Taylor Rental

I reserved a Penske moving truck for my move from Boston to Fort Lauderdale. I was scheduled to pick up the truck at 8:00am on Thursday, the time at which they opened. I arrived at Taylor at 7:25am. The owner/​manager did not show up until 8:15am to open the door. Then, what should have been a routine, «Here’s my confirmation number, my license, and my proof of insurance. I’ll take my truck and go now, thank you.» turned into a debacle.
No one at Taylor Rental could log into the Penske software on their computers because they forgot their login password. Hence, they could not let me leave with my truck. Myself and another customer were waiting. The other customer called Penske because she was in a hurry to drive to Wisconsin. Taylor’s owner/​manager told her, «I’m taking care of it! I’m on with Penske right now!»
I told Taylor’s manager/​owner: «We arrived here over 30 minutes before you.» She said, «SO WHAT! I don’t have to get here at a particular time!» I said, «Actually, you do, when you run a business and your customers and workers are waiting for you to open the front door.» She proceeded to tell Penske that «What can we do here? Can we complete the transactions over the phone? I have irate customers here.» We were quite calm, all things considered: I had people at my apartment waiting for me to arrive so they could help me pack it up, then I had to pack up my storage unit from Dorchester, then drive 450 miles that day. Taylor’s owner/manager’s incompetence through off my whole schedule, and her unprofessionalism was evident by her lack of compassion.
After completing my transaction with Penske over the phone because Taylor could not login to their computers due to a forgotten login password, I had to wait another 45 minutes for furniture pads: I had rented 1 dozen over a month prior during my initial reservation with Penske, but Taylor had 0 furniture pads in-​stock at their facility, despite the fact that I was the first customer in-​line that day. They had to truck them in from another Penske retailer in Medford, which took 45 minutes for some reason.
I ended up finally leaving Taylor Rental at 9:30am. A 90-​minute process that should have taken 15 minutes.
Lastly, Taylor Rental is a disheveled, filthy mess of an office. I have never seen a public business so dirty in my life. I pity the people who rent anything from them without first fumigating it and dipping it in a bleach bath.
Penske was A+. Taylor Rental was a disaster.

Horrible experience here today. My friend and I chose and reserved one white child’s table, 6 children chairs, one white reg table, and 3 adult chairs. Seemed like a pretty simple and straight forward request. The staff confirmed the supplies would be there for pickup at 8 am. We arrived there at maybe 8:30am, and the lady working in the store area informed us they weren’t there yet, and we should come back later. No apology, no sorry, no nothing!
We went ahead to pick up balloons for our event since we were on a tight schedule. After dropping of balloons at event location, we went back for a tables and chairs. The supplies were there for pickup, but were not the color requested, and were in bad shape, with bad splinters coming out of the wooden table. The child’s table was dirty, beat up, and a very ugly faded red color. We requested a different table, but was told they could not do anything. This was a pretty big deal, especially since it is an event for kids and parents, and the splintered table was very unsafe! We had to start our event early because we had to go out and buy butcher paper to cover the splinter table!
Once we brought the tables and chairs back to the rental shop, we again were not provided with any apologies, just the grumpy lady from before, and a bunch of nasty looking chairs being loaded into a truck. We kept thinking about how gross these tables and chairs would have been for a wedding or other large scale event!
We will not be using this rental store again!

I can’t believe this place has any positive reviews. Staff is so rude and they don’t follow through on anything. Our truck wasn’t ready, the stuff we added to the rental wasn’t ready, and staff was nothing but rude about it.
We’re doing a cross-​country one-​way move, and my father-​in-​law flew out to drive our truck, but not in time to get on the contract. We anticipated this and called ahead several weeks in advance to find out how to get him added to the contract, then went through the hoops to get it done (staff rude the whole time, need I add), and both called and emailed to confirm it was done. When we got there, not only was nothing ready for us, but we were told he wasn’t on the contract. Also, their printer wouldn’t work so we could not sign a receipt or get an invoice showing we had paid in any way for our truck. Staff… of course did not care. We were told we would be emailed a receipt within an hour and the contract issue would be taken care of. That was at 8:00am… it’s now almost 5:00pm. I’ve tried call several times today and this office is beyond useless.
I’m working on the call as I write this… and just found out that my husband was not added as a driver today when we were in the office. When he gave them his ID and said «I need to be added as a driver.» So we have to go back in tomorrow morning to have him added again… which is exactly the kind of errand you want added to your moving weekend when you’ve already spent half the day dealing with this headache of a place…
PS Just icing on the cake we were over-​charged for our rental. Because of course you are when they don’t give you a receipt in any way.

I rented 30 chairs and 2 8ft tables from Taylor rental in august for my baby shower. I first scheduled for a Sunday, however until 3 days before I realized there’s a 40% probability to rain that day… I called Taylor rental to change it to Sat instead. The lady is super nice and said no problem. They delivered everything to our back yard Friday afternoon and picked up on Monday morning. Great service! We had a wonderful BBQ night~

I rented a Penske truck for a one way move from Taylor Rental. The truck was newer (only had about 7000 miles on it), was spacious and comfortable.
The staff at Taylor were friendly and courteous. They explained all the insurance coverages to me in detail so that I could make sure I was choosing the right things. They walked around the truck with me to note any issues.
I’d highly recommend renting a penske truck from them! It was almost $ 500 cheaper than U-​Haul and I feel the service and truck I got were great!

Rented a moving truck from Taylor Rental this past weekend. Service was relatively quick and the charges were made clear. They also lined the truck up to leave their tiny parking lot, which was a godsend given the traffic on that part of McGrath Highway. I did have to return the truck to the Penske truck place in Medford, since it was a later return on a weekend, but the drop-​off there was simple.
I had to call to make sure about the charges, since they initially estimated far more miles used, so it would’ve been nice if they’d e-​mailed me an itemized receipt after the truck’s back in their system.
Word of advice: do not buy boxes here if you’re moving! Far too expensive.
