Visiting from Cali, looking at schools with my kid and needed to get the dew cleaned up. Looked it up on Unilocal,Low and behold… found this real deal barbershop that gives a great cut, smooth tunes and insight on anything/everything Boston area. The owner took me right in(no appt), set me up with a cool beverage, and did his magic. Been to many barbershops, but none like the gents at str8edge. Bravo gents… I’ll be bach!

Great guys, seems to be a neighborhood institution. I waited only for about 15 minutes, and they take time with the cut and put great attention to detail. Paid 15 $ for a haircut and quick trim of my beard. Will definitely be back.

Awesome spot for a cut, very great guys who work there. They take their time and get you the cut you want. Nice atmosphere to be in, all the barbers know how to cut, style and shape. Well worth giving it a try, they have my business!

Got a solid cut here this morning. A real barbershop feel– used a straight razor on my neck as well, which I love. Thanks for the great cut!

I must have gone in when they’re busy(2 in chairs, 2 waiting for their cuts), but I had the same experience as Tomasz. The barbers took forever with the cuts they were working on, chatting with everyone who came jn. I waited nearly 90 minutes while they took a kid who got there after I, and wasted time. I felt bad I had to leave, but geez were they slow. I think I gave them plenty of chance, but they’ve lost my business. Sorry.

Best neighborhood spot. If you come in more than once, they remember and treat you like an old friend. Come For the cut, stay for the banter and sweet music.

I came in off the street and into a well lit and modern decorated barbershop. There were four barbers hard at work when I arrived on Friday night, and there were several guys waiting to get their hair cut. This was a good sign. Upbeat music and movies playing on the TVs helped the wait pass by quickly. There were also plenty of magazines available. My cut was precisely executed and neat. I never do anything complicated, but I could tell that from the other guys the barbers can handle any mens cut you throw at them. A straightedge neck shave rounded out the experience. Perfectly priced at $ 17. I highly recommend it.

I just moved to the area and found this place on a Saturday am google search. Walked right in without a wait to a solid hair cut for $ 12. Barbers are local guys and they are pretty chummy with a lot people coming or going but it didn’t effect my time or cut. They are real barbers working in a community, this ain’t super cuts, I recommend them and will return when I can’t the top of my ears.

I walked into this place on a Saturday and waited for about 45 minutes to get my hair cut(which never happened, I just walked out). During this time I witnessed the barbers socializing with customers while random people walking in from the street would drop by and say ‘what’s up!’ to the barbers. One of the barbers was drinking a beer while cutting a customer’s hair — the customer had brought a six pack with him(and sounded like he already had a few cold ones in him). There was a line of people sitting and waiting to get hair cuts, but the barbers would take 10 minute McDonalds breaks between haircutting sessions. These guys seemed ‘very cool’ with the customers who are probably bros with the barbers. I walked out after 45 minutes after I realized that it was taking them a very long time to administer a single haircut due to the tv watching, chitchat, fast food munching, beer drinking, and exchange of secret handshakes with their homeboys out front. If you know these barbers, it’s probably a cool place to hang out for 2 hours while getting a ‘ill trim,’ but I will never walk into this place again. Maybe I’m too focused on efficiency, or maybe I was neglected for not being hip enough, but this place isn’t for everyone.

Stumbled upon this place when I moved into the neighborhood. I’m used to an old school shop, more gentlemans spa, this place is the new version of what is so timeless about barbershops. The owner still cuts, and damn good(he cuts my hair). Music, tv’s, conversation. The first time I sat and waited I felt like I had been there a hundred times. Very chill. Walked by the other day and they were having a customer appreciation BBQ, marky(the owner, snatched me off the street and told me to come back and eat. Down to earth, relaxing, professional, and a staple in the neighborhood…
