frustrating. Mercedes Benz of Boston did a great job of making it as fun as possible for me while minimizing any possible angst. If you don’t read anymore of this review do yourself a favor and ask for Jeff Tucker for your salesman, he was great along with his manager Umer.
My situation was more complicated because I was breaking a lease and also ordering a new vehicle instead of getting one off the lot. Jeff and his team did a great job of locking in my trade-​in at a fair value so when the new car arrived there wouldn’t be any more discussion, I would just be able to drive out with my new CLA 250. Mission accomplished!
They offer some extra insurance options at time of payment/​financing like tire insurance, ding insurance, etc. Even though I initially rejected some extras when I changed my mind the next day they were happy to accommodate me.
Lastly, as a foodie I have to say they offer all visitors of this store a great selection of pastries from Lyndell’s Bakery, I would return just for those.
